I wanted to share my experience from Brazil. This video helped me do the right thing because the Medic directions are not enough and incomplete. In my experience, which started with whitespots six months ago, I did exactly as mentioned in this video with great success. Six months later, I do the prevention dose every 45 days, and no signs of whitespots whatsoever, even adding new fishes to the tank. Thank you!
Question. When you do prevention every 45 days are you doing the recommended dose for 10 days or what are you doing and how to long for prevention. I bought this for prevention and just added fish. Thank you.
Caio resume em português pra mim como devo usar no meu reef de 500 litros (+sump 100). tirando substrato e rochas deve ser uns 400 litros de água.
@@matthewgrant3850, thanks for your patience - I didn't get a notification. So I used the small dose for 10 days or so. The dosage may vary, but for prevention only, you may use the lower one,
Combined this with garlic extreme and ginger powder, in less than 48 hours amazing difference , 72 hours almost clear no harm to soft corals at all, saved my powder blue
im going thru same think with my powder blue now((( ich outbreak ((( i dose 3 spoons every 50 gallon triple dose than suggested also soak food with garlic , hows ur powder blue doing???
Can I use all three medication altogether?
I have 3 tangs so got a bottle just in case. I then got WS, dosed on same day of outbreak, increased feed to 3 times per day and dosed 3 scoops per dosage. All fish survived after dosing for 14 days. I was lucky but believe treating upon outbreak was key along with more food to build immune system.
Sound vid ,you just told me everything I needed to know mt,will let you know how I get on
Great video. This helped to save four fish out of the tank. Thanks for the helpful video.
Great informative video, you explain things very well
It says on the poly lab website to remove activated carbon, leave skimmer on, and UV light can be left on.
leave uv off for an hour in between doses
super magnifico el video , una de las cosas es que explica muy bien el proceso sin salirse del tema , y eso es lo que necesitamos que el mensaje sea claro por eso le doy un 10 a este video super genial muchas gracias.
Day 6 of treatment and my little fella(Cherub Angel) is back up and swimming with the rest of the gang, so must work.
Bought some last week, says turn UV off for 1 hour after dose.
Just used this for ten days at three doses twice a day 9 am and 9 pm on a 110g with a 40g sump and I have UV light in my overflow. A clown I introduced had white spots (ick) with in 3 days there were no more white spots I'll continue for the 20 days and give an update but I'm so glad I used this.
update please ?
well done on the info, thanks
I am disappointed the mFG did nottttt put in the instructions not to add direct as to not hurt corals!!! They should say to mix in cup of tank water and put in water column in front of power head like you said!!! Glad I watched this video! Thankyou!
+Tim Fitzpatrick 👍
I did my homework n read that u definitely need to mix it to not affect your corals n highflow area but if u have a sump it best to put it in the sump after u mix it well with tank water 1hr before lights turn on in the morning and leave sterilizer off for that hour then turn sterilizer back on. Then at night 1 hour after lights turn off and leave sterilizer off for 1 hour then put sterilizer back on. You have to do it this way every day in order for it to work.
Medic really doesn't come with enough instructions at all!!! All mine said was put a level spoon in per every 50 gal ect not to put in sump not to dissolve first!
Jade Hiatt Kruusmagi
That is correct I would start slowly when 1st introduced to the tank until everything starts getting used to it. What I mean is ur corals if u have a reeftank.
thanks Michael great video ..i just bought this product after doing some research and lots of people have suggested it, your video is one of the best I've seen so far so thanks..i know there's a small number including some posts on your channel that say it doesn't..im going with the higher majority..question I obviously don't do any water changes during medication?? I had a minor out break on my new emperor and only my fox got it out of 9 fish..so I quantine both in copper but they passed away think due to ammonia..so thinking of using it still although none of my other fish showing any signs..your advice would be greatly appreciated..
Aarons Aquarium, Does it really work??? Is it proven?
BERELEAH
Nice informative video. Thanks. Can I add Polyplab along with my anemones in my marine tank. Pls help
Thank you so much
Thank you!
Thank you Aaron - 2nd fish died from WS today went out and bought some first dose gonna be tonight before it takes out my freckle face and yellow belly tang
It’s good to know you use it on a regular basis and is a safe product
Do you still recommend this product? Have you used this product with success? This video is an older one. I think you had a ick outbreak on the wife V1. (If I am wrong on that then I apologize) I don’t remember seeing/hearing you using this at that time.
Thank you for your explanation of how to dose. The instructions do not say anything about actually mixing or where to put it inside your tank. Will this medication only work for white spots or will it work for marine velvet?
Hi Arron. Could you tell me. Do I still water change as usual during the dosing period
Has anyone ever had it negatively affect anemone? My nems seem to hate it, they've been in hiding ever since i started dosing this.
great help thanks
+kevin jackson 👍
thanks a lot
Is this medicine require water changes every doses?
first video to show how to administer the product
what about pure marine block nitrates remover? should i remove?
Hope this works... I haven't been able to get my sick fish out of my DT without disturbing my rock work. I've been dosing with Ich X and it's really depleting their 02 and not showing any improvement...

Every time I used this in my reef all the fish died
EVERYTIME
For me the corals..
I have a question I'm new to saltwater and I am unsure on how to make saltwater, like how much salt too add for a specific amount of water. I have a freshwater aquarium it's easy to take care of. I have always wanted corals and clown fish but the fact of how to make the water perfect has stumped me. Your video on how to set up a saltwater aquarium helped a lot but I don't know how u made the water. Your tanks are amazing. I like the yellow tangs. Also I have always used a hang on the back filter so can I have one of them for a saltwater tank? Thanks for making awesome videos.
On the video How To Setup a Saltwater Tank a link pops up at the beginning to my video showing how I mixed the salt. Go check that out that may help you a little.
+Aarons Aquarium thx
This video is so helpful as the instructions are woeful lol
How effective is UV in treating ich in reef tank? What wattage? How long to run? Ruby Reef combo, or Seachem Metroplex and focus, or polyplab reefsafe Medic, PLUS Uv?
My 150 gallon uses 25w uv ultraviolet at 400gph for ich management
Hi mate, great videos, my question is would you still use the Medic even if you have a uv steriliser recently fitted?
I believe it’s better if you have a if sterilizer
hi there just got a tank set up and let it run for 7 to 8 weeks and some fish and with in a week i have white spots on my clownfish. i got some cuprazin from my fish shop but i have ran out i am on my 4th day so dont need to dose the tank till the 6th day but the shop dont have any more. can i stat to use polyp lab medic instead off cuprazin as i have it now.
i ordered cuprazin wont be home for 4 day
what is the best to do. thanks
What about water change??
how often do u change water
What if my fish eat some of the poly lab? I throw it directly into the aquarium and my fish think is food, I’ve seen them eat one or two white pellets but usually stop after the first taste. Will they be ok?
Did it work Aaron?
should i turn of nopox dose ? rowaphos reactor ?
Do you/have you used this in a while? I know this is an older vid but curious on if anyone still uses this?
What I should do if it's been past 20 days with dosing and I have still ich on my fish
Did you film this in the future or in a spaceship?
Could I use this product in a dosing pump to dose it twice a day?
Hi, after I finished using polyp lab medic, can i use phosphate remover? Or I have to change the water first?
hi mate is this the best stuff on the market as my tangs are riddled with whitespot grrr?
Nice 1 larrrr
Hi, was just wondering about water changes while using this product? Many thanks
Andy Chester I would say since you constantly have to dose it loses its active ingredient
It’s a good idea to do a water change after any sort of medication though in 5 stages of 20% over 5 weeks
I know this is an old video but do you know if this is good for killing black spot? as rare as it is my yellow tank has it and my regal has started flashing, any where in Manchester sell it? (fellow manc)
been told to fresh water dip but catching them is going to be painfull.
Hi Aaron sorry to bug you but been watching you for weeks now, on youtube that is lol :), i'm new to Reefing I just got a Blue tang(Dory) its a very small one about 1-1/2 and its scratching it's self on rock from day one no spots white or black, and this morning the blue tang is missing some skin on it bottom, do you have any ideal? :) it's also eating very well and very actif
hi Aaron, thanks for the video..jist a quick question..did you do any water changes during medication? thanks
+alwaystmoza No as this would also remove the treatment. You can though if you have to.
Aarons Aquarium thanks for the reply..did you do any water changes during medication? as 20 days with no water changes sounds a lot..
+alwaystmoza I didn't but I don't do many anyway. You can water change though if required
Is it worth adding it to a fishless tank mate, (fishless because of death caused by whitespot). If so, will I be able to add fish after 10 days treatment as opposed to the 8 weeks I was going to wait? Would that fish then need qiuarantining as I will still be treating the tank for a further 10 days, 20 in total. Also, does dipping corals (in polylab reef primer) alleviate the chances of introducing disease as it does pests?
+DrOfWelshMagic No mate just stick with your fallow period. That's the best way to do it. If there's no fish in the tank the parasite has no food which obviously means it will die. Stick it out mate you will be better for it in the end.
ok mate thanks, guess im just gonna have to get myself a quarantine tank instead and quarantine some fish while the 30 litre reef shoe box remains fallow. thing is, my qt will be twice the size of my current main tank.
Do I turn off the skimmer when I use the medication ?
During the next two hours after applying it to the tank, then you can turn it ON again.
You sure this kills ich or simply builds fishes immune systems but ich is still invisibly present?
+Ben C It kills the Whitespot parasite in its free swimming stage.
@@AaronsAquarium not isnt not do that as the instructions says is just a water conditioner
Like your perspective
have you or anyone used this for velvet on corydoras?
No I haven't.
I'm not convinced about treatment
you tried on your aquarium and worked ???????????
sadly my fishes die isnt a medic product just a water conditioner
Awesome! I bought a elegance coral and that is the first high priced coral I have bought and didn't want to risk quarantining it....well now I have ich. Can you tell me how long you recommend using this? I have so many fish it would be impossible to put them all into quarantine
I'd do the longest dose recommended on the bottle and the largest amount.
+Aarons Aquarium Will do, thank you! Also, do you think it would be okay to feed the fish Dr.G's anti parasite food while I'm dosing medic? I'm thinking of doing both... Just to make 100% sure lol
Ashley L I wouldn't want to give advice on that because I've not tried it myself. I think Polyp Lab will be enough as long as you use it correctly.
+Aarons Aquarium Got it, thank you!
+Ashley L I was wondering the same thing .. What did u end up doing ? How did it work out ??
Nice video and I just bought Polyp Lab and I am on the 7th day of dosing twice before and after the lights are off. One thing I like to know is after I have dosed for 20 days, Do I have to do a big water change or should I just continue as normal ? Your advise would be appreciated.
In my case, I did the regular TPAs as I used to. Six months later, everything running smoothly ;-)
whatbis tpas
Hi Aaron, can you tell me if this product works on the "Velvet parasite" like it does the "Ick parasite"?
+tldohio I don't think so
Aarons Aquarium i've listened to a couple of you're videos, looking for advice on the velvet parasite and how to treat it in a reef tank. i couldn't find anything. do you have any advice? As removing all the rock from my 120 to catch the fish seems like an impossible and overwhelming task.
+tldohio Normally if you know you have velvet it's too late. There's no treatment you can add to a reef tank that will kill it off. Running the tank without fish and putting your fish in a QT system is the only real way
Aarons Aquarium ok..thanks 😕
+tldohio 👍
How about if you have a tank less than 50 gal or 190 liters?
Well if its 25 gallon use half a scoop. 10 gallon one quarter.
+Aarons Aquarium I have a 29 gallon tank , can I use one scoop for a higher dose? Also. Is it absolutely necessary to take the carbon pad out?? That's a pain to do and My tank is only 3 weeks old I worry about nitrates building up in that 20 day period :(
@@dbas2863 yes take carbon out run again after 10 days
Kerry Rogers two years too late. No tank anymore but thanks for ur response lol
Is his safe with invertebrates? Ty
+Lovebetta Yes
Ok, ty.
Lovebetta
I have cleaning crew and sand sifting starfish didn't affect anything but I cn affect some corals like Pink Palys!
I have white spot in my tank just seen a sick fish covered in white spot I'm going to get this medication I'm going to do what you said 3 scoops per 50gallon for 20 days can I do a water change in that time or not?
no I wouldn't as you will be removing the medication when you water change
+Aarons Aquarium ok thanks
Does this med really help many people say it was a waste of money and time
Why do people call you sir. Is it because your old as shit. Lol. Good video.
haha Bellend
