This! Like they do this because they want to improve the game, not because people pay them! People pay them because they appreciate what they do! Like wtf don't doxx people just because you're mad a mod is broken 😒
not to mention all of these mods are available for free: nobody expects you to pay at all, unless you want to... this level of entitlement for FREE content that can, at this point, be more complex than much of what EA puts out under a hefty price-tag, is next level
I don't usually agree with people who use 'touch grass', as it's usually used by ID-10Ts but in this case I fully agree with you. Modders owe people NOTHING. They can update or not as they like, it's their work. If a few don't like it that's tough on them.
@@arthur_shadows5078 You wouldn't be getting nothing, you'd be getting the work that was already done. If patrons don't feel that's worth what they pay, it's up to them to cancel, not the modder to cancel it all.
Imagine doxing someone because you can't see your Sims do corn in a video game, or because you're an ungrateful, entitled brat who can't just wait a few days/weeks. This is honestly pathetic. The creator of the mod stated that they would be on vacation before the update. Wtf is wrong with some people for real? Like go do something else with your life, or play something else while waiting. How desperate are you? Modders are people like us and have a life and responsibilities too they are not ROBOT. It's understandable why some modders decide to abruptly stop everything and just disappear when faced with constant harassment and threats. This behavior is honestly crazy, especially coming from folks who can't even mod. SMH...
Exactly 😂💯 this comment is golden many of us know what wicked whims is lol. But harassing? death threats? Doxing? That's crazy! These people need to go outside and get help wth!
Also Wicked Whims is still fully operational (at least for me) after the latest updates. So seriously, people are doxxing Turbodriver for... not updating a mod that still works like it did before the update and Lovestruck? Some people really are entitled and stupid.
@@AaqamaNuteru Seriously!! I would not even blame him if he did that or stopped completely, i miss ww too but geez.. Sims is not my whole life.. I can wait..
I got kicked out of a Sims group on Facebook because I said I don't play every single day. I'm an adult and have a life. The Sims is something I play maybe once or twice a month.
dude wicked whims is gonna be hard to update, The sims basically stole the entire attraction thing, and turbo driver probably has to do a lot to make the new attraction system work with the actual sims one now together. people need to chill TF out. our modders are gonna go on strike if we don't stop this total bullshit.
plus he's on vacation and even announced that before the patch! When I first checked for updates 2 days ago, I was surpised ww is not updated yet too but I would never get angry at that, yet alone sending death treaths or shit like that,, my first thought was "oh ok, maybe this pack broke it more than ever OR he's on vacation.. it is summer after all" .. and that was that.. no big deal.. I can wait
I would rephrase that differently. The Sims team did not 'stea' the attraction system. However, his version of the attraction system would absolutely conflict with the new one. So that I would agree with you.
@@justcarrie89same , I just wait until I’m ready to play again, which is usually a couple weeks so I wanna make sure that no emergency patches come out causing me to have to re-update but some people are crazy with death threats over a mod
I started playing at 23, I’m now 44. Wouldn’t dare leave rude comments like that to mod creators. I’m thankful for them and what they create. Let’s not give them reason to quit please 🙏
Same here, been playing since the sims 1 when i was 3 years old (i have hyperlexia so i could read from a very young age) never once has it popped into my mind to harassing random people just because of me being inpatient. People have lives, making/updating mods takes time. Pls be respectful.
same here, OR backup everything first (mods, save files, tray files, even screenshots folder) the optional thing to do: backup the previous version of the game (the installation folder) if you have 2 computers, just like me, use this method: 1. after backing up those folders above, go offline on your main computer. how to go offline? use youtube, there are so many tutorials for it. 2. on the secondary computer ( I assume that the mods and save folder are the same, if not, please backup those folders which I mentioned above, again), just do the play test mod. yes play testing which mod are broken, and keep an eye on scarlet mods list (a website, just google it), if there is an updated version of the mod, download it and play test it again on the secondary computer, do this without saving your progress 3. do the method, at least 2-3 weeks depending by how many mods that you have there and how long it will take for the modder to fix it. with those method above, you can play offline on your main computer with the previous version of the game, and at a same time you can do the play test (to detect which mod are broken, obsolete, etc) on the secondary computer. I always do this since I have 2 computers and it's a life saver, really.
Even back when I played a lot and updates were 'safer', I would never update until all my main mods were updated first. It really isn't that difficult and it's not like the game can't be played. Being patient is the price people pay for using mods.
Be like me and take this a step even further. I no longer update the game or download any mods anymore. I got my game and content to a stable state and just stopped everything. The best thing a person who is modding their game can do, is learn when they have enough. Get your game to a stable state of what you need, not what you see. I been modding skyrim, sims, and baldur's gate 3 for a while now. I have reached the cut off point that I no longer care what mods or updates come out. My game is frozen in a state I like it and I just stopped and enjoy my stable game. I am now at that point at last with skyrim to. The only game I'm still actively modding is baldur's gate 3 now, but I think after patch 7 I will just stop. Honestly I don't like the idea of endlessly spending money on a game or endlessly updating a game. Mod till you are happy with your state of the game and then walk away and enjoy it. At this point I just watch modding news out of entertainment and not out of worry for the state of my game. It's liberating and would suggest those who mod their games to take this approach.
The petty part of me really wants these modders to say, “okay, if that’s how you want it then I’m going on holiday for a few weeks. Have fun waiting!” I know they’d never do that because they are professionals and for most of them it is their livelihood, but watching these chronically online people explode would be glorious lol.
No seriously people need consequences to their actions. If I were a mod creator I would retire from making sims mods if this happened to me. They do not deserve these modders’ work at the expense of their mental and physical wellbeing.
There was a Minecraft modder that used to do a similar thing. Everytime someone asked for an update or demanded anything etc, the modder would delay the release by a week, or something like that. They did it too, stuck to it and followed through.
If people want to throw hissy fits over mods needing time maybe they need to pull out their computer and learning how much mods can be an absolute pain
I cannot imagine how difficult and complex modding even is, I don't understand it so for me, I don't have a right to tell them how to do it, faster, or better. For some modders, I enjoy their work so much I'll wait. It's just that simple.
Simmers are crazy annoying to the point of insanity. Especially in the Turbo situation. He sent out a message weeks in advance saying “I’m going to be on vacation during the update” and now he’s being doxxed and threatened?? This is exactly why I don’t bother modding anything for Sims. Perfectly capable and even had a few ideas but I refuse to deal with stuff like this every update. The modders who do this deserve all the props for being so patient and passionate. And anybody who’s threatening them over a mod they put the time and energy into…deserves something not nice…I’m gonna leave it at that.
I mod when I feel like I want something in the game that's not there but I would never charge money because I feel it just leads to this sort of entitlement. I deliberately don't have a page and just use Sims Resource - if only a few ever find my items then that is still a few ppl that can enjoy them. Haters are much easier to avoid if you do not have a way of people contacting you. Not at all justifying that it's okay for anyone to behave so badly with doxxing/threatening just because they choose to pay for a mod though - just to be clear. But if you want to mod there are options so long as you understand it's a labour of love.
@@Kristina-wj5kv donations are entirely optional tho, and are a way of showing gratitude to the mod creator It's not like Sims 4 has Bethesda's Creation Club, where they do sell mods
Imagine catching a charge because you were too impatient to wait for a mod update. Do some people not realize sending death threats could land you jail time? That would be one awkward conversation to be having in front of a judge.
Worst part? I've heard WW only broke for people who bought the new pack. So the losers who decided to commit crimes because a mod wasn't updated at the drop of a hat also decided to buy from EA upon release (or even pre-release) despite the track record of broken updates and major glitches. Like, none of this is new except for the extreme entitlement.
porn addiction has ruined so many peoples brains, doxxing over your sims not being able to have sex is unhinged asf. I had I think 4 updates in total over those few days so imagine them fixing that many times it’s always best to wait especially with this game
It's really fucking sad and messed up considering these are adults acting like this. For crying out loud if you want to watch sims interact in "corn" go use the orange and black websites or find a new hobby
.... now I finally realized what a comment above meant with "corn" 🤦🏻♀️, it was written without quotation marks and I thought it had to do with farming, but wondered how I never knew we could grow that crop ...
@pastelskies99 sorry I didn’t express it correctly. I meant that your comment had the quotation marks and helped me finally realize that some previous comments I read using the word weren't talking about crops 😅
People today have become too rude, they are too self-righteous, they don't know how to value someone's life and time, we have too many stupid minds nowadays
Yeah, feels like it's "me me me" and everything is gonna work in a snap of the finger... And without any problem. Just gonna work - cause they say so... I remember when you have to wait for the modem to start before even using a computer (and occuping the phone line during the whole time😁) That was something.
@@J8922-o4vgood point, people think just because you throw money at something it will instantly get done/appear. That's not how life works. This culture of trying to automate every consumer experience and remove the "hassle" of speaking to a human is ruining our ability to manage our exceptions for each other. It's understandable to be upset about a wrong order or a delay in service but throwing a tantrum and going as far to dox someone over pixel corn is not the response of a healthy minded individual. It doesn't make the process any easier and makes people less likely to want to help you/give you what you want. Patience really is a virtue that our society is severely lacking.
exactly this! there’s nothing wrong with (respectfully!) making valid complaints about a game you’ve paid for but people have gotten way too comfortable talking down to these developers like their sole life purpose is to only make the sims. like it’s so gross for me to witness
TBF, with the gurus who represent EA, what simmers want is more transparency and more information, updates, etc. People don't feel as ignored when they can at least hear from EA that things are being worked on, or that they're doing this thing over here, and that thing will be fixed within 2 weeks...or whatever. Communication oils a lot of squeaky wheels. They know this because they keep trying to get a more open discourse with players which seems to taper off quickly each time. I see threads where the Guru came in at the beginning but weeks later, they've not been heard from since and the problem still exists. Still....threatening? That's just awful. Modders being threatened? - folks, just stop. They go into this blind based on whatever EA chooses to do. I have no idea what it takes to even update an existing, large mod and am thankful I don't have to.
THANK YOU for saying this. I've seen some angry posts from players about modders who aren't fast enough. They're giving us their mods FOR FREE, and that's not good enough for the Karens?!
@@ShadoeLandman 1000% this, and even more so the type that keep posting about repacks all over the internet as if that doesn't put both the modders and players at risk. its like having access to classified info that they don't need but other people do and screaming 'look over here'.
To those people who started playing the game with mods, when the Sims 4 started we didn't have pools, toddlers, and ghosts, and that is just the tip of the iceberg. We started off with a stripped-down version of the game. And if I have to play vanilla for a couple of weeks so the modders can get their work done--great!! I would wait for that. Keeping up with the game is tough and I don't envy them at all. If you think you can do a better job, then try it and find out. It is work just to recolor an item in the Sims 4 Studio--and yes, I have tried. No lie. So give the modders a break, without them we wouldn't be playing, and I know I am not alone in saying that. Thank you modders.
THERE WAS NO TODDLERS, woah, I remember being excited not long ago when infants came out… ty for using the words “tip of the iceberg”, I’m sorry, Owl City is my favorite singer.
"I am also a paying member of turbodriver, and I too am eager to see how Wicked Whims will integrate with this expansion, but threatening someone who is simply on vacation is, in my opinion, ridiculous and shameful."
Some people are just so dumb, the modders are doing their best and they do it mostly for free, its a hobby for them. Nearly all mods are updated by now, and really if you cant play without the S** Mod then it is a you problem. jeeeez honestly, I would not be mad about it if they said f*** it I quit modding

I've noticed a rise in online content entitlement, most notably for me in webcomic spaces (side-eyes webtoons) with comic creators being harassed for larger and quicker updates even though it's all free. I suspect it's caused by people raised on a web which is catered and tailored to their own desires with all the content they want at their fingertips rather than engaging in creation and curation themselves 🤷
if I was Turbodriver I would delay the update even more just to make these types of people even more mad! and I know real fans and people would support me for doing it!
THANK YOU for this video. I make mods but have health issues and a full-time job. The impatience of some people makes me want to quit sharing my hard work.
I honestly wouldn’t blame you if you did, and I’m saying that as someone who loves and uses your mods! People need to realize that modern are human beings with lives!
Wish people had this kind of energy with EA when they CHARGED you 40$ for butched, empty, sad and glitchy packs. Edit: as some of you DON'T KNOW how to read, apparently, here's a clarification bc i can't deal with bs no more: i never said EA deserved to receive any threats or anything bad. I just talk about the energy aka go berserker on EA when they, as a multimillion company make simmers PAY for defective and very lacking packs. So stop putting words in my mouth especially when those are charged with serious accusations. Thank you. Good day.
They do. The difference is Gurus can not disclose this information to the public. The game is T for teens. Information that a guru recieved a death threat does not fit that image. Also, how disgusting to imply this is okay to do to ANYONE.
@@justice4pixels no their point is we have higher standards for modders than a million dollar company. They're not saying they actually want death threats sent to the ppl who work at EA
@@justice4pixels where did i mention the gurus? I'm talking about EA as a company. Please, read better before trying to put words in my mouth than i didn't say. Less when you are saying i want gurus to be threaded or doxxed or harassed. Edit: typos
for those who can't wait for the modder to update their mods: why don't you create your own? do you think modder aren't human being? and the dumbest thing: why you updating the game in the first place? what is that for? it's not a competition for the first person who try the latest feature, right? your choice to update the game, your consequence to get the fact that the mods or cc that you are using there will broken.
Unfortunately, EA is working toward preventing people from refusing updates or downpatching the game. Still, patience is a good thing. Modders don't get an early copy of the update. People who play modded can just stop playing the game until all the mods they use are updated. And people who play unmodded can stop playing until EA fixes the major bugs. I know EA collects data on playership metrics. Let the greedy schmucks see a significant drop in play hours for a few days after each broken patch until they learn how to release functional patches.
I wonder if these people know the game does work without mods and cc if they are that desperate to play. This is probably at least part of the reason why The Sims team doesn't post as often as they used to.
I literally have a save file without CC and Mods that I keep for not only checking out the updates and new Mods but, if it takes a bit longer, I can play a vanilla game just to get my fix. Maybe some of these people need to do something like that, too!
That is insane! I'm on my hands and knees thanking modders just for their work, and that they do all of that for free! Usually they update their mods sooo fast considering all the work and that they're doing it by themselves. Like the ui extension was updated only one day after the update, EA could never!! Give these people time and be thankful that they're even doing this for all of us
I am old (60) and have played Sims since it was first launched. Sims 4 was a huge disappointment but that has been eased by the amazing mods I have been introduced to. I am always astounded by the generosity of the modders who spend hours creating such incredible mods to improve a lacklustre game no end. I am not on Twitter, Patreon, Facebook or any other social media crap but even I knew Turbodriver was going away for a couple of weeks (I don't know where I saw their message, I have the multiple jobs mod but I don't think it was on that page). I cannot believe that people are staying in the selfish, greedy, entitled toddler stage of their lives for so long these days! People who behaved like this as I was growing up were ridiculed and ostracised but there seems to be so many of now. It is the "waaugh!" generation combined with the "me, me, me" generation (and I include anyone from any generation in these groups who behave this way) xxx
What's really sad is a lot of these people act like this in real life too, I had to graduate with them. I genuinely hope that I never see any of them again, but I guess to make up for that, I get to see their entitlement online... Yay...
64 so I can agree with you. I will say that I didn't know he was going on vacation because I just really don't follow most social media. When it hadn't been updated for a week or so, I did a Google search, and that's how I found out. I had already figured that it would take much longer for some of the bigger mods, esp WW, because of there being so much overlap with the latest pack. It's amazing how a bit of common sense can nip problems in the bud...but I don't have much to say about threats and doxxing. I'm too old for that nonsense and have no patience for that kind of behavior.
This is why am terrified as a person with a medical disability & needs time to rest; to fully dive into turning my outlet into a business cause people are so selfish, entitled, & plain rude. No critical thinking skills or common sense. The pressure on creatives is insane!!!
Literally be a normal person and turn off ur internet and play without updating it. boom you don't have to deal with broken mods AND you don't have to deal with the *new* glitches/bugs
I know I’m biased because I don’t play with mods, but if I had issues with players of my mods behaving that way I would punish them like the children they act like they are. No more mod updates. I would retire. People need to have some consequences to their actions. This is ridiculous, especially because after their tantrums and doxxing they ended up getting what they wanted. No thank you ma’am. They do not deserve to get their mod updates at the cost of the mod creators’ mental and physical wellbeing.
the problem with the internet is you can say ANYTHING to ANYONE and barely (IF EVER in the majority of cases) get any consequences for it... It makes people feel entitled to say those things because they literally can't see the human behind their screens and they don't even stop and think "well maybe this person - who does this as a HOBBY, cause they can't even charge for their mod work - has other shit (and a job) going on with their lives so i have to be patient"... No, they get inconvenienced in THEIR hobby and they lash out ridiculously cause they have dehumanized anyone online that they don't know irl... Literally they don't think about it cause in their minds (subconsciously) they are talking to a machine, because there isnt a human face reacting to the hurtful stuff in real time in front of them... It's not like a conscious, "evil" choice (in the vast majority of cases), it's just that they on one hand live in an extremely individualistic society and are probably running a bit low on empathy and reserve what little they got for their immediate circle... So, normal-to-low empathy + entitlement from living in a hyper-competitive AND individualistic society... You get ridiculous people who feel like they can DEMAND other people prioritize what THEY need, and they'll try and rationalize it any way they can and they'll sound VERY stupid to the rest of us but hey...at least we know why they do it, right¿? T-T
@@columbia2635 yeah no the problem with that is that if you are in your 60s you may have been "raised better" but then its your generation that raised the current adults who raised the current children so its technically your generations fault we were raised like this (not YOU, your generation, which is a very BROAD group of people so no im not personally attacking you in any way 🤣)
I'm appalled. I used to make mods for one of Bethesda titles. There were some weirdos asking for strange things. I had this companion that I voice-acted and I felt terrible when I read comments about how annoying my voice was or how ugly my character was and how he should be ditched. I felt great after I erased my mods and profile on the Nexus. I believe those experiences are the main reason I've never released anything I made myself for my sims.
Bro, when did d3ath threats and doxxing become normal behavior for when people become upset? Like, there was a fan fiction writer that said someone had tried to doxx her multiple times, because they didn’t like the ship they were writing for! Like, wtff?!!?? What have we turned into?
I agree with Ebonix's theory but I put more stock into how these people are raised. I lean more into the latter category in terms of my Sims 4 start but can't remotely fathom acting this way. I was raised to appricate when people do things out of the genuine love in their heart because people don't have to do shit for you, especially out of that kind of love and care. It honestly disgusts and disturbs me that people are acting like this *OVER SOME DAMN PIXELS!* Like its absolutely ridiculous how entitled this communtiy is and that's the #1 reason I stay in my little bubble.
The thing that’s crazy to me is them not realizing you’re not paying on patreon for the content, in the case of sims, you’re paying for early access or to simply support the creator, so really those arguments are null cause it has nothing to do with the content.
Yeah, I agree. We depend on Mods SO much in this version, people get really ornery when a mod isn't updated in a timely (in their opinion) manner. I use a lot of mods and cc as well but know that after a patch, it takes a while for them to update. It's still people behind these things. Doxxing and harassment are unacceptable. I don't get it at all. This is why we can't have nice things. There's always bad people ruining things for the better people, sadly. I wouldn't be surprised if any of the affected creators just stop creating mods. Seems like a thankless job, this way. Do better people!
Ive only been playing sims 4 for 4 years and even I'm not this butt hurt over people having their own lives! This is ridiculous and people should be ashamed of themselves. There is so much happening in the world and not having an update to a mod is NOT the most important thing.
I had to leave almost every SIMS Facebook group because all the whining about being annoyed about having to update mods with every update...and ALL the whining with every new pack announcement/release
I used to play on PC (sims1-early sims4) and now I'm currently a console player for the challenge of it (no mods, no cc, harder to build in console) and I'm not even operating the cheat window. We've literally had a pack drop, pre pack update, and 2 emergency updates in less than a week. Mod creators need time to adjust for each of those times... good grief! I couldn't agree with you more Edited to state: I am not saying that anyone else should play like I do. I don't allow myself to open the cheat bar to make it more challenging. I also don't buy the sims for my PC because I love mods and cc but once I start with even a little I want it all because it's so good! Just was trying to say to give the creators a break, they're trying to live their lives while fixing, improving, and/or adding to a game that we all enjoy playing in our own ways
funny that people are only speaking up about this now, it's been like this for so long, sad that it took a big modder being doxxed for all this to come to light.
It is possible a lot of people did not know this has been happening for a while. I know I didn’t know until your comment that this has been happening for a long while. Glad it is being spoken about now and hope people stop.
To be fair, most of it was people just complaining and being impatient. Which is bad obviously, but that’s unfortunately pretty standard when you make mods for a game that still gets updates. I don’t remember anyone being doxxed before this.
@@Binwit if this was just people complaining and being impatient i don't think it would've gotten to this point to begin with, many creators have been doxxed, a lot of cc creators and modders throughout the years, it's just that they weren't big enough for people to cover their story, which is the sad truth, a lot of creators on Tumblr have shared their stories.
I can understand being frustrated when your vanilla game breaks or gets new bugs or old ones after a new update. Even then doxxing is no excuse, much less this. Whoever these people need to be grateful that they can use mods and cc while console players like me have to make do with vanilla game
Honestly I think modders being harassed should go on strike or delay updates. Fuck people who are being assholes about FREE CONTENT. Modders aren't machines. They are people with lives. This behavior is disgusting.
I totally agree with you. We are supposed to be adults playing a game for our own enjoyment. From past experience with the Sims game it is always been one out of the bunch that makes everyone else look bad. The CC creators are phenomenal and should be more appreciated whether the game is updated or not. These people are giving us more pleasure to our game, so get off your high horse
This is crazy. I checked Turbos socials cause since I have been using their mod they updated pretty fast but once I checked it and saw a post on X/Twitter that they were on vacation, I was like cool I’ll just have to wait and went on with my life.
I play vanilla gameplay on ps4...no need for MODS. But doxing someone just because you can't wait a while is CRAZY....Get a GRIP yall.... It's just a game!!!!
I literally wait about a week before I update my mods, even then, I don’t care if it’s updated or not, I can check it later. If I want to play before things are updated, I make a vanilla save and play that.
this situation makes me sick. Imagine this causing many modders to quit, or stop updating all together and those who have been respectful, and patient, an understanding lose some of their favorite mods. I always understand modders taking awhile - even a few months for updates. Updates are nice, yes, but so is being nice BACK to the mod creator. I direct a lot of my issues towards EA, since EA made the game with so many issues, getting patched, then getting broken again off and on again. I love and adore the modders who make my gameplay PLAYABLE. Let people have time, and don't ruin this for Everyone else. PLEASE.
I play using Wicked Whims, and while I also would understand if TurboDriver decided to stop modding altogether, it angers me that a handful of unhinged lunatics who are willing to resort to *literal, actual crimes* could cause ME to lose out on some of the mods I enjoy. I haven't doxxed or harassed! Why should I lose out? It's a special brand of selfish to destroy something for everyone just because you didn't get what you want when you want it. I don't interact with simmers very often, and this a good example of why. Let the selfish ones scream into the void rather than my ear. If this is how they're gonna behave, they don't deserve our attention beyond reporting any criminal activity to the proper authorities. I hope TurboDriver can ban the doxxers from his Patreon, cuz nobody should have to put up with that.
People need to chill and learn to be patient. This is not okay. I would like to see those people on the other side and see how they would take all the harassment from players just because they didn’t update their mods. We should consider ourselves soooo lucky we even have mods. I wouldn’t be surprised if some creators stopped making and updating mods, at least until people start being more considerate and respectful. Mods creators have personal lives too. We seriously need to wake up and be thankful for what they do for us.
Patience is a virtue which is missing from a lot of people. This is another reason why I do not share my mods on other games otherwise I put myself into a circle you cannot escape. Modders do mods for passion but sometimes you take breaks and how long breaks are is very different from person to person. Life exists for everyone and the time is the same for everyone.
Not that I expected you to ignore this topic. We all know you’re always on top of this, but I still really appreciate you addressing this. These mod creators are doing great work and the reaction to them not working quickly enough is sick
YES!! I’ve been playing the sims since I was 6 (yes, under aged, I get it) but I recently found out how mods work, and began downloading like crazy. My game is currently broken, so I removed all mods and played without, which gives me time to upload my creations to the gallery. TY for fixing my views, I now remember that mods ARE indeed a gift, that we DON'T NEED!! I'm glad that there are still people out there who can appreciate AND teach others values of the stuff we’re given. You are awesome
I firmly believe the modders are well within their rights (and possibly even obligation) to just pull their mods if this harassment continues. There's never any justification for this sort of behavior, and rewarding it only ensures it will happen again. It's like refusing to scold a child for throwing a tantrum and instead giving them what they want.
if you cannot play the game without drvgs or p0rn or mvrder or a smaller UI/column for a couple weeks then you need serious mental help (and to delete the game)
like... it's not even long. a few days... and EA pushes so many fix-updates, how should a normal human being with a life do that? They need jobs, too, they are doing it as a hobby. There are even people "demanding" modders to let other modders fix their updates, just because they are bored. yeah! Pixelade said it perfectly
I’m a teen who’s been playing the sims since my cousin showed me it when i was like, what 8? I only started using mods late 2023 bc i finally went ps to pc and since I’ve downloaded mods i’m like “woah wtf” bc i’m now seeing simmers on a whole different prospective. This is disgusting bro, and i’m saying that as a literal minor (My edit was me fixing my grammar💀🙌)
These actions speak volumes regarding those players' lack of empathy and humanity. Harassment over what's basically a virtual doll game, disgusting. These are probably the same people that do not hold EA accountable for selling such a faulty game and instead buy the packs as soon as they launch, hence why they need the update and cannot wait and play offline.
I don't use mods, but what's wrong with buying packs when they come out. I've been playing with the new pack, and there's nothing wrong at all with, in fact, I'm quite enjoying it. The only things that seem to be a bit bugged in my game are gardening, my wedding stories, and for rent. Sometimes, dine out bugs a little but not too much.
@@Imreallyboredsick There’s nothing wrong with buying a pack when it first comes out imo, it’s your money and your game, do what you want. But I think it gives the developers more of an incentive NOT to fix the game because the player base is just gonna buy it anyways, so there’s no point. That’s how I see it, anyways 🤷🏽♀️
I took a break from playing days before the latest updates. That is because my laptop was being fixed. I also took a two day break after the updates. I do have a life outside of Sims 4. And I did wait patiently for the mods that I wanted to be updated. I also took a break today from the game. I know that things break, and it takes time to fix them. These Creators are not robots, but human beings with a life outside the internet. They also need a vacation.
I dont expect anything from modders, ive only started playing with mods last month, I expect things from EA because I have paid my money to them, I dont expect anything from modders because mods are free
Honestly if i were the mod creators, I wouldn't update the mods, just out of spite These simmers feel like mods are just something that you write 5 sentences and its out. I dont know how FULL GROWN ADULTS can act this way Its honestly just disappointing
NOBODY has the time to update their mods every 3 seconds that they decide to do updates. Everything breaks with every update, and a lot of these creators still have full time jobs. People doing this to modders is crazy.
How am I not shocked that it’s the wicked whims fans doing this… Ik not all wicked whims players are weird/perverted I’ve dabbled into it and I think it’s a pretty in depth mod, I do prefer wonderful whims for normal gameplay but it can be fun to shake things up with Wicked Whims. THAT BEING SAID the type of mod that Wicked Whims is I do think it’s very susceptible to drawing in audiences that aren’t the most well adjusted, aggressive, strange and borderline if not actual 🌽 addicts.
How about this, if the person is THAT experienced to DOX someone because their mod isn't updated, how about making the damn mod yourself?? Lol ridiculous. I agree with you.
I just find it crazy that people can get so mad over a game that people assume they are dead after a week of not updating and even doxed. I play Xbox I don't get the privilege of mods. These people who create these mods literally don't need to even update those mods. In the end it's a moment were people need to look in the mirror and ask themselves (did I really just do that?) because dang. I'm apart of several different gaming communities. DBD, RDR2, GTA and so on... But none of them are as bad as this. Not even DBD and people are toxic there. Seriously if your getting that mad or losing your mind so much so you forget that someone is human due to a game then you need to get your crap together and get a life outside of video games. Update. I just finished the video. This was about wicked wims? Bro.... I'm scared for humanity. Actually no.... I'm terrified for humanity... Y'all gotta try playing without mods because I'm begining to think that it's a bad...bad...BAD addiction that needs to stop now. Nothing against the modders infact I'm for the modders . But to be doxed over a corn mod? Your joking.
Ughhhh Tmex is amazing. They have done so much for this game, honestly I couldn't play without their tools and mods. Some people need to get a life, it's so gross. Thanks for talking about this Matt.
I would not blame the modders if they stopped completely. Harassment and doxxing is unacceptable. People need to touch grass
If a few don't like it that's tough on them.
if they do that then they need to cancel they patreon you cant take people's money and you get nothing in return.

SMH...

They're having a brain rot thats whyy
If i was the creator of the mod, i would release the update very late to punish them. Because nah, doxing is crazy for real.
Also Wicked Whims is still fully operational (at least for me) after the latest updates. So seriously, people are doxxing Turbodriver for... not updating a mod that still works like it did before the update and Lovestruck? Some people really are entitled and stupid.

dude wicked whims is gonna be hard to update, The sims basically stole the entire attraction thing, and turbo driver probably has to do a lot to make the new attraction system work with the actual sims one now together. people need to chill TF out. our modders are gonna go on strike if we don't stop this total bullshit.
The sims didn’t steal anything, it was in previous games.
plus he's on vacation and even announced that before the patch!

Yup, the raging handful are ruining it for the masses. Again. Super annoying.
Seriously modders carry this game when they don't even have to! Without mods I would've stopped playing years ago
Right because I have actually paid full price for the whole game. I’m 40 married with kids and I only play in my down time, who am I to rush someone?
Everytime there's an update, I keep the EA App offline for AT LEAST 4 WEEKS.
🤔 pro tip 🎉
same here, OR backup everything first (mods, save files, tray files, even screenshots folder)
the optional thing to do: backup the previous version of the game (the installation folder)
if you have 2 computers, just like me, use this method:
1. after backing up those folders above, go offline on your main computer. how to go offline? use youtube, there are so many tutorials for it.
2. on the secondary computer ( I assume that the mods and save folder are the same, if not, please backup those folders which I mentioned above, again), just do the play test mod. yes play testing which mod are broken, and keep an eye on scarlet mods list (a website, just google it), if there is an updated version of the mod, download it and play test it again on the secondary computer, do this without saving your progress
3. do the method, at least 2-3 weeks depending by how many mods that you have there and how long it will take for the modder to fix it.
with those method above, you can play offline on your main computer with the previous version of the game, and at a same time you can do the play test (to detect which mod are broken, obsolete, etc) on the secondary computer.
I always do this since I have 2 computers and it's a life saver, really.
Omg me too!! 🤙
I would 100% make people wait after that kind of treatment.
One is honestly on vacation they said they were going to be away for a few days :-/ people have lives get over it people lol
There was a Minecraft modder that used to do a similar thing. Everytime someone asked for an update or demanded anything etc, the modder would delay the release by a week, or something like that. They did it too, stuck to it and followed through.
I support this level of petty lol
If people want to throw hissy fits over mods needing time maybe they need to pull out their computer and learning how much mods can be an absolute pain
Exactly! If they are that pressed then they should learn how to create mods and CC
I cannot imagine how difficult and complex modding even is, I don't understand it so for me, I don't have a right to tell them how to do it, faster, or better. For some modders, I enjoy their work so much I'll wait. It's just that simple.
or pull open their door and go outside
Especially with coding it. It can sometimes be so much harder compared to designing artworks in 2D or 3D format
Y’all can understand how hard modding is but don’t give the game devs the same grace.
And anybody who’s threatening them over a mod they put the time and energy into…deserves something not nice…I’m gonna leave it at that.
dont stop weirdos from doing what you're passionate about/wanting to pursue! even if it's a one time thing.
But modders receive donations, they sell their mods.
@@Kristina-wj5kv donations are entirely optional tho, and are a way of showing gratitude to the mod creator
It's not like Sims 4 has Bethesda's Creation Club, where they do sell mods
@Kristina-wj5kv and it still doesn't excuse this behavior. Patreon is for supporters not consumers.
There is no excuse for this kind of behavior towards anyone. Full stop. Period.

Sims players have been like this for ages.
The only thing I have to say to these people is "how dare you"
And it's not strong enough
for those who can't wait for the modder to update their mods:
why don't you create your own? do you think modder aren't human being?
and the dumbest thing: why you updating the game in the first place? what is that for? it's not a competition for the first person who try the latest feature, right? your choice to update the game, your consequence to get the fact that the mods or cc that you are using there will broken.

Makes me feel fortunate to be in my 60s and knowing I was raised better.
@@columbia2635 yeah no the problem with that is that if you are in your 60s you may have been "raised better" but then its your generation that raised the current adults who raised the current children so its technically your generations fault we were raised like this (not YOU, your generation, which is a very BROAD group of people so no im not personally attacking you in any way 🤣)
If I was a modder and someone Doxed me over this, I would quit. Everyone would lose out. Modders owe us nothing...people are really insane.
Doxxing over a SIMULATION GAME is crazy. I'd totally understand if the modders walked away, this entitlement is out of control.
It's crazy to see some people that addicted to crabs and unwanted pregnancies in their game. Wow.
Don't forget "Peeping Tom"! Ewww.
Literally it's... expected? How do people not already expect mods to take a few weeks to catch up to the game?
If they doing all this to modders just imagine what ea is getting
I had to leave almost every SIMS Facebook group because all the whining about being annoyed about having to update mods with every update...and ALL the whining with every new pack announcement/release
I used to play on PC (sims1-early sims4) and now I'm currently a console player for the challenge of it (no mods, no cc, harder to build in console) and I'm not even operating the cheat window. We've literally had a pack drop, pre pack update, and 2 emergency updates in less than a week. Mod creators need time to adjust for each of those times... good grief! I couldn't agree with you more
Edited to state: I am not saying that anyone else should play like I do.
“Go outside and touch grass” 🤣🤣
People holding modders to higher standards than the company making the product we pay for
funny that people are only speaking up about this now, it's been like this for so long, sad that it took a big modder being doxxed for all this to come to light.
I don’t remember anyone being doxxed before this.
ikr
@@Binwit if this was just people complaining and being impatient i don't think it would've gotten to this point to begin with, many creators have been doxxed, a lot of cc creators and modders throughout the years, it's just that they weren't big enough for people to cover their story, which is the sad truth, a lot of creators on Tumblr have shared their stories.
The jerks that doxxed and harassed Turbo probably aren't even old enough to play with these mods
Sadly, the majority of Simmers aren't the problem and it's a few bratty children who just want to ruin it for everyone else.
Exactly what I was thinking. If I was a mod creator I’d never want to give these people anything again
Modders start blocking those people and tell them to eat trash
I literally wait about a week before I update my mods, even then, I don’t care if it’s updated or not, I can check it later. If I want to play before things are updated, I make a vanilla save and play that.
THISSSS!!!!!
this situation makes me sick.
I started playing at 8 years old 😅😂 the Sims1
@@eni4eva770 for me it was TS4
@@ReaganGGaming0 lolol haha. awww so you must be young. im a millenial
Assuming someone died because they havent updated a mod yet is insane ☠️☠️☠️😭
Wow. The fact that some people have been doxing/harassing a modder over pixel porn is just effing ridiculous. Wth is wrong with people...😮💨
OMG how can somebody be missing in action in a week? People have lives this is not their life
This is appalling behaviour, no excuses!
As a simmer who doesn't use mods i had no idea this was going on but these people dont deserve the mods if they cant even see the value in it
I firmly believe the modders are well within their rights (and possibly even obligation) to just pull their mods if this harassment continues.
You tell them. This is why we can't have nice things 😪 RESPECT THE MODDERS!!
I play console, but it’s always other people that be ruining things 😭 Smh!
@@bubblesakamori898 yeah no joke! Always some idiot that ruins it for the rest of us 😒
Thank you for speaking out. This is ridiculous! Mods saved sims 4 and the modders should be treated better.
like... it's not even long. a few days... and EA pushes so many fix-updates, how should a normal human being with a life do that? They need jobs, too, they are doing it as a hobby. There are even people "demanding" modders to let other modders fix their updates, just because they are bored.
yeah! Pixelade said it perfectly
I’m a teen who’s been playing the sims since my cousin showed me it when i was like, what 8? I only started using mods late 2023 bc i finally went ps to pc and since I’ve downloaded mods i’m like “woah wtf” bc i’m now seeing simmers on a whole different prospective. This is disgusting bro, and i’m saying that as a literal minor
(My edit was me fixing my grammar💀🙌)
Honestly some people need to learn patience and kindness
I took a break from playing days before the latest updates. That is because my laptop was being fixed. I also took a two day break after the updates. I do have a life outside of Sims 4. And I did wait patiently for the mods that I wanted to be updated. I also took a break today from the game. I know that things break, and it takes time to fix them. These Creators are not robots, but human beings with a life outside the internet. They also need a vacation.
The words absolutely positively and seriously all replace literally in a more effective way
I dont expect anything from modders, ive only started playing with mods last month, I expect things from EA because I have paid my money to them, I dont expect anything from modders because mods are free
Honestly if i were the mod creators, I wouldn't update the mods, just out of spite
These simmers feel like mods are just something that you write 5 sentences and its out.
I dont know how FULL GROWN ADULTS can act this way
Its honestly just disappointing
This may shock some people but modders have lives outside of the sims!
How can people complain so much when they get, what is especially, an expansion for free? People are so freaking entitled.
I feel bad for the modders.
NOBODY has the time to update their mods every 3 seconds that they decide to do updates. Everything breaks with every update, and a lot of these creators still have full time jobs. People doing this to modders is crazy.
How am I not shocked that it’s the wicked whims fans doing this…
Ik not all wicked whims players are weird/perverted I’ve dabbled into it and I think it’s a pretty in depth mod, I do prefer wonderful whims for normal gameplay but it can be fun to shake things up with Wicked Whims.
If you can't live without virtual corn for a couple days, you really need help!
This is disgusting... You tell'em Matt!
