Fun fact: in the Ragnarök myth, Freyr is destined to be killed by Surtr, who remarks on his death that things would had been different if he had his sword before he died
For a bit of clarity from a Nordic, the whole 'only the worthy can lift Mjölnir' is a Marvel thing, there's no such thing in the actual mythology. Instead only those who have the extraordinary strength of the strongest giants can lift it, of which in the mythology there are very few. Thor himself actually uses a magic belt to further enhance his strength to allow him to lift the hammer.
From God of War to God of Peace…….what a journey.
I still like the idea of him being the God of War but like Tyr he stops wars.
But without kratos there will be no god of war

@@BSM-vw6cf then I will not even watch the trailer of the game atleast becuz kratos is the main protag in the entire gow franchise so without him no god of war will be there and plzz dont talk about atreus in the next gow game he is now in his own path and literally we r done with the norse saga so I think there will be next pantheon with will come in next

Without kratos not even single players will play the game mark my word and technically he is not the god of peace becuz at the shrine it was showed that people r worshipping him which doesn't make any sense for becoming the god of peace and he is still the god of war and eventually there's no brutality like gow3 in the past two games so it's not fun all the times
That scene where Kratos discovers that he will be loved by the people really hit me. You see his body trembling ave his eyes widen. This entire series was a redemption arc for him. I started to get watery eyed from just his body language.
He finally got what he was searching for all those years ago. What he wanted from the Greek Gods. Redemption. What a journey.
The moment we march into Asgard for war I felt an adrenaline rush like I had not felt since the final battle scene in Endgame. This is one of not just greatest games I’ve ever played, it’s also one of the best sequel/conclusions to a saga I have ever seen on screen!
I cried no less than 4 times at this game, both at heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. And now we have seen not only Atreus/Loki grow into his own, we have seen Kratos finally do something I thought impossible…..open his heart not just for his wife and son, but to the world. The moment he breaks down after seeing his tryptic shrine and sees that he becomes a good and beloved god I cried just as hard with him. To know that even after all the horrible things he had done that there was redemption for him. And Atreus/Loki making the decision to leave his father and journey to find the rest of his people, I was damn near broken, this must be what parents feel like when their kids graduate and leave home.
The one thing that I had a problem with is that the “true ending” is with the funeral with Brok. I loved how it was done but I don’t want the conclusion to this game to be not just saying goodbye to Brok but seeing Sindri completely broken, and implying that he may never recover from his grief and guilt. But still it is a masterpiece of a game.
Thank you Corey Barlog, Eric Williams and all the great geniuses behind making this game. I will treasure it always.😭😭😭👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Legit I’ve had the soundtrack playing on blast like crazy. Blood upon the snow, the ending of svartelheim theme, Gryla, Atreus theme, and Raebs lament
The score was just next level. The blowing of the horn scene gets me welled up every time just from the swell of the music. This is definitely a rare case of needing the soundtrack.
Kratos' journey has come full circle. I couldn't have wished for a better ending. So freaking happy.
I think the bright light fake out was clever when Atraeus gets knocked out. At first it makes you wonder if he made it and shows a bright light like the light of Alfheim which makes you think maybe he made it to the other side where his mom's spirit went to, and also with the valkerie sitting right there it's like an angel is watching over him. Angels also being associated with the afterlife.
The story in this episode is when you cry the most. That shows that you understand and fin with the character's role. How much effort does the creator of the game make to make the game look good? Makes players feel very emotional P.S. No matter how hard you cry. You're still beautiful, honestly. The reaction was sincere.

That final shrine is what just tops everything off. Originally it had Kratos dead at Thor’s feet. However, since Kratos showed mercy, and chose the path of Justice and saving the innocent rather than vengeance, Angrboda saw a new future and changed the shrine to reflect Kratos as a god who would be worshipped and loved, as a god of Justice and peace.
It throws back to what Odin said earlier when he asked Kratos if he’d ever been worshipped, if he could ever know love like that. Now he will.
It’s also awesome that Odin ends up in the exact position that Kratos was supposed to be in according to the shrines. Right down to the path the soul takes to go into the marble. Pretty amazing.
im so glad i found someone who cried just has much as i did for the whole brok and sindri thing. I was miserable throughout the funeral.
One thing I didn't notice until I'd watched this scene several times over: as Sindri looks out at the boat burning, you can see his eyelids start to flutter a bit, almost as if he's about to pass out from grief. Then Kratos says his name and you can instantly see his mouth set and his eyes harden again. The only thing keeping him going is his anger toward Kratos and Atreus, but even that isn't enough as you see his grief overwhelm him again at 1:59:36. His rage is his lifeline, and he clings to it so desperately that it has eaten away at him until there's nothing left of the Sindri we knew.
Amazing acting and awareness by the narrative team to consider those small details.

It’s twitch though. They don’t care about their creators at all and only the donations from the viewers that the creators get, but twitch takes like 30% or something like that of the money from the stream which feels like robbery if you ask me. Besides that I agree with you the playthrough was amazing
one of the theories from the 2018 game was that kratos is tyr, well he wasn't, but he kinda replaced him and i loved it
Sindri deserved better. He honestly did. But again... this is war. War has consequences. The Norse world may be at peace. But Brok was Sindri's world. And he's gone.

Loved your playthrough of GOWR, it's always great seeing someone else loving your favorite game.
It's gonna be interesting to see what happens to the franchise now.
My personal theory is that they will split up the franchise and make God of War with Kratos, Mimir and Freya traveling to Egypt, and Atreus and Angrboda will get a spin-off series called "Loki" going somewhere else in search for the giants since Týr did travel to other mythologies, he could have helped the giants hide them there.

Kratos is the man who is carrying the logs but the for him the logs were the Blades
The music during the final assault on Asgard when you're in the trenches is so good! It's epic, but not in a "this is fun" way, but rather in emphasizing that war is terrible and that what is happening around you is horrific.
My favorite game of all time as well. This is what video games are all about. Beyond epic... so fuckin good.

Unfortunately it didn't win GOTY, but if we look at the bright side, it did bagged the rest of the nominations it's in.
Well, a large majority of them at least.
While Elden ring did win GOTY, GoW Ragnarok won GOTY in our hearts and Thats what matters.

Waited all the way to the end before doing any of the side quests, so she was missing Atreaus, Sindri and Brok. So much character development missed, so many character interactions missed, so much story missed. What a waste of a playthrough.
