In this video Nouman Ali Khan highlights a major issue in the world. Materialism promises you happiness & enjoyment but people fail to realise that there setting an example for the young people & others in society & if there goals are only in terms of materialism then you will see society all striving for the same thing & there will be corruption & inbalance in the world.
Thats why we see so many depressed people, they neglect there other responsibilities in order to just chase wealth & become really miserable.
God created you for a higher purpose, so don't set your goals this low.
-Give time to your health
-Give time to your family
-Give time to your job
-Give time to Allah
Nouman Ali Khan is encouraging people to strike a balance with there wealth, use it to help other people & build the final residence in the hereafter.
So don't become deluded by these advertisments, they want you to feel ungrateful when in fact Allah has given you so many blessings!

I pray to Allah that he makes me the richest man walking on this earth without loosing the remembrance of him and to still perform all acts of ibaadah and to perform the Fardh prayers on time (without missing the first takbeera) and to perform many good deeds with money and to have the ability to handle being the richest man on this world. Perfect example is Mohamed Salah. He earns a lot from football. Can afford almost anything. But in his heart, Allah is #1 priority and how he can express that love and strength through sport.
i am a high school student who were working part time jobs. i bought a mid range phone with my own money. But im not being grateful anymore. i start to think that i should use my money to buy expensive things like iphone 11 max pro and so on. I feel that what i feel right now is just a whisper of nafs that i shouldn't listen to and aren't healthy for my self. I must appreciate things that I already own.

What allah has is better and it lasts longer so now every time I think about anything in dunya. When I think about house, car, money whatever I think of. I have to compare what allah has given me here to what allah will give me in the akhira and two comparisons always come in my mind:

The problem with living a simple life in western society is that you become invisible to people and beautiful women in particular. So while I agree with everything Nouman is saying, its generally impossible to get ahead and be taken seriously by people as we’re naturally judged on our status and station in life. Its sad but its human nature.
You have to do everything to please our creator not to please mankind ,it's the essence of life.

First of all, this lecture is very enlightening. But there is one thing that is confusing me. As far as I know, drawing images or pictures of anything that have soul is haram. But you used pictures and drawing of living things here! Isn't it haram! If not, can please tell your reasoning behind it.
Imran rahman As far as my knowledge is concerned, images of Prophet & companions which creates a sense of idolatry shall be prohibited. But these pictures gave us a hint of knowing the things as pictures with lecture has a longer retention than the lecture

Drawing pictures on paper or phisical thing is haram ,but in the vedio they are virtual, and virtual is not last long so it's not haram, for further more knowledge search about digital photograph are haram or not , you'll get your answer brother, increase your knowledge for shake of Allah.

Most of this is correct, except anything to do with a higher power.
No eternal reward for forgive us now for wasting the dawn.... But... that doesn't make endless materialism and excess the right way to use the time we have.
Actually... a life of selfish recklessness would make MORE sense, if one were expecting to get another life to start over with. That's why like..........practically.... every war ever...
Knowing this life is it, is a perfect reason to be good and moral and care about others more than ourselves... when one has an overabundance while we're here. As far as I can make any sense, anyway.

Well I think the promise of an afterlife is perhaps the only thing that keeps us in check. Most religions dont believe that life starts over. This life is test. In afterlife thers the result. Hope of heaven and fear of hell creates balance. If this life is all we have and theres no higher power accounting us, theres no reason to not become selfish and reckless. Maximise pleasure and minimise pain will become our motto.
