Motion and light sensors are useful in cases where we don't want to have a light on all the time.
Essentialy they are an alternative to a simple button switch, with the only difference being that they turn the bulb on and off depending on the light or motion they detect.
In some cases though, you might want to be able to turn the light on with a switch, the old fashioned way.
So it is possible to add a normal switch to the whole setup, and effectively "direct" the current either to the sensor or directly to the bulb. This way the bulb will light up either from the switch (permanently on) or from the sensor.
The setup I describe is for a typical household single phase AC power system.
The connection is quite simple.
You 'll need a switch with three contacts. One is the common contact, one is the normaly open and the other is the normaly closed contact.
The sensor itself has also three contacts on the back. One is marked "L", the middle one is marked "N" and the last one is also marked "L".
One of the two L contacts is the power supply contact. It's where the Live wire is feeding power to the sensor so it can operate. This contact can be called the "L in" contact, because it receives the live wire from the house's electrical system.
The second "L" contact is the power terminal that the sensor is directing to the bulb. From this contact it supplies power directly to the bulb, so it can be called "L out".
The middle contact is the Neutral contact, where we connect the neutral wire from the house's electrical system.
This contact is needed so the sensor can operrate and also at this same contact we connect the other wire from the bulb, because the bulb also deeds a neutral wire to operate.
On the switch :
The terminal marked as "L" is the common contact. That's where we connect the live wire from the house's power system.
One of the other terminals of the switch is connected to the "L in" terminal of the sensor, and the remaining terminal of the switch is connected to the "L out" contact of the sensor.
So with this setup, we effectively direct the live wire either to the sensor or directly to the bulb (bypassing the sensor).
And we can either turn on the bulb from the switch, and it will stay on permanently, or use the sensor, which will turn it on and off according to it's settings.
It is important that the Live wire from the electric system is connected to the common contact of the switch, marked as L, otherwise the trick will not work. We need that live wire bringing power to the common contact of the switch and not to one of the other contacts.
And naturaly it is only possible with a commutator switch that has 3 contacts, as mentioned above.
The same trick can work with a flood light with integrated sensor, just be careful of the connections.
The shcematics that come with the sensor provide a useful way to determine where to connect each wire.

Αυτό ακριβώς ήθελα να κάνω δηλαδή bypass αισθητήρα για να ανάβουν οι λάμπες μόνιμα (κατ επιλογή) και δεν ήμουν σίγουρος αν μπορώ να χρησιμοποιήσω ale retour διακόπτη σαν on/on για να γίνεται το bypass. Ευχαριστω πολύ

Μάστορα μπορούμε να βάλουμε 2 αισθητήρες στον ίδιο διακόπτη;
Ναι γίνετε αλλά όχι να ανάβουν τις ίδιες λάμπες όσους θέλουμε καλή χρονιά να έχουμε
Κ. Γιάννη να ρωτήσω εγώ τώρα... Το έκανα και είναι κομπλέ... Δουλεύει.. Αλλά όταν είναι σε λειτουργία με φωτοκύτταρο ο προβολέας έχει λίγο φως... Για ποιο λόγο γίνεται αυτό? Ξέρεις?
Δεν κατάλαβα παράξενο μπορεί να έχει πρόβλημα το μάτι δεν μου έτυχε κάτι τέτοιο
τελείως Μαστρογιάννη για αυτούς που δεν καταλαβαίνουν να τους τα εξηγήσεις έτσι η φάση με δύο επιστροφές αλλιώς δύο διακόπτες αλέ ρετούρ ταυτόχρονα μπορεί να γίνουν και τρεις και τέσσερις διακόπτες εννοώ και φωτοκύτταρα

Κύριε Γιάννη κάνε και ένα χωρίς το μάτι με 2 διακόπτες και ένα μία λάμπα για χρήση μέσα στο σπίτι Π.Χ ανάβω απο την μια μεριά του δωματίου και κλείνω αό την άλλη μεριά.

@@IoannisDiakopoulos το ιδιο ρευμα θα ειναι κυριε Γιαννη.στο σπιτι ερχεται μια ιδια φαση απ τη ΔΕΗ.οποτε ολες οι φασεις εχουν το ιδιο ρευμα.εκτως αν εχουμε τριφασικο ρευμα.τοτε θελει προσοχη να μην στειλουμε απο 2 διαφορετικες φασεις γιατι εκει,μολις συναντηθουν οι δυο φασεις θα κανει "μπουμ"...συνεχιστε ετσι.μαθαινουμε πολλα!!!
