I worked with a personal trainer for 2 years. He’s currently an IFBB pro, and I learned a whole lot from working with him. My parents paid for it so I had to do it😂. But ever since that dude, I’ve never needed a personal trainer to help me out. I’m still learning stuff through UA-cam. After all this time I think you get out what you put in. Train hard and don’t be afraid of failing lifts. Always find ways to get better 💪
Hey man, I appreciate this video. I feel like a lot of people jump into the gym and don’t realize that there’s more than “lift heavy weight and go home”. When influencers use videos like this one to put out there what is bullshit and what is not, it helps. Keep it up Justin!
tbf a good PT for even the first few weeks could help you skip all the wasted time of lifting with bad form, not training hard enough etc. That's mostly directed towards a coach rather than a PT but a good one could benefit a beginner
PTs at my gym are so bad. While their clients are doing sets, they're smiling and chatting the whole time and never pushing it at all. Form is bad too. A PT definitely doesn't guarantee that you will learn good form or intensity.
Nothing wrong with gym gloves. I've been lifting for 20 years, and nobody has ever said a damn thing about me wearing gym gloves. Anyone that talks negative about gym gloves is a gym noob themselves. I use gym gloves because my wrist and hands are wrecked from football and I sweat a lot when I lift. Gym gloves with wrist supports are life savers for me. I used to lift without gym gloves, and I know the feeling of the bar against the hands. It feels great, but gym gloves have their place. Talking down on gloves is just showing your lack of understanding. Besides, I guarantee nobody would tell Ronnie Coleman that he's a noob.
@@Jermaine_666 I completely agree. Most of the people that judge others in the gym are people that just gained their newbie gains and assume they know everything there is about the gym. Social media hasn't helped with that case either. Most people that have been in the gym for quite some time are usually willing to help new people in the gym without judgement.
Real noob is someone that judge people .... as long as they feel comftble for what they using, you dont have the right to judge them based on your opinion, you dont know the reason why or what they been through, etc they have injured before so they need to use gloves or strap
I'm still using gloves when benching and will probably never stop. Mainly because of a condition that makes my hands sweat and the bar slips, chalk doesn't help. The other reason is I'm a physical therapist in training so my hands can't get too messed up
PT of 12 years here. There are a lot of bad PT's but there are good ones too and to say a gym buddy is the same is like saying your uncle filming a family event is the same as a professional videographer. Or cutting your hair at home is the same as a hairdresser. Perhaps in some scenarios it's unnecessary but every day I step foot in a commercial gym. No exaggeration, every time! I see people making mistakes either dangerous or sub-optimal just walking in and making my way to the water fountain. Do your research and get a good PT, if you plan to get one and can afford it.
Disagree on the gloves but agree on the rest but of course, I'm speaking for myself. My skin is so sensitive that my hands have actually bled with only 1 set of dumbbell curls with no gloves. So, I need them whether I like it or not. Plus, I still find it smart to wear them if it makes you feel comfortable. The important thing is to get things done correctly
Yo big dawg, you have so much potential to be a huge influencer. Your a strong natty you give solid advise and your a likeable person. I wanna see the collabs I wanna see the long Grindy sessions and I want more content.
Long length partials might be better, 4 studies have pointed to long length partials being better than full rom while 1 pointed to no difference. So saying full rom is king may be incorrect
disagree on the straps. i feel a lot in my lats during my pulldowns with no straps, so im training my grip too, slightly. I could probably use straps for maximal gains but honestly i would rather get some grip strength in the process.
I only use straps for deadlifts and rdls. Those are the only grip limited exercises for me. Never had my grip be the limiting factor on vertical or horizontal pulls
Personally, I have noticed that I fatigue much faster when I do not take preworkout, compared to when I take it. Or sometimes I can do steady state cardio much longer by maybe 25%. Again that is me, results may vary including having to go to the bathroom.
Depends on whether it's a stimulant or non stim focused PWO. Caffeine PWO is good for energy and focus though I don't use it myself since it ruins my sleep. Then there's the stim-free pump focused stuff which gives me insane pumps. It probably also increases performance by a tiny amount.
I wear gloves because i have a symptom where my palm are always sweaty, dont want the equipment to slip and crush my skull. Also thats why i dont have straps, i dont know if there is any strap+ gloves combination gloves, if there is, i will buy it
@@samuelwoods7110 nope, my sweat would still spew out and mixed with the chalk. Then it would turn into a paste like substance, mud alike texture. Its not effective and also it makes the equip, ent dirty as fuk lol. Never using it again

Personal training standards and pricing are the problem. Not the trainers themselves. It's important to know that each trainer only has certain amount of knowledge and that not one personal trainer is going to have all the answers. It is so dangerous to go to gym with someone who also has no idea what they're doing and they push you to do something that is going to have an overalll negative benefit. Please do not speak in a career practice you have no experience in. 😂
I'm confused about this video. You say we shouldn't watch if we can't take a joke (or probably meant to say that), implying it's not to be taken seriously. However, most of these are legitimate points, like "slingshot reps", only doing partials, the power bro, thinking straps are cheating and gymshark bros. But what's wrong with using gym gloves? It doesn't take away from your performance and it protects your hands.
I would say that it does take away from your performance in the long term. It's not like you're a woman to protect your hands because you want them to be smooth and feminine. I honestly have seen more dudes in my gym with gloves than women and it's just useless af. Your hands won't be magically destroyed if you don't wear gloves but your hands will be so much stronger in normal day to day activies and in the gym if you don't use gloves.
