Splatoon 3 - Squid Punisher Challenge (Splattershot Pro)

This is the Squid Punisher Challenge the series where we use Respawn Punisher on ALL WEAPONS in Splatoon 3. Some weapons may thrive with this gear ability some might not. One thing is for sure is that the Respawn Punisher perk forces you to play a different style of Splatoon that you might not be used too.

RP and haunt used to negate cooler but was changed in version 2.1.0

I think RP technically does affect Tacticooler, but it just adds a bit onto the respawn rather than cancel the effect like it used to. So RP just makes Cooler go from "respawn instantly" to "respawn near-instantly", which doesn't matter much

@@colorsF What I mean is, the time it shows to respawn stays the same, but respawn time is more than just that timer. It's also how long it takes for that spawn time to show up. That's why Tacticooler respawn is really about 2-3 seconds and not half a second.
RP on Tacticooler increases the time it takes for that timer to show up by a small amount. But since that timer is still super fast, it barely matters, but the difference is still noticeable

@@EclipseKirby it's true that it barely affects the respawn time, but it is also notable that it affects the special charge too; you won't retain 100% of your special charge if you get respawn punished, which DOES feel significant, in my opinion at least

I think a good fix to the respawn punisher and tacticooler problem would be if RP cancels out the effect of the cooler, meaning that when you die to RP with cooler still active, you don’t get the quick respawn of cooler but you don’t get punished by RP either.

Oh I'm going to enjoy this series. I always have respawn punisher on mainly to keep myself playing defensively (and I'm always playing backline now) and keep from devolving to my tunnel-visioned enemy feeding trislosher days on Splat2.

It only makes sense to pair long range weapons with respawn punisher.

Punisher used to nullify the effect of Tacticooler. Anyone got a drink and then kill by a e-Litre Punisher will get the highest respawn time and special lost.
That was patch few months after the game released so now the calculation apply to both Tacticooler and Punisher. People will respawn quickly but in a bit longer and with low special lost.

If I remember correctly, RP used to completely negate Tacticooler’s QR effects when the game launched, but then later in one of the patches, it was changed to not affect Tacticooler’s QR, but completely negate RP instead.

Back in the splatoon 2 days i would exclusively play respawn punisher pro. You call it a handicap i call it a learning experience😂

RP is strong. In a 4v4 game, being unevenly matched is a huge advantage. If your personal ratio is in the positive, it's very strategic.
