Why McDonald's Is Unhealthy

  • It probably comes as no surprise that McDonald's isn't the healthiest choice, but sometimes it just seems like the right one. Maybe you had no time to cook dinner and you run your kids through the drive-thru, maybe the screaming toddlers you're babysitting want some ice cream, maybe you've been craving one of those beautiful-looking burgers or maybe you're on the go and just need something quick to eat. It's totally understandable that you chose McDonald's for your meal. McDonald's is getting healthier right? Well, that's wrong.

    I eat about 2500-2700 calories per day split in two meals. I ate 1300 calories for lunch at McDonald’s today and got very sleepy and was hungry 2 hours later. Normally when I eat that many calories of food that I cooked myself then I’m full for over 12 hours.

    It’s not specifically the mcdonalds food that caused the weight gain, anyone would gain a ton of weight eating 5,000 calories a day. I’m not saying that mcdonalds is super good for you, but you don’t just eat at mcdonalds and gain a ton of weight if you’re eating a normal amount of calories.

      The thing about the study is he's supposed to eat until he feels satisfied to make it more authentic. Despite the high caloric number, McDonald's doesn't satisfy you in the same way how other foods do. When I make egg fried rice at home, I'm able to feel full even if it's only 600 calories. A big mac (which has the same number of calories) doesn't remotely satisfy me. It's like this for everyone

  • @exnexe
    @exnexe 3 роки тому +67

    But that's ridiculous. Eating twice your daily calorie intake regardless of where you at would be bad for you. The real question and real study would be, is mcdonald's bad for you if you strictly way there, but choose the healthiest options off their menu, and don't over eat. Super size me is flawed from the start because simply eats too much.

    • @ChaosBW

      Eating twice your daily calories is NOT bad for you IF you are a body builder
      To build just one pound of muscle you should be taking in twice your daily "needed" calories
      Just avoid sugar
      Remember that scientists and doctors are business men as well, they will take money to lie
      The sugar company paid billions to the FDA to lie about it's health effects and blame animal fats for the obesity epidemic
      The worst thing at McDonald's isn't the burgers it's the soda

      This is accurate. I work at McDonald's and eat a double quarter pounder every day. Roughly 700 calories out of my 3,200 daily intake. I never get a drink and I never eat fries. I am around 15% body fat. I would consider myself very healthy. Seems ridiculous that people think a 300 calorie drink of pure sugar with 400 calories of fries is the same as a 700 calorie burger.

    • @epicmoments2049
      @epicmoments2049 10 місяців тому +1

      Weight gain is a result of a calorie surplus which you ate more than you burn in calories. To lose weight you need to create a calorie deficit which means to burn more calories than calories gained through eating. You also burn calories by your metabolism which burns them in the background. Thats why methods such as starving yourself are bad. While you may temporarily lose weight, its not entirely fat weight and will cause your body to lose muscle, cause nutrition defficiences, and hurt your metabolism as your body slows it down to survive.

    The voice over at 1:18 and the accompanying slide do not make sense together. The voice over says "Almost everything in a McDonald's burger is low in protein and high in carbs and fats". The shown slide is highlighted to demonstrate the high carbs (43g, 16% daily value - doesn't seem too high? but ok) and high fats (40g, 51% daily value - yeah that's definitely up there). But what seems very out of place is the UN-highlighted portion of that same slide, which says protein is 49g, or 98% of DV... nearly ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of daily value. It would seem to be _very_ high in protein, not low at all.

    So cheap? What. How many loaves of freshly baked bread could you buy for 5.99? Have you ever heard of a knife, and butter and some ( im not telling you brand) cheese. But seriously, i stopped eating mcds in 2016. I got the same symptoms every time. Like someone continually prodding my lower abdominal area combined with a nauseating nagging pain, for up to 2 weeks. I also get the same thing after eating tesco own brand food products. Silicol gel is the only thing ive found which stops or calms the problem.

    I eat McDonald’s when traveling on vacation when restaurants are limited , a convenient breakfast when time is limited, after bar hopping every blue moon. It’s called fast food for reason. Used to eat that crap for lunch daily when I was young and didn’t care about health.

    I always thought that the documentary was hollow because the real message is that its more important what you eat as opposed to where you eat. If you cooked the same meals at home as mcdonalds you’d probably take in more food calories because mcdonalds is more efficient with its food portions and resources to make those portions.

      Also not to mention that high sodium and high cholesterol will damage your health even if you were to run that amount daily.

      @Beniamin Radomir You burn 1800 calories a day doing nothing, and a big mac is 563 calories. The calorie problem is with surplus calories, not with just eating calories in the first place. Sodium in a big mac is about 2/3 the daily recommended amount, and saturated fats are about 1/2 the daily amount. So if you're able to not overshoot with the rest of your calories and eat low sodium and saturated fats, it's not that bad. The actual problem is the addictiveness of the food and the fact it's not very filling for taking up 560 calories, which means in practice your probably gonna overshoot your calories, sodium, and saturated fats substantially over the course of a day unless you're consciously tracking them.

The collapse of the film makers body was severe…dangerous…and the doctor who was supervising his 30 “experiment” was muttering after three weeks about his hippocratic oath . And he gained about 10 pounds. It was that bad. Failing liver function, failing kidneys, hearth irregularities and a diagnosis of onset diabetes. In a month. And it was clearly addictive(the sugar content) What more evidence do you want? Make your own sandwiches at home, take a thermos of coffee. From now on. It will almost certainly extend your life, maybe by a lot.

    Welp even if you gain a lot of fat
    Well I ate McDonald’s at Friday at 8:35.
    Today my belly was hurting a lot and my chest was itchy my heart was pounding faster then it would usually do.
    So I decided to take a number 2. So my cousin eats McDonald’s daily every time he comes from school
    So I don’t know how he dosent feel it but I know he told me he digestes it fast so maybe it dosent occur as fast.
    And moving on to my story. So then after I went out to the bathroom I felt way better! I also gained 7 pounds from it…
    So then I decided I’m not gonna eat McDonald’s that much anymore😢 but I’m gonna eat Wendys.Burger King Taco Bell.
    ‘ETC’ and later in these days I’m gonna not eat that much McDonald’s from now on
