it's a soy protein that's freeze dried so it's hella cheap and expands a LOT, it's also what she used for the sloppy joe's, you can buy Bob's Red Mill brand of tvp it's this: www.bobsredmill.com/tvp-textured-veg-protein.html
Yes its is, they come in all forms and shapes, just boil it up with broth then squeeze the water out. Dry rub it or marinate it and fry it in a pan (like in the video). Just google textured vegetable/soy protein for more information.
I made Orange Chicken with Soy Curls last weekend (after finally finding soy curls on Amazon) and it was DELICIOUS! The only thing I decided to do differently was double the sauce. OH, and I had orange juice but no orange, so I didn't add zest. Still, AMAZING! Thank you Edgy Veg

I made the sloppy joes this evening. I never would've thought to mix lentils & beefless ground together but these sloppy joes are even better than the meat version! (& im saying this as a mostly-pescetarian-who-misses-meat-and-still-eats-it-sometimes). I'm trying more & more vegan recipes & I seriously enjoyed that one! Thanks!

Could you please develop a yummy "meatloaf" recipe using lentils or such? My husband so loves the Amy's meatloaf, and I tried recreating it but failed, plus it's too expensive for us as we care for many rescue animals. It would be awesome to have a homemade version. If you have Quorn products available to you, give them a try. They do mince (ground round), nugget-sized pieces (for the Orange Chicken, can't wait to try it!), fillets, schnitzels, sausages and more and my non-vegan husband enjoys them more than I do. :)

I made my hubby stir fry with this and he swear he was eating meat.... He's a tuff cookie to fool.. Aslong I don't use tofu he will try it... giggles I usually use Hoosier soy chunks for my orange chicken... Also it's best to buy it from supplier cause Amazon charge extra...
More people should know about soy curls. They're such a good meat replacement that's better than the typical processed frozen alternative.

Viltan I used one tablespoon of TVP in my spaghetti sauce just to give it some thickness. I also like Gardein Beef Crumbles. They are great too!!!

I buy Wizards Worcestershire sauce which is vegan. If you cant get that simply leave it out :)
