I always get embarrassed when people ask me why I became a vegan because it was for such a petty reason. Someone was complaining about how hard it was to be vegan so I was all like "I doubt it's really that hard" and I dropped cold turkey and have been a vegan for a couple months now.
Also with the end of the school year about to happen and the nice summer weather right around the corner you could make a video about what to eat at a barbecue or picnic.
JAMation. awww don't feel bad. I live a semi vegan lifestyle. I have watched factory farming videos but now I eat mostly halal and kosher meats. I eat dairy but also fully embrace and enjoy coconut milk and fake cheeses. I can't have soy cause I'm allergic along with most of my children. So yeah don't feel bad. I live in both worlds lol.
I am not a Vegan, but I have been with my girlfriend for 9 months and she is a die hard Vegan. I love to cook and experiment with food. I have made so much vegan stuff and I love it. I just wanted to share that I use your videos often for inspiration so thank you.
This channel does not get enough love. Omg everything you make is crazy amazing!! No one would ever worry about going vegan if they saw your recipes!! Saving the planet one delicious dish at a time.
Just made the Spinach & Sausage Gnocchi and am eating right now. It's delicious! I've been making one new recipe from your site each week and you do not disappoint. Thank you so much Edgy Veg, it hasn't been a struggle to go vegetarian since I found your site. I am edging my way toward being vegan every week!
I literally just made the carbonara pasta and omg!!! it's delicious! I made some changes because I didn't have all the ingredients but nonetheless it was amazing! -Instead of the mushrooms I used one slice of smoked tofu turkey -instead of the tofu for the sauce I used chickpeas -instead of the soy milk used almond milk -instead of the cashews I used almonds Its my fist time watching your videos and I can't wait to try more of your dishes!!!
Candice! I just tried the carbonara and I was awesome! Next time I'd try to make the mushrooms more bacon-y, smokey but the rest was pure perfection. My wife and I will definitely try the other pasta recipes, too. Thank you so much. Love from Germany.
I was skeptical with the vegan ingredients as I thought it would be tasteless. But then I tried, and it works, and it's so good/similar with the real thing! Can't believe vegan food can actually taste good. Thanks for the foolproof recipe!
Pasta itself is loaded with carbs. Olive oil as well as several other oils have many vitamins and nutrients in them. And used in moderation they aren't unhealthy at all.
I agree about whole wheat pasta etc. however, that's not what she used here. She used regular pasta. So a little olive oil isn't going to hurt the situation. The human body needs a certain amount of body fat to insulate the organs and provide other functions. If food is supposed to be palatable, sacrifices will have to be made. Realistically it's impossible to make a dinner that's 100% healthy, unless you grow everything you eat yourself. That way you can control pesticides, soil mineral and pollutant content, and the quality of care given to the growing plants. Compromise will always be necessary because we have taste buds to account for, as individuals, and as a greater ape :)

GIRL. i had to pause the video and just comment that you remind me soooooo much of Zoey Deschanel! You even sound like her. (I've always been obsessed with her). New subbie here loved these recipes! :)
As someone who came along the channel based on the new stuff this was crazy to see a 3 year old edgy video! So great to see the channel has been around providing great content this long!
I am new to the vegan lifestyle. I've eaten meat and dairy my whole life so it's quite an adjustment. I've been searching for entree recipes and your channel came up. I can't wait to try these out. Thank you so much for the recipe ideas. Breakfast and lunch are easy for me as I pretty much always ate vegan for those meals. It's just dinner time and the main entree that's a challenge. Have a great day! 🌻
I have now made all 3 of these pastas! Made number 1 + 2 last few weeks and just finished making the gnocchi one :D so pleased! Thank you for the recipes x
Love. I cannot wait to make those for my three kiddos. I also cannot wait to grab a copy of your cookbook, so excited. Thanks for making the conversion to Veganism so delicious!
I'm honestly not even vegan (yet, I'm currently pescatarian as a transition to vegetarianism, but I try to eat vegan when I can.), but honestly these recipes look so delicious that I cannot wait to try them.
I just made pasta #3 for dinner but instead of using gnocchi I used chickpea pasta and it is sooooo good! Thanks for your wonderful recipe. I will try the other 2 soon.
they look yummy...I LOVE PASTA and i do eat it every day, I work in a pasta shop with my family. i'm looking to add vegan meals in my diet to change up meals. As I watched I noticed that the sauce didn't look as creamy as it could have been if you would have added a little pasta water at then end. thanks for sharing look forward to trying them out...
I'm definitely making the first two. I've never made cashew cream sauce but I think I'm going to try it. You inspired my last night's dinner. You're in my top two favorite vegan cooking channels but I think you're my #1 because I always ate junk food and now it's just a little healthier being vegan haha. Thanks for being your true goofy self Candice! 😘
You should boil water first then putting pasta in the bowl if you let pasta stay in cold water it will be sticky afterwards. You could also add a tablespoon of olive oil in the boiling water to keep pasta slippery
i made the vegan carbonara, and hands down, best vegan pasta i've ever made! it's so creamy and delicious! most importantly, it's cruelty free! thank you ! 🎉
I don't want to be a buzzkill but the german sentence is wrong :S "Vergiss nicht deine Heimat" or more even better " Vergiss deine Heimat nicht" would be correct.
I'm not vegan but I've always been the type of person to try different foods and I really want to try all of those recipes. I love pasta so that's a + for me. Normally when I try something new and I really like it and it stays apart of my eating life like peanut butter stuck to bread. Lol But I'm seriously considering looking into it not only your recipe but vegan food in general because the understanding of the word vegan especially around my friends is looked upon as negative. I just think people just need a little bit understanding about it and my grandma is a vegan so that's a plus. I think for like 20 years now she's 75.
FINALLY some vegan pasta dishes that have a decent nutritional balance! I'm so used to seeing basically just pasta with some veggies, not even any sauce, but these sound delicious!
Hey edgy veg, I'm going to promote the Michelle Obama, Let's Move, campaign! I wish that you can see this comment and you can help come up with some recipes, that are healthy of course! We want to think of fun, yummy food but, we need help making recipes vegan, and coming up with vegan recipes! I can't afford the cookbook, according to my parents, but, I'll try to make the best of it! Please help, thanks!
Why the need to make it fit into a conventional, non-vegan recipe? Carbonara is basically wisked eggs, pancetta/bacon and cheese. If it's not gonna have none of those why call it carbonara? It is a creamy mushroom pasta with onion, it has nothing to do with carbonara at all not in texture, look and possibly in flavour. Just give it a different name.

I don't know, I think that giving it the same name creates the expectation that it's gonna taste the same while it doesn't, so it makes people feel disappointed with the recipe, although it could be a really good one. If you say well here's a vegan pasta recipe that you could try people may like it or not but if they want it to taste like carbonara they would probably think it's bullshit. Is just about how you sell it. For example I enjoy veggie burgers made from lentils or chickpeas way more than regular ones, but if I would expect them to taste like meat I would have felt disappointed. I tried them with the idea that it was something new and i liked them.

That's literally the same reason I went vegan & I have been going strong for 2 years now!

I agree, washing dishes are the worst part of cooking.
Nickey Lee the exact reason I have a husband 🤣
She's a blonde Jesse from New Girl lol
Artliker1234 Ha! That's kind of funny cause it's sort of true. I see the similarities!
She reminded me of someone and I couldn't place it, but this is totally it.
Artliker1234 so true 😂

Thank you so much Edgy Veg, it hasn't been a struggle to go vegetarian since I found your site. I am edging my way toward being vegan every week!
The last pasta was my favourite! IT WAS SO GOOD! And had very little dishes to clean up!
i made one pot food just earlier, it was lush!
it isn't pasta. its Gnocchi.
Did you cook the gnocchi separately first?
I made the gnocchi dish and OMG IT WAS SO GOOD!! Definitely one of the best dishes I've ever made! Can't wait to get my hands on your cookbook 😀
My mouth literally dropped open at the end of the sundried tomato alfredo recipe. Is pasta porn a thing?
Allison Deppe Totally!
Allison Deppe internet rule, everything can be porn.
I literally just made the carbonara pasta and omg!!! it's delicious! I made some changes because I didn't have all the ingredients but nonetheless it was amazing!
-Instead of the mushrooms I used one slice of smoked tofu turkey
-instead of the tofu for the sauce I used chickpeas
-instead of the soy milk used almond milk
-instead of the cashews I used almonds

Can you please make crock pot recipes as well :)
I love your sense of humor, as much as I like your recipes. Never cease to put a smile on my face! :)
The first 2 look way too dry - some pasta water and a bit more olive oil to finish then would make them lovely and silky
