@@happyclappyslappy YES! the s/t is a way overlooked part of this movie. i really think the only reason GB2 gets such flack is because it's the follow up to one of the best films of all time. no, i don't think it's as good as the original(it definitely went with a more family friendly tone) but at the same time i find GB2 just as memorable as the first. Now i think everyone is entitled to their own opinion but someone was telling me the other day that they thought GB'16 was a far superior flick to GB2. to which i couldn't disagree more. so in rebuttal i said - "consider all the great scenes in GB2: the birthday party, venkman's tv show, when they pretend to be construction workers, the courtroom/scolari bros, any scene with bill murray & the baby together, any scene with janosz, the statue of liberty, the subway, when winston saves the day with the fire extinguisher, "let's see what happens when we take away the puppy", cheech - "better late then never", the louis/janine romance, the dancing toaster, when louis puts on the jumpsuit, & on & on... so what great scenes were there in GB'16?" and of course the only thing they could come up with was the hemsworth job interview(which i will admit, i thought was funny) & the mannequin chasing leslie jones(which i will say was the only scene i thought was kinda creepy in the GB'16). GB2 had the heads on the pikes, "Wwwiiiiiinnnnsssttonnnnnnn", the slime in the sink/bathtub, the mink coat, the flying nanny, the flashlight eyeballs, when the pictures catch on fire, when the cradle runs into the street, etc. I really just feel like GB2 is so underappreciated.

After seeing Afterlife, and also knowing that Ramis was a father in real life, Egon would've jumped at a chance at being a good dad to Callie after seeing how good he is with Oscar. Probably seeing little Oscar tore at him with how he wasn't there for his daughter. So many questions about Egon's personal life.
Yes, but Phoebe's behavior to her mom says it all. Her mannerisms is exactly Egon's in both films. I just pay attention to the behavior. But I think the lab scene is his life with the couple and the lil girl with the puppy scene. The toys in the background is the opposite of his childhood but I think those toys were for Callie but the mother probably put a "Wedge" between Egon and his daughter. Callies behavior in Afterlife is not her dad but her Mom. Her and Ray kinda had Resentment in total but in theory is to see him in Phoebe and her brother because they're are both Egon and their mother mother. I see the behavior of her brother and it maybe how Egon's wife or ex-wife was. The boy is persuantbto the girl but cowers a bit under pressure and embarrassment and hides a bit in front of the girl friends. So I say maybe Callie mom was unlike Janine who's not embarrassed by Egon even in crowds. You see how Callie mom talks to her not to be herself when going out. That sounds like her mother talking to her. But when Phoebe is being said. She rolls her eyes.
I never noticed how PO'd Egon is at Peter in this scene. He is totally done with Peter's crap, lol.

The clear liquid remark was my favorite of these scenes. Murray was definitely an expert in that role.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE WAY PETER TALKS TO OSCAR! IT’S TOO CUTE!!!
Also for someone who hated working with Oscar, Bill Murray does work with what he's given. He could have easily been a jerk to that kid in the movie, but instead he's jokey, gets along with him and even looks genuinely protective of Oscar.
He hated the baby?!
@@hothotheat3000 there's a difference between hating someone and hating working with him. Bill doesn't hate babies, but he hates working with them, because it's difficult for a comedian to work with someone or something you can't bounce jokes off of. Best a baby can do on camera is sit, stare, maybe even giggle or cry. Anything complicated would require special effects or a kid/little person body double.
It's a baby...you can't HATE a baby
I still insist they should have written the movie with Dana and Peter still being an item and Peter being Oscar's bio-dad and struggling with that new role/responsibility. Being a new parent is challenging as eff, they could have harnessed Murray's struggling to act opposite an infant and channelled that into Venkman's struggling to find his footing as a new dad.
@@gozerthegozarian9500 I don't know about you but I disagree and think Venkman's arc in GB2 is equally strong. His line "I should have been your dad" oozes with regret. It's made clear he and Dana dated but his immaturity led her to believe he couldn't be a responsible partner, and seeing her child with another man is the final proof of what his shortcomings have cost him. The rest of film is now about Venkman coming to love Baby Oscar as his own and proving to Dana he can step up as a responsible father-figure. I think it's a pretty strong story and message of growing into a parental role for non-biological children considering it came out in the late 80s and there weren't a lot of positive portrayals of step-family relationships.
Ray: you ever done this before?
Egon: on a chimp

LMAO “Hello Dana”
My favourite movie of all time is Ghostbusters 2!!! A childhood Classic & a MASTERPIECE
I think Oscar's dad is the musician from the first Ghostbusters.
"Did his father stink?" 😭😭
"Daddy was a smelly? Huh?"
This has probably already been theorized before. Anyone here think that Venkman was being a clown with the cello just to distract Dana? Before that, he was taking off his coat, looking around the room and sees Dana hovering over Oscar with Egon and Ray, asking questions. Venkman sees this and probably thinks, “I know she cares, but these guys need to work. So I need to distract her so they can work.” And does his Venkman thing.
Bill Murray is being silly to Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis since babysitting 🤣
And after that thorough examination, the supernatural possibities definitely went towards the painting. Stay safe everyone!

He may have a father. But that ain't his daddy.

Now that I’m an adult in healthcare, it’s funny when Egon says they’ll finish with an APGAR score; 😂 that’s used immediately at birth at 1 minute and 5 minutes of life, respectively, and not on a healthy infant clearly at minimum 7 months of age because Oscar can keep himself sitting upright.

My son is just over 8 months old just before New Year's, too. Crazy...
He can't quite sit up on his own, yet, though. But getting there!
"You ever done this before?"
"On a chimp."
The Japanese dub of the movie, the dialogue during the Slinky part is different...
"You never even had building blocks?"
"We had some building blocks, but I put them in the fireplace."
I wonder why they did that.
.... It's not as funny as "part of a slinky".
@@tommyzDad I guess it’s because the slinky was a predominately American toy.
Whoa, WHAT!? That sounds worse then what my siblings do with their toys 🤣🤣🤣
Guess the Slinky was not big in Japan
I’m surprised that everyone in this scene keeps a straight face, with Billy Murray
This part is so cute 3:35-3:45
Egon and Ray: Uh oh!!
Oscar looked like he was enjoying that to be honest
@@AnilSubhraiRay: you mean you never even had a slinkie?
@@thisisanimatorclub6839 “we had part of a slinky, but I straightened it”
We know now that Egon was secretly watching Callie her entire childhood
This was the second film I ever saw in a movie theater. Damn time flies.
What was your first?
@@elwoodjacobs4353 Bill N Ted's Excellent Adventure.
@@keltrepes2534 Nice.
@@keltrepes2534 and What was your Last movie ?😕🤔
And yes, Time flies 😕
Hello Peter.
Hello Dana.
Lmao
Egon says "No I don't think so" compared to "No absolutely not" XD
Daddy was a smelly 🤣🤣
“Nothing that’s going to hurt him right”
“No no I don’t think so he’ll be fine”
*whips out gun*
" Named after a hotdog you poor man"
4:31 oh yeah! This guy voiced movie Garfield!
4:21
Listen to Oscar, He's so happy!
it just makes me smile!
1:11 gotta love the look on Peter's face as he plays the cello as if it was a bass
F the haters, this was every bit as good as the first
Its better than the first one i think
You want to play with a big kid? ahahahah 😂
Named after a hot dog you poor man you poor poor man
3:50 Is it just me, or does someone crack up offscreen when he says half a slinky?
you can tell egon had a weird and disturbed childhood
"Peter, get a stool sample would you."-Egon
Peter- "Is this for business or pleasure?"
"Hm very cheerful, my parents didn’t believe in toys 🧸"
You mean, you never even had a slinky?
Dan Akroyd’s face at 2.00 when they’re ticking the baby…..❤❤❤
I’m pretty sure Bill did the same thing with his kids when they were this young
He actually did antics like this with Harold Ramis’s daughter Violet when she was a baby because he’s her godfather.
@@leahryan5560 They may have had some rough patches but they were still friends
3:57 A reference to Alien? 😂
*Ghostbusters:* playing with babies
*Also ghostbusters:* chased my ghost train and severed heads
Dana: His name is Oscar.
Peter: Named after a hotdog, you poor man.
HAHA!
What a cute baby boy!
The way the door hit Peter 😂😂😂😂
Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd GENIUS WRITERS. BILL MURRAY as Peter Venkman was a MASTERSTROKE. HILARIOUS.
Oh my goodness Peter’s so cute with the baby! 😍😍😍
Fact: One of the twins who played oscar sadly passed away a while back
3:42 Help! He’s gone completely berserk! Help!
2:04 who’s the mustached guy in the picture on the wall? Lol
Johannes Brahms
I guess her father
Ivo Shandor
..... Hello Dana.
Oh, how I miss those old Ghostbusters. They unlike the remake. The remake is trying too hard to be funny unlike the original where its both exciting and throws a little humour in the movies.
I hope someday I can strum a cello as well as Venkman.
0:29 that sounds quite familiar
