- If you used Google Classroom last year, you probably noticed a LOT of student work showing up in your Google Drive account. This can be a bit annoying as it clutters up Google Drive.
In this video I will explain how Drive and Classroom work together and how you can stay organized throughout the school year.

Thank you! I could not understand why assignments were showing up in my GDrive but not in GCR submitted assignments. This makes so much sense now that you have explained the “ownership” relationship!!!!!

Is there a way you can click on a student under the ‘People’ tab but then save all that students work in one foul swoop to a drive folder that you can then share with them….like a digital portfolio for them?

Not like you described, however students have access to all of their work. There's no need to share it with them.
Anything assigned through Google Classroom is available to them via Google Drive.
Hi, does someone know how to change the editor/ownership of a folder in google drive after sending the link to Google Classroom? I want to add some files in my created folder, but then I cannot after turning in the link in our google classroom. Can someone pls help me or enlighten me? hehe
Can we delete the files from Google drive after returning back to the students? If we delete, will the classroom work properly? Will it create any problem?
It will not create problems however it will remove the historical record of the feedback that you gave to students.
In general I do not recommend deleting class work.
If you create the archive folder, by name, and move the archived year classes. Can you still reuse the post? Will google find the folder since you moved it?
Yes! Google does not care about the location of the files or folder. Each file has unique ID that allows Google to identify it.

Hi John! I have recently created a Google Classroom for distance learning. I am wondering if my Google Classroom files will be safe. I placed the Google Classroom folder within a "Distance Learning" folder and I may have changed the folder name to "GOOGLE CLASSROOM" rather than "Classroom." It appears that things are still going to that folder.
I also have a question about organization. I am seeing the Google Classroom slides when I go to the slides in my drive and I wanted to delete them. I tested this by deleting a slide of a dummy account I created and then checking to see if it was still in the Google Classroom folder and it was. Do you think it would be safe to delete them? I would like to create a folder for the slides and toss them all in there, but it is not possible to do under slides.

Yes, Google classroom will continue to organize your assignments into the folder even if you rename or move that folder.
if you delete a file from Google Drive that file will be deleted from Google Classroom. The preview will still be there but when you click to open the file it will not be available.

I have a google Classroom and I don't want students to have access to classroom drive folder.....can we restrict access of the class drive folder only for teachers
I could be wrong but I think what the student sees (has access to) in the drive folder for a class is not the same as what the teacher sees/has access to. If you are enrolled in a Google Classroom class as a student, the only files that are in your Classroom folder for the class are files you submitted or the ones that were copied for you.
Can google drive team can be shared on google classsroom?
Only if the students are members of the team drive

Does the teacher can detect if you copied the folder's link in your google drive, the one that is in your google classroom?
