@@THEDAMNED02 Great point. Axe doesn't have built in stance switching benefits, sure, but being able to stance switch -> ki pulse -> any defensive option or say changing your stance for a buffered dash attack can go a long way towards managing mobs and positioning

Coming from Elden Ring and Sekiro [which I love], I've always wished the movesets for various weapons was a bit more customizable than it is in FromSoft games. Having three distinct movesets per weapon type looks awesome. Guess I'm gonna have to pick this one up.
@@justyouraveragehumanbeing7411 I think each of the games have their own strong points. This is a very helpful guide. I would notice that I would accidentally do perfect ki pulses when I was switching stances, but I couldn't nail it every time. I'm glad that I found this video so I can try and nail it every time.
I've never in 35 years of life found such a needed mechanic that is necessary for beating the game, that is so insanely difficult to pull off reliably. People keep saying this game is well made....
Dude just want you to know your freaking awesome. Your vids deserve millions of views as does the Nioh series itself. I mean look at the spinoff of soulslikes...such as The Surge. None of them hold a candle to Nioh except maybe Salt and Sanctuary/Sacrifice which isn't nearly as deep but still worth mentioning. This is probably the deepest systems in a game I've ever seen. Just got me a PS in order to play this. Your vids are great man. Do you play Salt and Sacrifice by chance? And one other question if you don't mind...can't help but ask, Nioh, or Bloodborne? Sorry I had to do this to you 😆
for all new players, these are the points I wish I knew when starting the game: 1) avoid the bosses in the first mission until you know the next points; 2) running is activated when you press and hold the dodge button, it makes combat more fluid and easy for you, lets you bait enemy animations, etc, etc, watch what this guy does in his videos (it consumes a bit of ki per second) (if you go to tutorial you won't get this info and inside control or keyboard settings it doesn't have a configuration that says you can run, it's like.....humm.....it doesn't exist......its....humm.....hidden); 3) fight normal mobs to get exp to gain levels for your weapon and SAMURAI; samurai is important to level up since you need the "running water skills". it's a must-have. actually, you will need every skill that gets you free ki or ki pulse for most movements you do. and get skills that activate good fighting animations, usually they hurt more than basic attacks and give you better combos.
Great vid. Thank you. Trying to learn and remember different mechanics from different game's, Nioh 1/2, HZD, W3, AC:O, Koa:R-R, Greedfall, Botw, For Honor, GoT, GoW, Hellblade, IFR, KC:D, Outward and Bloodborne is taxing on my old brain. Your video was very helpful. Thank you.
Thanx another great lesson for me as starter in nioh2. Yesterday beat cursed blossom and the first side mission. How can i get point for the Ninja skilltree?
There are ninja's locks inside some missions as guaranteed loot. There's also ninja's locks as some mission rewards. Everytime you use 1 you get 1 ninja point. But if thats too much trouble for you, just start throwing bombs on mobs for absolutely no reason at all. Any bomb and any mob will do. Once you do that the dumb game will think you're gitting gud as a ninja and give you points.
Any guide on what are the most usefull skills out of weapon trees and onmyo/ninjutsu/samurai/shiftling? Also the soul core mechanic is somehow really confusing to me, but everything else seems to be like in nioh 1 that's good.
I got my Ki at 33 should I keep pumping it? It feels like I never have enough and although I read online like yeah keep going it gets better returns, it seems like an absolute waste atm for many other things I could be doing
as addition...there is a lot for new players to focus and practice. It gets overwhelming. So put priority on what to practice. Master the Ki pulse first or you might as well not play this game. It is that important to take down enemies and keep the combat flowing Switching stances is great and becomes more important the further into the game you get. Except for Yoshitsune in the DLC I imagine most players being able to get through new game without switching stances even once. Then have more time practicing and mastering it during NG+ since that is a "Throw away" difficulty where you can do whatever. Perfect place to try and practice new stuff once again. in NG++ and beyond "stance dancing" becomes more and more important. Enemies are sturdier and last longer. So you need to be more aware of when to attack in high stance for big damage and when to back off in low to manage Ki and evasion.
just for curiosity, are you playing on pc? if yes how i get the playstation prompts instead of xbox's? or maybe you are on playstation but recording on pc through an elgato or similar
Good idea. I didn't want to make a video devoted strictly to UI though. I intended to discuss relevant UI as I dig into new concepts. So, the purple bar and Anima stuff would be brought up the first time the player gets a soul core. At some point, I'd make a quick review.

The official name of the button is cross. Cross, Square, Triangle, Circle. Why would 3 be shapes and 1 be a letter? Many people call it cross for that reason. It also helps differentiate because both Xbox and Switch have X buttons.
@Himi Because it looks more like an 'X,' than a cross. At least to my brain. And I've literally never heard or seen it called/referred to as cross. I have, however, heard people refer to "Circle," as "O," which is a letter...so.....?
@@ethandaley69 It looks exactly like a cross. A cross is any two lines that intersect each other and then continue through that intersection.
