Sometimes it's really hard. I had a game where the enemies in my lane were Zacian and Trevenant, and the other lane had Slowbro. Was effectively impossible to stack.
@@DelphinusVyse That's tough, hopefully you get better matchups sometime soon. I just won a match against a lane Trevenant, Zacian, and Clefable. I was running Jungle Talonflame with Attack Weight, Scope Lens, and Muscle Band and had Goal - Getter as my Battle Item. I personally suggest scoring only after you had confirmed there are no enemy Pokemon nearby or all Pokemon who was or is nearby have all been slain. That aside, divebombing enemies with Brave Bird Aerial Ace goes hard asf, it's actually just free real estate. You could easily get free kills on squishies or -25% bars with a good ol' 2 - 1 attack - 1 combo.
So glad you made this video. I have become Anti-Stacking over time because so many of my teammates have done it incorrectly (abandoning the fight to stack, dying on enemy base, trying to get their first stacks midway through the game) and I'm glad more info is being shared to the community! Good luck stackers!
One thing to note is that 8 points seems to be the sweet spot for scoring in between a single opponents attacks. You can just mash x and you're basically guaranteed to score unless it's a decidueye or something
I’m pretty sure that a fully boosted basic from rowlet can stop anything over 6. Also 6 is the breakpoint where a Sableye can’t take all your points off of you in early game cuz you’ll be left with 1
I think it’s also very important to know how to play with a stacking lane partner. Too many times my lane partner will play forward and get themselves KOed while I’m stacking and all you need to do as the lane partner is play back, secure your farm as best you can, and look to help your partner if they’re trying to get out.
@@reuniclus9 I want to add to this, your jungle really needs to be aware of who is stacking and NOT take those opportunities away. A good jungler will come in, get the gank, secure the goal and let the stackers score all the points 1 at a time. Too often I see the jungler scoop up, get a second score for their own exp and then bounce. Their 1/4th of a level does not do the team any good compared to the 3-5 stacks your laner can grab.
This was super helpful. I usually hover between high vet and low ultra and people down here guard their tier 1 goal with their lives most of the time to start the match and push way to far when it’s broken so it was nice to see some delayed stacking strategies and tips to avoid pushing too hard. I feel like stacking is sometimes game-defining and other times it’s like Dumbo’s feather, it gives you the illusion of making you stronger when it barely does. Thanks for the guide, I better change a bit my Gardevoir and Espeon builds and invest more in cooldown and Slick Spoon. Love your content man ❤

Great vid! I do stacking on my tyranitar with attack weight and am full aware that I am not able to stack early on but be able to flip the game to my team's favor near the end. I am able to fully stack around 5:00-4:00 and win a team fight at Ray or able to defend in case the opponent team gets it (thanks to its true damage). I have won battles with it and I am happy with my build.
Lucario feels like he is born to stack : mobility to escape or score, decent bursts damage for secure, cc to knock enemies back, and it's passive (a shield and movement speed when under 50% HP) to escape.
Great overall coverage, I would hoped to have seen more discussion on the actual decision point of when to go for it and when to back off. covering the situations of no defenders 1 defender weak vs strong, 2 defenders, and what your lane partner is doing.
so many people who are stacking run straight towards goal, get one stack and get ko'd. that happens, no big deal. however, they will come back and do it again. like they intentionally trade ko's for stacks. lane partner is 1v2 or 1v3 for bees and behind in level. that is not a good play. thank you for this guide ❤
Ive been playing a lot with double stack goodra, running Spoon, Cookie and Specs with a green/white emblem page. Been loving it, the sustain is insane. Used to have a focus band over cookie but i end up finding ways to heal often enough, id rather max out the HP pool and handle it on my own. Also helps Goomy to get to Goodra easier with such a stat boost.
This is quite helpful to be honest, I'm a returning player and was already wondering how the stacking items worked. Thanks for video Spragels! I hope many more people will come across this video, those small knowledgeable things can turn a whole match around

Flail still a beast with full cookie. If they toned down the HP scaling on the ability I'd be worried. But they've never touched it and just keep adding ways to get more HP. Thinking boost emblems here. Can easily 3 tap any attacker in the game. X Speed is all you need on this mon to be an absolute terror. 22:35 i do have to disagree with stacking with Zeraora. zera with spark wild is excellent with attack weight, it makes up for its super weak late game levels. Hello, Jake, I watched this video last year and it helped me a lot, I even have a written version of this guide, and I was wondering what are your thoughts on the new pokemon that came since you uploaded this vid? for instance, I don't see lapras, umbreon, and the ones that came later, are you planing on doing like an updated stacking pokemon tier list or something? I think it would be great, I loved this guide btw, I happen to watch it every now and then bc sometimes it's hard for me to do it during a match. I found assault vest with amp and buddy really helps you poke and run. When you do get pick out by a sp ark you have the initial barrier from assault to help on top of 51 spdef
I have also done the 2 headbands and weakness policy is balanced. Weakness policy and the red headband synergies and the heal you get from bullet punch is great
Hey Spragels, love the video! I play Decidueye a lot but I don't use the objectively better build of Spirit Shackle and Shadow Sneak. I tend to run Attack Weight, Scope Lens and Muscle Band and the reason I like the Attack Weight is because it directly affects how much damage you deal with crits from the scope lens! Since Razor Leaf shoots out an insane number of basics to multiple enemies in range, it gets so fun :D
This was super nice! I stack all the time, feel like I’m aight at it but a reminder that it’s not always worth the risk is great to hear. This was great! Could you also make a bit of a guide on how to play around stacking if you aren’t stacking? What should you do if your lane partner is stacking? Do you have any tips for defending against stacking?
@@spragels Yeah there are times when I'm stuck jungling and I hate it because it just takes to long to clear the first go around. Just something ya have to deal with sometimes.
I never really stacked anyway, as I main support. I find my gameplay is more intentional, and role-focused. I main Wiggly, with 7 pink, 2 white, 2 blue, 2 purple, 2 green, and Buddy, Focus, and Exp Share. My usual average is 3-5 kos, and 10 plus assists.
I stack with espeon ONLY if I do stored power, cause it really needs more damage. Otherwise I don't stack with Espeon. I agree that psy shock doesn't need stacks, it already does a tone of damage, and it's also used for it's stun. But since store power doesn't stune, doesn't do much on it's own, it really needs more power.
Thank you for this! Been having a hard time to find out how optimal the stacking items are and this vid explains it greatly. Also what do you think are the items that are good with both forms of Urshifu as I am learning how to play them.
I disagree with push to score vs. Hold to score on mobile. On mobile, if you hold it down, and are disrupted, it will retry immediately. With push, it doesn't always read my tap, and I don't get to score what I otherwise could.
I'm top 69 Sylveon player and stacks on Hyper Voice/Calm mind are my whole life. I completaly destroyed CrisHeroes's early game when he was running Zoroark and I also got win. (2 weeks ago)
If I had to guess, it’s probably because garchomps early game so bad it’s not even worth the risk of stacking, that and it really likes muscle band, rapid scarf and razor claw so it probably doesn’t wanna give up any of its item slots
@@CloudyRiptide Yeah, thats my thinking behind it. You can somewhat negate the shitty early game with some stacking. I go for jungle, so if you can score, you already got your dragon rush. I run muscle band, focus band and scope things at the moment.
Am i the only one that wants to see a defensive stack item? Something that could raise both Def and S. Def, especially with this current meta that’s littered with special attackers not to mention Zacian decimating everything. Maybe even a rework of rocky helmet that can increase the effect with each stack.

Great content!!!!! More of these please.
amazing video! thanks for sharing
I use Attack Weight, Cookie and razor claw and believe me it's so good
Thanks for this, I had no idea what stacking was.
That's a lot of birthday partys Jake's got to stack.
Perfect timing, I just got trevenant and I am having immense skill issue double stacking
THANK YOU
Dev should add this into the game. Info about pokemon more. It would be useful for players.
You're my go to guide for Pokemon Unite
I never stacked before. Perhaps I should give it a try
That rocky helmet eldegoss must know something we don’t …
My girlfriend used to say stacking was absolutely necessary with Espeon. Then the spoon came out. Now she can happily farm the safe mons.
Thank you for this! Been having a hard time to find out how optimal the stacking items are and this vid explains it greatly. Also what do you think are the items that are good with both forms of Urshifu as I am learning how to play them.
I personally LOVE stacking with espeon. But she’s also extremely powerful rn..
I double stack flail snorlax. I know it's crazy, but it's fun.
I completaly destroyed CrisHeroes's early game when he was running Zoroark and I also got win.
nice. Also do you think spoon is great on her? Since hyper voice doesn’t drop 80% spdef immediately and is spammable
@@lsnorlax9653 Its still bad choice, you should better use spoon with mystical fire
@@madvest19828 So is specs better still on hv?
@@lsnorlax9653 yeah i'm running choice specs/Sp.atk specs/ wise glasses
Can I ask, why Garchomp isnt viable with the attack weight?
The attack scales good (in my opinion) and it boost its already good autoattack.
I run muscle band, focus band and scope things at the moment.
the other items are just better. Muscle, rapid, scope, focus, etc
Am i the only one that wants to see a defensive stack item? Something that could raise both Def and S. Def, especially with this current meta that’s littered with special attackers not to mention Zacian decimating everything. Maybe even a rework of rocky helmet that can increase the effect with each stack.
Playing sableye with Aeros cookie and weight, using thief on the enemies goal spot, i can it 6 stacks in 7ish minutes
In the gym working out and see the guide appreciate your hard work Jake #YEEEEEEEHAW
