Did the police ever do DNA on the maintenance guy? I don't remember them saying that the did. Especially after he killed himself it should have been easy to get a sample DNA.
I figured it was the roommate. However, the MOMENT my child told me she was afraid of their roommate, she wouldn't have been living there for another day! Poor parents! They are hurting. 💔
Exactly! I am a mother of 3 and watching this angered me so bad. Those parents knew how dangerous that room mate was and even know it had gotten physical, and they didn’t think to do anything with that? I would have been at my kids’ apartment, helping them pack and move and find somewhere else for them to live if they didn’t want to temporarily come back home. No sense in any of this. And poor Tyler. He cared so much about her and her parents publicly destroyed him.
Oh so you mean they're doing their job?? Haha but seriously, as unfortunate and sad as it is thats how the vast majority of cops are. Anita Knutson was a Minot State University student when she was found dead June 4, 2007, face down in her bed at her and Rice's northwest Minot apartment. She died from two stab wounds, likely one or two days before she was found, according to a criminal complaint filed against Rice.
The roommate definitely is involved in this. Either she did it or she knows damn well who did. I live in ND and we don't have rampant crime. She knew her killer.
I dont like her sister. I think she is the murderer!!! She was sick of Anita because she was the center of attention . And during the interview she is acting all the time. I dont see any tears any real emotions!! Look at her body language. Probably the brother kill himself because he knew all about it and couldn´t handle it anymore. Look for her ADN match!! Please believe me!!!
When Anita told her cold lazy mother that she was in danger and she was afraid of her roommate and all the guys coming in, and they had keys to the place she lived, and she got threats on her phone, her mother did nothing about it. She could have done something about it. Her mom is very cold, and the father did all the responsibilities. Anita had two jobs and why wasn't her mother helping her. She know Anita was in an unsafe environment, and her mother did nothing about it, and Anita went to her. She could have got Anita somewhere else, got her to safety, but she did nothing.
This loss is so sad, I feel a lot for the elderly couple who cared enough to adopt and loses one to murder and another to suicide. There isn't anything they could have done to stop it from happening, it's such a tragedy.
Nope. And I hate how they even TRY to suspect him just because hes not social. Thats such bullshit. Its obvious he had nothing to do with it. With a victim that young, I expect the killer to be female or someone a female hired. Im guessing the roommate prolly hired someone and gave him or her a key.
He seems awkward, and admitted that she was his only friend. If he has any kind of developmental delays, he may have seen their friendship as closer than she (or her family) did, but not necessarily in a creepy/obsessed way. He seems a little naive, maybe, but also to want justice as much as the family.
@Marshall Carwood That's a horrible thing to say. I wouldn't call him gross. I could call you that because only someone gross inside would say something like that.
From watching many CWD Episodes I’ve learned some important things, especially;; If your a teen girl who’s pretty , from a smaller town.. Bad news.. I’f she is well liked, helps others and your smile “lights up a room”, your a murder victim!! Are there any victims that are ugly, never smile, no sense of humor and your frown darkens the room ?? I think those r the safe female teenagers out there !!
I think Tyler is just a sweet, awkward man who deeply cares about his friend still, because she showed him kindness. You can tell the mother doesn't think he is involved by the way she laughed when she said he was awkward.
This is the first time I’ve ever cried watching one of these!! I feel so awful for the family!! My love is sent out to them!! It’s not Tyler-he’s awkward but he’s not a murderer.
Nicole Rice is charged with Class AA felony murder in the June 2007 stabbing death of her then roommate Anita Knutson, 18, which had gone cold for nearly 15 years before her arrest last March.
I love the tact the family uses. Even in speaking about the people they suspect "If I had to list her best friends... I might not necessarily include him..." Souther Canadians :D
If you're a close friend, you're too close. If you're not close enough, what a crappy friend. All in the name of keeping everyone else satisfied. Geez, not all of us weirdos are evil 🙄
I agree. His mannerisms, naivety, the sincere belief that she was his best friend, even though the sister disagreed, all matched up with her parents description of her being the person that was there for the underdog. He seems sincere in his desire for justice, and the description of her. I didn't see it as creepy at all, unlike a guy in another video with similarities. Pretty sure that other guy is guilty, but not Tyler.
So I took the liberty of tallying up who everyone thinks is guilty based on the comments. A few things: There were 294 comments at the time of my tally. I only included definitive statements of guilt in the tally. Some may have been tallied twice if they replied to more than one commenter. I made an effort to avoid this but might have missed one or two. "Roommate and Roommates Friends" is a consolidated category. Please enjoy the rest of your quarantine safely. Of 294 Comments, 41 provided a definitive guilty verdict. The results are as follows: 1. Tyler - 12 2. Maintenance Man - 9 3. Roomate/Roommate's Friend - 9 4. Brother - 5 5. Random Jealous Girl - 2 6. Dad (yeah really) - 1 7. Sister (also, yeah really) - 1 8. Maintenance Man's GF - 1 9. Random Serial Killer - 1 Be safe everyone!
@@Scorch428 I doubt that either is a requirement considering that most people who had a verdict chose Tyler as the murderer. Certainly not every one of them is either really young or a complete idiot?
@@anubrakahn2970 I think the people who said Tyler assumed it was him because he is awkward and different. He probably was the type of kid who was either bullied or ignored in high school and Anita was the one person who was kind to him. Just because the sister said she didn't see Tyler being a close friend doesn't mean Anita wasn't his best friend. They did go to Prom together, stay in touch after high school. Also, being from ND, I know the Minot police department hasn't dealt with many homicides , and Tyler is an easy target because, to be honest, is a little strange, but seems incapable of killing anyone. I think that Minot is still small, so moving into the same apartment complex isn't that strange. I started reading through comments and so far, I haven't read one that said they believe Tyler did it. I think Crime Watch was out to make him look suspicious. I have pretty good intuition, and am good at reading people. I don't think Tyler is the killer.
Her mother broke my heart when she said in order to adopt her she had to promise the court that she'd always keep her safe and that day she didn't. My God, I've never heard anyone say anything that broke me more than hearing that.

Welcome to True Crime UA-cam Comments where there is no law and everyone's an expert. We aren't really concerned about "evidence" or that your DNA doesn't match what was found at the crime scene. It doesn't matter if the police dismissed you as a suspect. What do they know anyway? Nope. Here at True Crime UA-cam Comments we look past that nonsense and look for the weird guy. That's right. If you're a weird, kind of goofy dude we've pretty much determined that you're guilty. Keep reading the comments for more on this.
Of course everyone will comment on evidence. This case is about a lack of evidence, hence no definite suspects. But I agree - I DONT think people should assume someone's a murderer because they are awkward in their eyes. That means zero...especially in terms of evidence. Jumping to that conclusion is subjective and presumptuous.
@@lsnprice that's all I'm saying. There's a guy who is a total weirdo and does weirdo things so he is presumed guilty by many in the comments. This despite he is openly assisting in the investigation, is not declining interviews, none of the evidence points to him, the police have ruled him out as a suspect and he appears to have his wife's support through all of this. Fortunately for all of us, being different isn't a criminal offense...unless you're in the UA-cam comment section, I guess. I agree that brainstorming is certainly the fun part. Jumping to conclusions based on someone just being weird is not brainstorming.

I feel for the parents. Nothing worse than the unknown.. I pray they find peace!
I think the maintenance guy. He had keys, he found the screen, he kills himself a year later....
I agree. First thing he points out, "Hey, there's a sliced screen right here."
I think it was him as well
@Liam Fullarton-Ward guilt can eat you alive over time. But I do agree with you on the rest
Only thing about the scenario is, if he killed himself out of guilt..why wouldn’t he leave a confession note or something like that?

I love how the police just discount the man that killed himself by saying well we knew him pretty well. Well the police were pretty good friends with John Wayne gacy at one point too. And he was friends with people in high places. Thinking you know someone pretty well does not discount them having murdered somebody
yea i had to do a paper on him once and his story is interesting given how things were at that time. he was loved by many people!
I'm always suspicious of a potential suspect who commits suicide shortly afterwards. It may be unrelated, but it just seems odd that he'd kill himself in that time frame.

When Anita told her cold lazy mother that she was in danger and she was afraid of her roommate and all the guys coming in, and they had keys to the place she lived, and she got threats on her phone, her mother did nothing about it. I don’t think it was Tyler.
Nope. And I hate how they even TRY to suspect him just because hes not social. Thats such bullshit. Its obvious he had nothing to do with it.

Im guessing the roommate prolly hired someone and gave him or her a key.
I think it was the brother, he started doing drugs probably cause guilt was eating him up and then dies
He seems awkward, and admitted that she was his only friend. If he has any kind of developmental delays, he may have seen their friendship as closer than she (or her family) did, but not necessarily in a creepy/obsessed way. I made an effort to avoid this but might have missed one or two. "Roommate and Roommates Friends" is a consolidated category. Please enjoy the rest of your quarantine safely.
Of 294 Comments, 41 provided a definitive guilty verdict. The results are as follows:

2. Maintenance Man - 9
3. Roomate/Roommate's Friend - 9
4. Brother - 5
5. Random Jealous Girl - 2
6. Dad (yeah really) - 1

You're the most expert among all other experts here, respect you for your expertise 🤔hahaha.
Anubra Kahn I agree with you. These comments are tiresome
A lot of people are brainstorming. You have to look at all possible leads
