Just a note on Swiftcast, you don't have to beat Gilgamesh Island to get, recently started playing again and was able to get Swiftcast after beating one of the tempering challenges (the Titan/Bahamut one).
For anybody reading this before they beat the game, in chapter 13, after you beat gilgamesh, you have to opportunity to do this in the combat simulator with chadley, you won’t get gil but can still do this method to increase experience and ap, I leveled up from 55 to 70 in about 15 minutes
Best farming spot for me was the Sahagins in Cosmo Canyon, quick, easy to kill (in normal), and lots of AP. Just give Aerith an Ice - Magnify; Ice - Swiftcast, and this HP-MP Materia, and rinse and repeat. Use Chocobo Armband + AP Up materia for quick gains on those blue materias hard to level up.
I commented on your other AP video before seeing this one haha. I'm a little behind the curve, but I'll still ask again. Would restarting the battle before the queen bee let you keep the AP. I know it works for EXP but if it works for AP then it would also cut down on time used to reset the farm I would think
@@Soldier1stClass alright I had a moment to test it while my daughter took her nap. Sadly it doesn't work that way and only gives the AP when you finish the battle. But I did put the difficulty in Dynamic and noticed that the Queen stays alive just as long as Hard if not longer and you don't have the issue of no items and stuff like that!
@@Soldier1stClass I also learned 2 other things that I don't remember seeing in comments or anything. With this AP method, since Cait isn't in the party his materia doesn't gain any AP. But he does gain EXP just at a slightly reduced rate from the rest of the party. Which is interesting why he doesn't gain AP but does get EXP a fun little bit of info haha
I did this, but the Firaga with Magnify also hits the Queen Bee. Is there any way to prevent it? She dies long before I ever kill enough ton get thousands of AP.
I feel like where you are looking effects where the fire spreads to, I could be completely wrong but I as long as the queen bee is off screen she never gets hit by the magnified fire. I usually do the hold square attack so the bees come to cloud, and then when they are on the ground, cast the spell and just look straight down at the worker bees.
Pretty good farming strategy. I also wonder if resetting the chapter to farm the Hades Armlet still works too. It'd be pretty nice to have Hades Armlets for the characters not using the Cetran Armlet and Bracer for Hard Mode.
If you can get the worker bees grouped well enough, you could probably take off magnify so it doesn’t accidentally auto target her. Playing on hard also helps because she can take more damage.
When can you restart the loop? Do you have to finish the side quest or as soon as the queen bee inevitably falls can you just start over from there? First time I did it had to trek back to Nibelheim and play a concert
I found doing dynamic was better and less aoes.. the bottleneck is respawn time if you kill all of them the mob looks like an idiot for longer and doesn't spawn shit in for a bit so your party just wails on the boss but if you keep cloud and just braver spam on Dynamic you can take out two pretty consistently and that'll prompt the boss to start spawning more in.
Just did this method this morning and it was insane thank you. Got a question where do we get 8 slot materia gear? I’ve only managed to find the one in Nibelheim that gets 6. And do weapons get 8 slots?
Say if you're in battle and you want to end the battle. Apparently retry battle doesn't save your ap you earned so have to pretty much kill the queen bee to retain your ap?
I modified this to have two sets of fire magic with Cloud and Aerith, Aerith using synergy to cast. It goes by so fast I don’t know what happened. Also easy mode and just fire alpha
This is a great method. However, the Queen Bee constantly gets caught in the crossfire no matter where i stand or run around. She always hovers quickly to the worker bees. Any suggestions? I can only do this for max 5 minutes and then i need to restart the quest.
My party members usually have her distracted. Could the material that draws aggro from enemies help maybe? I always stand by the truck and wait for them to spawn.
@@Soldier1stClass Thanks, the Provoke materia only helps when other party members are close to 0 HP. Standing by the truck, but the Queen Bee just flies there and gets in the way haha. Anyway, thanks for helping, the method is great anyways, just have to replay the mission.

@@Soldier1stClass If the queen bee’s Health gets too low, is it possible to intentionally die in the fight so you can restart from the beginning of the battle while retaining all XP, Gil and AP?
