Very interesting!!! Tight lines🐛🕷️🐜!!!!
Sweet! Tight line🐛🕷️🐜!!!!
So real,i was waiting for it to hop out of the vice
You are an evil genius Tim. Glad you're on our side.
I think for how simple this pattern is, it has a great profile. The head as well as that sort of triangle shape that extends from the head to the back. Again, thanks for showing us great hopper patterns that won’t take 20 minutes to tie :D
Normally I don’t care too much for flies made up of foam and such but this little hopper looks great. Think I’ll try this one soon..... 🤞
Definitely a great fly for grass carps! Thanks for sharing!
"snip the tentacle free from the hide".. that shit killed me
Damn it! I made up a similar fly and I thought I was the only one who had thought of using mop for a tail on a dry fly.
ZDG lol
Brilliant. Will try soon, thanks! I especially like the clarity to which you explain everything that you do in every video, had to comment due to the video being so simple but impressive. Your channel has helped me tremindisly as i am a new tier. Thanks again.
Thanks for sharing. This is a really well built yet simple hopper. Usually I stay away from them because the patterns are complicated and take too much time. I make a seriously detailed cricket and I think this pattern would adapt well and make a great, much simpler cricket as well. All the best, Sean
okay this 1 is pretty damn good way simpler than the water walker and looks real nice
What a great video! Can’t wait to try tying this one!
Simply a genius. Great fly.
Nice job! Timely too, they're all over my yard
I really like this pattern. Thanks for that tip with the rubber legs! You da best.
Simple yet innovative. Awesome bug!
This is an awesome hopper pattern!
This is brilliant!
I'll have to try this pattern. I recently scored two car polishing mitts of that color for $1 each.
Another great ty, thanks !!
I just made one of these looks so real used eyes I glued on
I caught about a mixture of a dozen bluegill and bass in about half an hour with this fly. Sadly they were all tiny and couldn’t keep but still a killer hopper pattern.
Great. I had a few mop tentacles layin around
jajaja...oyu are a monster about mopa´s Tim. Simply genial, thank's!! good "mopfishing"
Precioso trabajo 👏
Deja vu!😆. I think I’ve seen that trick recently, as well!
I bet this fly would be murder on some river run blue gill!
He said deja vu because his previous video was how to make hopper legs😄
Awesome looking fly! What brand of rubber leg material is that? A lot I've seen have all the strands separated which i guess wouldn't be as good for the back legs?
Call it the mopper
Just so yall know, the knot he used for the leggs is called a sheet bend
Hello there, awesome videos. My son is very interested in making fly tying videos. We are having a hard time capturing the process on video. Do you have any tips to help a beginner with minimal equipment to make fly tying videos? We do not own a macro lens... Is that a necessity?
Wondering where I can buy the legs...I haven't found any that come stuck together like the legs used in this video.
Has anyone got a response about where to find the legs like that? I can only find the individual stranded ones.
Innovative and awesome, just not a fan of flies that require another product to make them fishable. Unless you apply floatant to that mop while dry, that fly is going to sink like a stone. Id much prefer a foam or furry foam body
The wonderful thing about the mop fiber is its ability to both soak up liquid (water or floatant) and also how easily liquid can be squeezed out of it. When the mop part of the fly does get saturated with water, like after catching a fish, all I do is give it a good healthy squeeze to remove nearly all the water then once again saturate it with floatant. It is kinda the whole premise of the fly.
It looks like it will twist badly in casting though, have you had any trouble?
Have not had any twisting problems. But, like most big foamy flies, I can't say that it's a pleasure to cast.
Can I use size 10 hooks?
Please shoeders parachute hopper please
