Best video ever! There are many reasons for flying a flag and they should be flown with pride. Gr8 choice on the flag pole and installation Gord. I have had mine for about 15 years and I is still like new. By the way, did you know that an international survey showed that the Maple Leaf is the most recognizable flag in the world? Thanks for the great cup of coffee and cheers
Good morning and thanks again Don! I couldn't be happier or more proud. I can tell you, I felt so much pride just standing there watching it catch the wind. And glad to have removed the old pole - this new pole is beautiful. I did not know that about our flag - thanks! All the best!
Great video! You did a fabulous job with the installation and explaining our product :) At Ontario Flag and Pole we pride ourselves in quality products and service and it's great to see you enjoying this new pole! We look forward to servicing your followers too :)
Thanks again folks! I love the flag pole and my new vibrant flag. Such a big difference from what I had. Very proud to look out and see it flying proudly against the lake. Be well and all the best! Thanks again!
Great Job showing your patriotism and pride in your country. I wish more people had the same attitude and pride in one’s country. These days that is lacking in so many people THANK YOU!
That telescoping flag pole sure looks better than messing with rope. Next video... "removing the old flag pole with the LX2610 and the stump bucket" :) Great job! - Ed
Well GP, at least the sub-surface/exposed rock shelf benefitted you this time. Look at the money you saved on pre-mix concrete.... Man that tool carrier.....the only thing that was missing was the kitchen sink !! Awesome choice in flag poles. As the former US Marine Sergeant of the Guard for the changing of the guard ceremony for the new Commanding Officer at MCAS Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii (early 70's) that is something I can appreciate. Yeah, that and about 75 cents will get me a senior coffee just about anywhere.....LOL. Seriously, a nice job on a superb pole !!
Morning T! Wow - there's alot more to the man behind the workshop than meets the eye. I'll bet a chat around the fire might turn into an all-nighter - LOL. Thanks good sir. I must say I feel proud looking out at it each morning. Cheers T!
What a nice video, GP! I have not seen a pole with the telescoping feature of the swivel flag attachments. It is perfect, I agree Carol will be impressed! Guy would also be impressed with your expert installation. When you say you are not mechanical, I always grin, because I have friends who are truly not mechanical! They would take a hammer drill and use the body of the drill to pound a nail! Take care! and as always, Cheers.
How's she goin'? GP that flag looks awesome!!! You did a nice job on the mounting plate and being on the shield like you are, it will stay good and straight and that will make all the difference!!! Nice job!!! Take care!!!
.... Looks Awesome G.P. !! .......... Carol will love it , sooooo , what should the lower flag bee ???????? ................. Don't Tread on Me !!! silhouette. ......... ..................... We NEED a G.P. Outdoors Flag !!! THAT'S IT !!!!!!!
LOL! I was thinking the same thing but I am pretty sure Carol will be giving that idea a Thumbs down . LOL. Of course...I could always just sneak it up there .....
Great video Gord . I just love that flag and the country that it represents . Easy to change flags every year and no stupid rope that can break on you . I have been flying a flag for as long as I can remember . I put up a new flag every spring . Take care .
Good morning Henry! Me too. A big of feeling of pride as I stood back and watched it in the wind. That old pole was so bad that I was able to simply pull it out of the cement by hand. Hope you are keeping well. All the best!
I was going to mention in the last video that it looked like you needed to get a new flag pole. The old one had a little curve to it, so does mine so I did not post 😊. Looks great! And thanks for the video.
Great Video, I've been looking for a flag pole for my cabin up here in Northwestern Ontario for a few years. Everything I was finding the review said a light storm damaged the pole. Your remarks about this pole made up my mind, I will be ordering one right away!
Greetings from Wisconsin! Well your research definitely paid off! I'm very impressed with the design of that pole. No rope! And those swivels are ingenious also. God bless patriotism! P.S. we had our 1st snow fall out in our western states the other day. Get that cab ready! Cheers
Good morning IHB! So happy I finally got that looked after. No more making excuses for the old one. Feels great to stand back and watch it fly. LOL - I heard! Maybe we are in for an early winter. :0. Have a great week IHB!
Beautiful flag: and your installation looks great. Thank you for this very helpful video. I really appreciate the details in the instructions. We are planning to install a flag pole. So this video is timely. Thank you and have a great week!
Nice job Gord, ive been wanting a flag pole. Watching this video I felt like the friend who came over to help but sat on his ass enjoying a coffee instead!!😁
Gord, Another job extremely well done! My suggestion though is that you have so many US followers you should also have the Stars and Stripes flying. I used to operate a gas station in Vermont and I had both flags flying and I know that it made a difference. I had so many Canadian customers that would pull in.
Good morning GP. Great Job.. having a rock or two around make it easy to install.. hahaha So glad you got it up. And as you said your wife is going to love it.. 🇨🇦 Have a great day my friend. Stay safe and always be kind. Cheers. 🇨🇦🇺🇸
Nice job GP. It may take me a while to get used to the new location, but beautiful just the same! As a neighbor to your south, and in reference to another comment, I don't feel that you need to fly our flag also. If YOU want to, go ahead, but I can still enjoy your flag by itself. :)
Well Gord, I’m sure glad you got something completed, and you can fly your colors, However I believe it would look better on my property with the U.S , and the Marine Corps flags on it! Good job as always my friend.
I have "Old Glory" flying on my shed. I've been thinking about getting a flag pole and that would fit the bill. The place I have in mind I'll have to mount the base in the ground but your granite mounting installation was perfect! Best Regards, Jay
Hi G.P. great job on the flagpole. Using the rock to mount it on is the way to go. I've been working off and on today before and after church to catch up on watching all my subscription videos and I'm starting to get caught up finally thanks for sharing have a great week
Good video. Thanks. We have one of these poles at our place on Lake Huron on the Bruce. They withstand any of the winds we have (80-100 kph). If we know in advance a big wind is coming we'll take the flag down in advance, but sometimes that's not possible. We accept that we go through about 4 flags a year. We like also to sometimes lower the pole a section to make it less flexible. In a strong wind it's somewhat difficult to lower sections because of the side loading from the wind. We rock the pole into the wind and twist at the right time and it comes down. We've had our pole for about 9 years. Our old pole, a Home Hardware special, buckled in a storm.
Impressive video of skill and planning to put up a fine flagpole. My wife and I just bought the same one and will probably go in ground with concrete but I sure like your surface mount idea. Clever!
Good morning Gord, that new flag pole looks great 👍👍. Mommas going to be pleased 😄! Sure looks good around there, what kind of a winter are they predicting for your area? Thanks for sharing with us.
Good day Fred! I am really happy to finally get a nice pole in here. Ahhh... differing opinions but possible an early winter. So we have lots to get done before the snow flies. Hope you are keeping well. Cheers!
Nicely done! I have had mine installed for about 5 years now, I bought the 20 ft because it scaled better with the house and surrounding trees. We often get high winds with gusts up to 60 mph here in SE Idaho. The only problem I have had is when the wind is over 20 mph the joints in the pole flex just enough to make it difficult to unlock the joints and lower the pole. The flag looks good ! Cheers!
Looks great. You can save the threads on a wedge anchor or rod as you installed by screwing a nut on flush to the end you are hammering on. The nut will move with vibration and expose the threads, and if you do happen to booger up a bit of threads cut above the nut and unscrew the nut fully it will chase the threads cleaning them up to thread on a new nut.
Hi Gord! That’s a really cool flag pole design and you did a great job with the installation! I haven’t seen one like that before. It should last a long, long time. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
Great vid GP, one thing I’ve noticed though.. Ever since you got the new tractor, you’ve always locked the door when you get out.. Who is going to take it? Guy or are you trying to keep Carol out of it since she’s taken over the zero turn lol
before I watch the video, find a BIG rock, drill as many very large (3-4 cms in diameter) and deep lag bolt holes as needed (1/2 meter deep), mount and tighten. was that a good idea?
Are those native Red Maples behind your pole? Nice tree to have beside a Canadian flag pole. I have some here out west but they only turn a burnt copper colour. Still very nice trees though
very nice video, it's good you did not get a longer pole, anything longer and it would not have fit in the shot, or you would have needed to move the camera so far away you would not be noticed.
No that it has been a couple years are you still happy and satisfied with the flag pole? We are looking to get a pole for our property and I had seen the telescoping model but wasn’t sure of the build quality.

Nice DIY video All the shelf means you can almost surface mount the flagpole anywhere in your yard.
You bet NH!
That was awesome. Great choice and looks amazing. Beautiful home as well. Be blessed and stay safe.
Thanks so much BB! Super happy with it and an enormous feeling of pride every time I look out my window. Have a great weekend!

Thanks very much Edward! I'm really happy with it. Looks beautiful now!
Good evening GP 😉 Great flag pole installation and it is very nice 👍😉 Have a great week Sir Cheers !!!

A well thought out project! Great install for areas like ours with granite ledge. Enjoy seeing that maple leaf fly!
Me too, PP! Feels great to see a beautiful pole up and that big Maple Leaf catching some wind. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
You were bang on with the 15’ 👍

Thanks Larry! I couldn't be happier. Just a wonderful feeling every time I look at it. All the best to you and your family!
Again, always great videos, great use of mother nature's anchors / big rocks. Keep up the great work !
Nice job on your flag pole installation, we just put up a 25 foot telescoping flagpole
Thanks Ken. That's great! All the best!
Great DYI project video. Great looking flag pole.
Gord, Another job extremely well done! My suggestion though is that you have so many US followers you should also have the Stars and Stripes flying. I used to operate a gas station in Vermont and I had both flags flying and I know that it made a difference. I had so many Canadian customers that would pull in.
Good morning Hal. I had not thought of that but perhaps something I should think about. Thanks for the good suggestion. Have a wonderful weekend!
That's your flag, be proud of it by itself.
actually it's against Canadian flag protocol to have another flag flying on the same pole as the Canadian Flag..
Good morning GP.
Great Job.. having a rock or two around make it easy to install.. hahaha
So glad you got it up.
And as you said your wife is going to love it.. 🇨🇦
Have a great day my friend.
Stay safe and always be kind.

Morning Gus! Feels great to have it up now. You too - hope you and Sally enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Another advantage of the surface mount is that as your base shifts, the mount can be releveled.
Great point Paul! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Good stuff Jeff! I am very happy with it. Good sturdy build and I think it was the right choice. Good luck with the installation! Cheers!

very nice video, it's good you did not get a longer pole, anything longer and it would not have fit in the shot, or you would have needed to move the camera so far away you would not be noticed.

Which model is the flag pole. Video indicated 15 ft model, but that looks longer than 15 ft?
For reasons i won't mention i wish my flag was Canadian
Remember to take the flag down for winter. The ice and snow destroy flags. You will double the life of your flag
