- On May 14, 2020 we decided it was the perfect day to ride the Virginia Creeper Trail! The Virginia Creeper Trail is one of the most beautiful bike riding trails in the United States and a must do with some of the most amazing views you'll ever see on the east coast.
We started our trail in Whitetop Viriginia and ended 17 miles away in Damascus Virginia.
Starting point: Whitetop Station - Whitetop Gap Road, Whitetop, VA 24292
Ending point: Damascus Town Park - 301 S Beaver Dam Ave, Damascus, VA 24236
The official Creeper Trail map is available online or at the Welcome Center in Abingdon, as well as at many of the retail bike shops and shuttle services in Abingdon and Damascus.

There was a person known as ‘the legend’ who rode this trail from Abington to white top and back every day till he was 85. The trail is smooth and down hill from white top to Taylor’s valley if you want an easy ride that you can coast
I am glad you stopped to see some of the beautiful sites along the trail. I am 71, grew up in Damascus, been back several times to do the trail, and plan to do it again this spring, 2021. This trail is good for all ages because it is down hill, but for the last mile that is a straight stretch.

The creeper trail was actually made from an old Tran track line that was used to transport lumber from the mountains around (I know this because I live in the area and go to school at the local high school in Damascus

Just did Whitetop to Damascus 2 days ago. Didn’t even have to pedal for the first 20 minutes. I will do it again.

I live in TN and I went to the creeper a few times in Boy Scouts and it is pretty fun. Although as I was watching you guys go down the trail I noticed you were petaling a lot. The creeper is mainly down hill assuming you started at white top, you shouldn’t be petaling so much. Anyway, good video.
Great video, seems you all had a great time. I plan to copy your trip, however only have one vehicle. If you park in Damascus, is there a taxi service to take you and your bike gear to Whitetop? Would appreciate any info, thanks again for the great video !!
