Two things: 1. Very *very* funnily so, the Cursed Ending nearly happened irl, specifically right after WW1 where Hungary decided "Well shit, we're not going to be able to take Transylvania back by force, so uhhhh.... hey Ferdinand, you want the Hungarian crown?" and Ferdinand (the romanian king) was actually mildly agreeable to such a situation, but romanian parliament basically told him that they aren't all that into it and since he was sternly focused on making himself seen as a true romanian by the Romanian nation and proving that he IS their king (to the point he joined WW1 in the first place despite being a german and directly related to the Kaiser), so he decided against it. However, in an alternate timeline, we very well could've gotten Hungaro-Romania, HELL, in another timeline we very well could've gotten Bulgaro-Romano-Hungary even. 2. If we're going with Dacia surviving why not go with Burebista's Dacia so it's actually important via it basically being a giant empire in the middle of Europe, stretching from Austria to the Black Sea and from Northern Serbia to Southern Poland.
To be honest, i want to see a merge between theese two countries. I'm sad, because we lost Szeklerland, where the hungarian are still the majority, but im even more sad, because we cant help their situation. Every other neigbhooring country hates us, and decided to delete the dual-nationality, even further they forbid the foreign (hungarian) language too. But in contrast to Szeklerland, they are close to the state border, so they can easily pass the border, for work, friends, study, etc. And the hungarian government can help them. But in Szeklerland, it is not just hard, but very expensive, and time consuming to do. One of my ex come from ukraine (transcarpathia), and they call themselves as "transcarpathians" rather than hungarians, like the szeklers. But we could agree in that, they have much more hungarian bloodline, than romanian, or ukrainian. The slovak, and serb hungarian people (i think) has more mixed bloodline, so we cant call them "pure" hungarians. So theese countries legitimately claim the territories there. The romanian government are not fully exploiting their resources, so they could be in much better economic position if they do. Slovakia just ahead both us, with even less resources than hungary. If the two countries would merge, we would be the most influential country in eastern europe, and that would greatly boost our economy too. And i think, both hungarians, and romanians would be happy, because everyone's situation would be better. Both countries has strengths, and weaknesses. But together, we would be so much stronger. I dont want to hate the romanians, because im hungarian. I live really far away from the romanian border, but the "romanian hating" culture are everywhere in the country. And this is really sad. But it well deserved after the hungarian flag is burned in the romanian parliament in '18(?).

I am romanian and I like it too. Besides the language there isnt really major differences between romanians and bulgarians and the same goes for serbians. Same religion, same balkan culture, same dna pool.
