Hey Jeff. I always look forward to your videos, particularly those about Atlantic City. You pretty much confirmed my thoughts about Bally's. I stayed there once and was appalled by the room. I haven't stayed there again. Thanks for the video.
Hey jeff, good overview of the hotel. I have never played or stayed at Bally's. They are actually in bad shape financially so no renovations will be coming in the near future. The chairman of Bally's is going to use his private equity firm to take Bally's private.
Started staying in Bally’s when we first started going to AC in the 90’s. The rooms look like they haven’t been changed or updated since then. Haven’t been there in years but at least it looks clean
Hi Jeff cudos to a brutally honest review all so rare on Utube. For example many food reviews i feel aren't truthful; many channels seem for example like everything they eat! (seriously😮). Not to mention sponsored channels😮. Thx again for great video!
Nice video Jeff, I really don’t think that room was too bad considering it was comped (plus resort fees). At least you were given the option for a paid upgrade to the Bally’s tower. Did they give you a price for the Bally’s Tower upgrade? If folks want a nice room, go to Ocean and pay $400 on weekends. Ocean has the highest average room rate of any casino on the island. When you think of it, where else on earth could you stay in an oceanfront hotel in the summer for such a cheap rate? In August, I received offers for $29 rooms and recently some comped offers now that it’s September. That dresser could be sanded down and stained, but that fridge needs to be tossed because some disgruntled guest put a hole in the inside door. Bally’s doesn’t have the best balance sheet right now. They are trying to build a new casino in Chicago and demolishing the Tropicana in Vegas.
Gonna sound crazy but I used to pack a small power strip and multi device charger when I travelled to older properties. Im ok with it being outdated as long as its clean. 2 free nights every week is great. The rooftop bar is a great idea. Id do nighttime only since they have the beach bar.
Yes. I've mentioned in the past I always keep a power 'cube' in my suitcase. I bought two of them for cruises. Cruise ship are notorious for lack of outlets in cabins. I have found them useful for land trips as well. (Note: Power strips with surge protection are not allowed on cruise ships. Make sure it says 'cruise safe' or it will be confiscated.) As far as rooftop bar, everything is there already. Spruce it up, bring in a DJ or band, some lighting and allow the public to the area! Thanks Joel!
I am just happy my surname appears on a tower in AC (the D in JWD stands for, you guessed it). You are so right about that empty space on the roof. Lots of potential.
Pros: - Quite cheap for a casino hotel in the center of Atlantic City - Close to the Caesars Sportsbook (where I like to spend my evenings at, especially on football Sundays) - Caesars is next door, so I can go there to gamble or eat if I feel like it - Relatively close to the boardwalk, beach, outlets Cons: - Hotel and rooms are quite outdated - Not the greatest views from the room (especially on lower floors) - Feels more like a Hampton Inn or Fairfield Inn because of its looks - The dreaded room 666 (Why would anyone in their right mind want to stay anywhere near that room, let alone in it?) I honestly am indifferent with the Dennis tower, but I have no problem staying in it for a night or two for the pros I listed. I’ve stayed at worse hotel rooms at comparable prices to the Dennis tower, so I’m fine with it (for now.) Hopefully, they’ll renovate that tower sooner than later. Another great AC video. Looking forward to my next stay in September or October.
After you walk to Bally's using the moving sidewalk, most people know, Bally's is to the left, and the Wild Wild West, (heart be still) is to the right. If you turn right, and head to the Wild Wild West, you eventually are overlooking, well, no other way to say it, standing overtop, looking down upon THE WILD WILD WEST. So many things have changed through the years. I love that Wild Wild West. I know so many do. Life changes. But, you are you.
I like staying at casino hotels, but people are complaining and 'free comped room stay' means you're still paying $35.00 or more in resort and taxes. I love the Super 8 on Tennessee Av., the Howard Johnson's, the Quality Inn, the Best Western. Within one block of a casino; Cheaper price; no resort fees; free breakfast. Clean rooms. You dismiss a pealing drawer in a dresser. Still get a deal walking over to McDonald's and getting a 99cent coffee at breakfast. Free breakfast downstairs! Dollar stores to fill up refrigerator with $5.00 shrimp ring. I like Pringles & Pepsi.
@@NuYawk As we know, casinos will offer you a $59.00 room rate Exclusive!, then when the resort fee, like $30, then taxes, like $6.00, your great rate is over $100, and these hotels offer rates often much lower rates than the casino properties. I like lower room rates; if I have to walk a block over, I'm cool with that and there's a lot to see on the way
I always get comp romes at Caesars properties and Bally's they always want to put me in the dennis Tower last time I stayed there my room the bed was facing the wall the TV wass on the left side of the room you couldn't even lay in bed and watch TV will never stay there again
When booking a comped room at Bally's I always request the Bally's Tower. They don't make any promises but it usually works. Not this time however! LOL! Thanks for watching and subscribing Tim!
Yes. I never really run into towel issues. On longer stays like Las Vegas washcloths seen to be the issue but you just have to ask housekeeping in the hallway when you see them. Thanks for watching and subscribing Rory!
Jeff The Ballys tower is indeed the best with mostly renovated rooms. The Dennis tower would be second and there are a handful of refreshed rooms you definitely didn’t have one…..garden tower is the WORST place EVER First it’s a smoking tower and before I got upgraded to Superstar tier level about a year ago I got stuck there once on a Friday night stay and the room was Horrible Stains on the bedspread cigarette burns on the floor and sofa TV was crooked and refrigerator had 5 inches of frozen ice built up. I checked out got a refund and got a room at Caesars!!!!!!!! Such a bad experience
Are there any other casinos that will 'hit the reset button?,' does anyone know? As a gambler, I like the 'let's hit the reset button' and Bally's is the only one I know who does it. Frankly, as I type it, it may not be even be real.
Good luck going downstairs and complaining about the room... That is a typical Dennis Tower room. I stayed there a couple times recently and this is what I got too (except the fridge wasn't cracked). The Bally tower is recently renovated but if that is sold out, you probably aren't getting a better room. The furniture was scuffed up but fridge and AC worked fine and the bed was comfy so it was fine for what is is
Yes. I've been in the Dennis Tower and Bally's Tower many times as well. The Dennis Tower never changes. Typically I request the Bally's Tower and get it. This time they wanted $ for the upgrade.
The Dennis tower has a amazing history. I really enjoy reading about the ACs old hospitality business. Such a rich history.
AC has a fascinating history that I'd like to cover someday on the channel.

C'mon home for a week or two

The pool had a great hot tub complex. Sad to see it gone
Yes. Gone since COVID. Thanks for watching and subscribing Richard!
I like the Dennis Tower for easy access to the beach and pool. I just wish the pool was open every day and that they had the hot tub working.
It does have a coffee maker that's a big plus many places don't have them anymore.

Ah, yes, the beloved😆😆 Dennis tower. I vividly recall your..."assessments" of it.
You would think there would be some kind of improvement by now. Thanks Dan!

Still better than the West Tower at Tropicana if you are going to be at the beach all day.
I was thinking the Forum Tower at Caesars as well.
@NuYawk forum tower was dirty 2 different rooms both had issued luckly wasn't hot and windows opened so we made thru
👍👍👍👍
Thanks Jason!
The. Rms need a renovation
Yes. They did a good job on the Bally's Tower. Hopefully Dennis Tiwer is next! Thanks for watching justme!
More importantly was the bed comfortable? The Dennis tower rooms are usually quiet and the bathrooms are a nice size
The bed was clean and comfortable. Also everything in the room worked. Thanks for watching and subscribing Kelly!
If you ever get a room on the first floor pay for the upgrade 🤣
Thanks for watching and subscribing vlong5710!
They really need to change less for those Dennis Tower rooms. At least 3 towers at the Tropicana are cheaper.

Maybe I will!

Is there a connection between Bally's Tower and that rooftop / pool area?
Yes. Floor six by the restaurants and showroom.
Plenty of towels I see.

I don’t think they have the funds to upgrade or renovate anything.Word is that Ballys overall is broke.
Thanks for watching Jim!
Ask to have the resort fees removed since you don't use the pool or gym. I've heard of people that have gotten it.

Thanks for the feedback and for watching and subscribing!
To be considered inactive and get the Bally promos, have to not played there for 12 months, not 6

the dennis tower, west tower and chelsea tower at tropicana are probably the worst hotel casino rooms in atlantic city
