The zombies being allergic to wall nut is actually a thing. In EXTREMELY rare moments, while a zombie munches on a wall nut, there is a chance of it’s face puffing up and leading to his death

Well, I think that is because zombies ate his friends, since a zombie apocalypse is present, or if not, he didn't meet his friends to a very long period of time. And I think that would make him very lonely, and also if you think of it, loneliness has a potential or possibility to cause hallucinations which thus explains why "we", as the player, his imaginary friend. Loneliness, may also cause various different mental disorders, and it would be, I think the reason why Dave is "crazy".

Here’s some lore stuff about the plants from the first game-
The Earth produces a “thumping” frequency at which only Sunflowers can hear. It’s the reason why Sunflowers are always seen enthusiastically swaying their heads from side to side, even so in the midst of battle.
Cherry Bombs often bicker amongst themselves on whether or not they should either explode simply for the sake of exploding, or if they should preemptively detonate in case of an attack.
The Walnut has a near nonexistent nervous system, and so when enduring severe amounts of physical trauma, the feeling has been compared to a sort of tingling sensation.
Potato Mines are quite strategic.
Chompers are quite agile and possess a strong physicality.
Repeaters are incredibly hostile towards both plants and the undead. This hostility apparently stems from a harsh upbringing, which may act as an explanation as to why this particular plant tends to distance itself from others.
The Sun-Shroom disdains sunlight. Though what’s interesting is that the Sun-Shroom’s body naturally produces sunlight, and so when the Sun-Shroom undergoes this process, it essentially “forces” the sunlight out from its body.
There’s a rehabilitation center for the undead. One of the Grave Busters supposedly attends it to assist.
Hypno-Shrooms wish for a compromise between plants and the undead.
The Ice-Shrooms suffer from facial nerve paralysis, which is why they’re always seen dawning a stern expression. This stems from an injury that occurred during their development.
Lily Pads are quite secretive.
A Jalapeño’s goal is to eventually burst into flames.
Torchwood’s are highly revered for their truthfulness. Though, funny enough, they’re all illiterate.
Tall-Nuts are a variant of the Walnut.
Planters are said to consume “darkness” and “expel” light. There are a few theories regarding how exactly this process works, with some stating that it’s derived from a form of sorcery.
Starfruits possess a single tooth.
Flower Pots are a type of plant….
The Kernel-Pults are the eldest amongst their fellow Pults.
Garlics specialize in redirection.
Marigolds often contemplate the decision to either produce a silver coin or a gold coin. This decision is based on extensive research and statistics.
Gatling Peas are affiliated with the military.
The Twin Sunflower came into being as a result of surgically grafting the corpses of two Sunflowers. It was brought to life after enduring an electric shock.
The Cattail “barks” like a dog to differentiate itself from its namesake.
A war against the undead took place during the late 1970’s. According to an Imitater, there were no Peashooters or Jalapeños during that time.
Plants are apparently paid to fight against the undead.
Plants appear to be a highly intelligent species, rivaling humans. They attend human schools and occupy human jobs. Though, it appears that when a plant has nowhere else to go, they decide to take part in the fight against the undead.

I'm gonna be blunt. While some of these are directly quoting the Almanac, a lot of these read as fanfiction with terrible spelling ("dawning a stern expression"? REALLY? It's "DONNING" you know, like "to don the robes" or smth??) and explicitly not-supported-by-the-game random stuff. Like Twin Sunflower being born from an experiment is obviously canon, but we're never told HOW that experiment was done. Electricity and corpses being involved is pure speculation from the story of Frankenstein and his monster - which Twin Sunflower IS a reference to, but that doesn't mean she's two dead Sunflowers stitched together. There's a certain LEVEL of morbidity PopCap won't cross, and I think using corpses stitched together is well beyond that point.
- Chompers are explicitly NOT agile, what are you on about. It's Kinda the Point of Chomp Thing and Hot Rod that they're unique to the species for being so fast, and while that's not until GW1, it's still confirmation, and the concept of chompers being "agile" was never in the first game.
- Torchwood is not illiterate as a species. Almanac entries are meant to be about a specific specimen when direct interview style quotes are used (Peashooter in PvZ2 has an almanac entry that's about a single individual. His entry in the first game is addressing an individual who's speaking for the species.) Torchwood's entry in the first game is in the same vein as the ones where "a single member speaks for all of them" but is clearly meant to be about a specific single one. I'm pretty sure PvZ1 almanac entries are meant to be understood like they're clones? And illiteracy wouldn't be cloneable unless you force all clones to not learn to read, which at that point is injustice, not inability.
-Not every Ice-shroom has facial paralysis from a childhood injury. Just the one you're given, that the almanac entry is about. Another one of those "is this entry about an individual or the whole species" thing.
Don't ask me how I know this, but “squishy” is a better description for tofu, than for brains. brains are more gooey

I'm pretty sure Dave asks about your brain before the boss fight in Far Future right after Zomboss hypnotized him. Dave then snaps out of it after the boss fight.
Zomboss said that crazy Dave will turn back on you. He couldve been trying to seperate you both by hypnotising Dave.

You fight Dr. Zomboss with a Gatling Pea in a flower pot plane, and it's basically a rail shooter boss. Dr. Zomboss's attacks consist of giant ice balls that can contain power-ups, floating zombie heads and hats, a huge mouth laser, and an exploding ball of zombie parts

"zombies are allergic to wall nuts" that's true, there's a secret dead animation happened to zombie that eats the wallnut too much, his head (or mouth) inflates and then he died, this dead animation is pretty rare, just watch youtube if ya wanna know it

6:42 I think the point on the iceberg is about the unused gray zombie vase that was similar to the plant vase. It can be found in the games files and it was later used in PvZ2's vasebreaker mode.
I believe the "The almanac is a LIE" title is a reference to the game Portal "The cake is a lie"
Theory: The tree of wisdom is the same tree that's in the gw2 plants lobby, it's the tree where crazy Dave's house lay on top.

There's a theory (dont remember if its partly official or something, my pvz knowledge is very rusty) that Dave became crazy because of paranoia, he knew what Zomboss was doing and he prepared himself with the plants that he created

1:33 I think this secretion is more talking about how you find the Imitaters entry, and not the entry itself. After buying the plant a faded pencil doodle of it appears in the top left corner of the Plant Almanac, which clicking with give you the Imitater Entry
Fun fact: In "Plants vs. Zombies: Game of the Year Edition" for the PC, there is graphics for the Target Zombie from the Vs Mode, hinting that Vs mode was possibly plan for the enhanced PC port, before being scrapped

As for my own theory on "you" being in Dave's mind, I think the Zombies ARE real, this is more so the fact that in games like this, your character is just a viewer with a mouse, so you don't technically exist, as a computer mouse planting things doesn't make sense in this universe. So what if you are actually Dave and Dave talking to "you" is just him being CRRRRAZY
About the death by wall nut, it happens very rarely when a zombie dies but not by wall nut, it's exclusive to goty, in console it's replace by what you said

I have a theory of the relationship between Crazy Dave and Dr Zomboss. The two used to be coworkers, a pair of scientists working on a shared project. Something happened during their research, and the two of them were driven mad. Dave's insanity fragmented his memories, so he does not remember working with Zomboss, and does not remember the project they were doing. Zomboss remembers, but due to his own insanity, he never attempts to make Dave remember their past together.

I've always adored this game. It's a comfort game to me. I'd play versus mode with my brother. I started playing it again recently, and even finished it, which is something I was never able to do as a kid. Popcap games in general were a big part of my childhood. Same thing with the company Maxus, both of which are now under EA. Spore, Bookworm Adventures, Bejeweled, PVZ, and more were big staples of my childhood.

8:30 with all due respect well i dont really see that as possible either, sense he has always sided and helped the plants in many of the games, the bumbling voice he has could also be some kind of plant language instead sense alot of the voicelines the gw plant classes have are incoherent nonsense aswell.(aside from sunflower who occasionally mumbles English at times) and theyre skin isnt pale green or missing a nose

The zombie alergic in wall nut is a referenced to a very rare death animation of a zombie wich if they eat a wall nut there's a chance that they will sufocate to death lol
Zombotany was originally the Zomboss theme but it didn't sound energetic enough so they replaced it.
This editing is legendary
while it is completely possible that the player doesn't exist and Crazy Dave is imagining the entirety of Plants Vs. Zombies and Plants Vs. Zombies 2, personally I like to think that Crazy Dave buys and sells Zen Garden Plants with many different home owners, and uses the Zen Garden Plants to help other home owners defend themselves, with his main profit being purchases from his shop and a Marigold farm he has set up somewhere, and his reason for buying one person's fully grown Plants then planting them down when another person needs one planted is because he is crazy
also, some of Dave's lines from 5-5 and 5-10 support the fact that he has witnessed others fight off the zombies, as in 5-5 his dialogue heavily implies that he has seen 5-5, and in 5-10 Dave tries to remember what Zomboss' weakness is, and both of those would make quite a bit of sense if Dave has seen other people beat all of the levels
plus Dave was only let go by zomboss AFTER the dance party, as in one scene, he's still held captive by a bungee
but I dont think zomboss has been beaten before we did it, dave would probably know his weakness, as he likely worked with zomboss before

Im pretty sure spike weeds "degrading animation" is just his basic body.
When you go into the games files and edit images, for spike weed, its the body with some spiles on it, and the other spikes are selerate images.
Fun fact.
In the files, spikeweed is called caltrop.

dave is NOT a zombie for a few reasons:
-he was the only one in the zombie apocalypse
-he was so used to zombies eating peoples brains that he accidently said brains
-dave wears a pot on his head not like zombies, but to defend against zombies trying to eat his brain
-he has gone insane from fighting, making him unable to speak well
- dave still has hair unlike the zombies
-if dave can give you a wallnut and not eat it like a zombie would, he cant be a zombie
-he probably fought off the zombies when being grabbed by a bungee zombie (somehow)
-dave isnt a zombie as he still has pale skin and not green skin, or well, dead grey-ish skin
dave couldve just been super insane to seem like a zombie
9:13 The Ice Level is a level for an April Fools build in 2008. People were essentially confused and “The level is broken!“ but that was the whole joke, it was *frozen* for a whole joke. This explains why the Ice Level does not appear to function in the final game when accessed in the Limbo Page.

The Michael Jackson zombie was actually removed because of a bad time, and a few weeks later after the game was made, he died sadly

Pvz is my favorite game I knew almost all of this I am so glad this game is still kinda alive
