You're welcome! I've had a few of these timers for over 10 years, and they're still working great. At less than $6 each, they're hard to beat. Thanks for the comment!
Great video!! I had watched other people trying to explain this exact timer and they were confusing….. your video is concise and very easy to follow. Thank you so much 😊 You did an excellent job explaining everything!!!
Hey there, great video! What if one intends to run the pump for say 15 minutes (or 10 or 12 etc) instead of half an hour (like the intervals set on this particular mechanical timer) Thanks :)
Thank you! Some mechanical timers have 15 min intervals. For smaller intervals you’ll need a digital timer. This Vivosun timer allows for up to 20 programed times per day: amzn.to/3pBkl1P (aff)
Menards has cement mixing totes for 12 dollars. you can set this on top of a Brute tote with Ebb and Flow fittings. It is a supper cheap Ebb and Flow system. Give it a try maybe. I like Ebb and Flow. 8" netting pots can grow large plants.
I haven’t tried this with a television, but I think it would work the way you’re intending. Most televisions don’t automatically turn back on once they’ve lost power for a significant amount of time.
This is the most helpful video I found, thank you!
I’m glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Why didn't I think of this before?! Such a simple and effective solution. I was looking at expensive app connected options. This is awesome, thanks!

Thanks for the comment! Yep, that was how I built my first ebb and flow system. Thanks for watching!
Thanks man. Question. Am I going to here the timer tic or is it going to be silent?
It’s pretty quiet, but it does make a slight mechanical sound.
tnk u for your explanation
You are most welcome!
Can the interval be adjusted to 40 minutes run time and 20 minutes off. Or do you have the link to a timer that does that?
I think this one is 15 minute intervals so it’d be more like 45 on 15 off.
@@HydroHowTo thanks for the reply
You know there's somebody who needs to hear this lol
You're not wrong lol

Can you use this as an OFF switch only? I always turn on my moms tv manually.
I haven’t tried this with a television, but I think it would work the way you’re intending. Most televisions don’t automatically turn back on once they’ve lost power for a significant amount of time.
What happens if I turn off the power 🔌 ; will the timer ⏲️ still work at the current time it's set for? Do I have to turn the dial, again?
The timer needs power to keep time correctly. If your timer goes without power you’ll need to turn the dial to the correct time.
All of my pins are pushed in and I cant get them out.
What do I do?
You should be able to pop them up with your fingernail.
i want to set the timer for 5pm and turn off 9pm? please help.
On the dark side you need to push down ever tab from 5 to 9
It met stupid question.. do you have to rest timer every day ?
Nope, the timer will continue to work every day as long as it's plugged into power.
I ave one and i want to set it up on my cloneing bin for 15 minute
Does your timer have 15min intervals?
How do you reset the little black dials -- if you press them by mistake?
To reset them, just pull them back up with your fingernail. There is a little lip on the outer side of each of the buttons. Hope that helps!
If I click three dials at different times. Will I have to keep clicking the black dials daily at those intervals?
I set my timer yesterday, but I'm not sure-- if I have to do it again or will it automatically keep turning on at the previous times.
@@Charlie-gv3zt Once you set the timer, it will continue to work every day as long as it's plugged into power.
@@HydroHowTo You are the best, thank you.
the clock being counter clock wise is so confusing
Only reason i'm here is to try and decipher that insanity...
