      Most of the homeowners did not care or not know how to avoid clogging in the kitchen sink. We avoided all the left over cooking oil and/or nasty stuffs dumping into the sink. After my kitchen has remodeled over five years ago, the sink has been working good.

      Steve your attention to detail and just forming a "incredible work ethic where you give 110% to each job regardless of the working condition's is what separates you from the bottom feeders. The sad part is the unqualified bottom feeders are just the ppl who are the source of the entire 20% of plumber's who are either Lazy, ignorant and self taught using working standards reflecting directly from their personal lives. Lastly they simply lack the ability to take pride in their work. I found the entire problem of getting a tradesman who is better than 90% of their peers have at minimum 10 solid years in the field and have a great happy customer base that has only positive and good things to say about him! Jon T, Michigan. Btw, I would love to be a apprentice with a great teacher like him. 586-246-0987 - just saying..lol.. I'm just the type of person that has the same work ethic and I would rather be working in condition's I am not happy with than being a hack with my name on a job!

    Agreed that oil or grease can totally clog up a drain. It solidifies like lard in the drain further down, catching all of the debris and creating a serious clog. Good job with the plumbing snake to clear the path.

    No leftover mounting nuts for the faucet in ur toolbox? No strap wrench to loosen the chrome spout?. Need riser loop on Dishwasher drain hose. Illegal to use full solvent weld p-trap under kitchen sink, even with a clean out. Sorry for being critical, but I'm a 33 year Master Plumber, now a County Plumbing Inspector, and Plumbing Teacher for 13 years. While I agree with scrapping the faucet, you never checked that the shut offs were all the way on, or if the braided steel supply was twisted. Plus, vertical dishwasher tailpiece drains better than a horizontal all glue. Please dont be upset with me. Just sayin'

    Just did my own sink from hell over the last few days. Got my parents a faucet for Christmas because it was leaking around the handle and the hold down nuts broke off and my parents didn't want to replace it so I got them one as a gift. Went to put it in and the supply kinked off and broke (was a shitty corrugated bendy line) had to go to hardware store to buy new ones put them in and found the drain basket strainer leaking tightened it and it broke (brass tailpiece) went back to hardware store and put a stainless steel strainer and finally no leaks. Shit show mama, I will forever have mirror-touch syndrome watching your videos from now on.

    And I say that cause there were a few times when I got everything put together, and shit started to leak. Then I needed to figure out why, and re-do things again. ~~I guess practice makes perfect, cause I've had some that didn't leak once finished. :)

    Haven't you learned the trick of taking the supply off the cold stop and hooking up a supply with a copper tube extension with a bent and crimped end. It will shoot a strong stream to clean the whole area. Then you stick it in next to the snake and blast it with control of the water flow at the stop. The older Delta ball valve faucets have the perfect piece of copper with the 1/2 inch fitting to fit the supply. I always had one in my tool bucket.

    A lot of people think it is ok to pour grease down the sink drain. My Mom would Never do that!! She has always told Me to put any kind of grease in a jar or something and NEVER pour it down the kitchen sink.

    Steven ... The technique is pretty good, it's just that there is less awareness at the time of installation, the end of the pipe is not cleaned first

    LOL! That is the Harlem Shake sink faucet. Lots of work Steve. I like the Y pipe design so you can open the capped off side to snake the line. Mine is not like that. It's a piece of $hit piping under there.

    Why does the sink seem to be set up to only have room on one side for a faucet? Or am I looking at it wrong?

    • @stevenlavimoniere
      @stevenlavimoniere  9 років тому +1

      +Marlon Peters they do make faucets that you can place the spout in the left side hole handle in the middle and spray to the right . this is the faucet the homeowner picked out .for this job i just installed it for him .
