Tim, it was a pleasure to meet you in person. Having watched a ton of your stuff, I felt as if I already knew you. Glad you liked my cat and I hope your arm heals soon. Look me up next time your back down this way.
Cat was the only company that offered everything my wife wanted in her new 302. That combined with their superior support and seven year warranty, you said it right when you said you get what you pay for. I’ve been breaking trail for her in the Maine woods all week and the machine is a dream of comfort and productivity. Be well Tim, rest up
Great machine for it's size, cat great products, Ac is a must down here the south.. keep looking and you will find the correct size /power machine for you..
Some fairly out there LGP - low ground pressure small excavators are those in Ireland. F F Polymers makes a range of wide Nyrim trackpads that can lower track ground pressure down to 1.2 psi (for a 7.5 ton excavator). Make the swing machine fit the job. With the larger port dockside cranes, the local port is lifting Cat 538 log loaders (70K lbs)onto the log ships to stack the logs in the holds. Probably among the few options left is for Tigercat to build some urban backyard logging machinery.
Table spoon of white vinegar to a pint of warm water. Soak a clothe in it and lay it on the stitches for 10-15 minutes. I then put a prescription ointment on the cut and wrap it back up.
I own 2 308E2 CR with FJX S/N prefix. they are very powerful machines. The factory thumb is not very robust. They tend to spread at the top pin over time. I have replaced one at about 4K hours and the the other is OK at 2.4 K hours. Thompson Machinery in the top half of the state should give you good service. Cat parts inventory is great. I run 36 inch bucket on both machines doing septic and drainage work. Does this machine have a quick coupler? If so is it hydraulic or manual screw type? It weighs about 18K lbs and you can pull it with your Ram with the right tandem dually trailer.
Enjoyed following you on your trip, what a beefy machine. You are 100% correct on protecting your skin because I am a prime example and 17 I was diagnosed with melanoma on my left shoulder took a huge chunk out of my shoulder and the lymph nodes it was OK for six months and it came back on my lungs, was scheduled for 40 Key Truda treatments everything was going fine but On number 27 My body said that was it no more, now they have found some on the brain and I’m taking a different chemo for you so you are correct look after your skin. I’m like you I had formed all my life Hunnit all my life finished all my life and probably didn’t look after my skin like I should have, so everybody listen to why the man is trying to tell you it’s not a fun trip. Thanks Tim for putting out the word
I ran one like that and it's pretty stout. I don't know anything bout the deere or Kubota but that one is strong for its size. I think that's the biggest one you can get with the blade on it
I would recommend you to check out the cat 309 , it has a dual hydraulic pumps and seems to have all kinds of power , and when you use other hydraulic devices while running the backhoe , you barely loose any digging power to dig 😎
That'd be a good machine for you I'd think for lifting the heavier logs and on the off chance you did have to fool with some stumps you'd have the power and weight to to do it. We're running a 2017 cat 305 e2 and while it's a good machine it's not big enough. We do a lot of lot clearing in gated subdivisions and it's to hard to get a lowboy in there to haul our big machine and the little 305 just takes forever with the big hardwoods. We're looking at the new cat 310. Like to have that along with a grapple like you have on your Kubota.
I know that this was about the 308, and you chatted about the size of the machine. That's why I made the comment on the 310 still considered a mini excavator.
Tim the 308 CR is in the mini excavator category and the weight is 20077 pounds with their 165 operator weight guess without a operator it’s under 20000 thousand pounds
I have been looking at Sanys they have some good deals and supposedly a good support network, I am looking at like a 95- 100 series machine. my last machine was a 50 series Hitatchi love that little machine would get in a back yards great but didn't have the strength I was looing for. Most of the machines I have ran in the past were the real big stuff the 400-1200 series and when I bought a small one it was a learning curve due to no strength with the little one's also I like the little one's with the standard set back boom I don't like the one's that have the backhoe swing or offset booms. I don't need that option and feel they have to many wear points.
Tim my wife died from Melanoma, how serious is it, well she was working a regular indoor job and within 3 weeks of having no symptoms she was dead..3 weeks! What's so bad about skin cancer you ask well 1) you don't think much about it because usually the bad spots don't look serious, small mole looking spots..2) by the time you notice it or its bugging you on your skin it's usually too late.
Not everyone wants to be put out there ? I feel you've lost your original passion of the Timber industry which provided for your family ?? Please don't forget where you came from this little you tube stuff really doesn't matter when you lose sight of what's important
Im using a yanmar sv100, a 21k lb. machine. It is stout as hell and has good power but its the ergonomics and small things that really show the difference from cat. Not as refined which is another reason for the price difference.
Tim, it was a pleasure to meet you in person. Having watched a ton of your stuff, I felt as if I already knew you. Glad you liked my cat and I hope your arm heals soon. Look me up next time your back down this way.
Good to meet new folks. Hope that arm heals soon.

Your wife wanted? Lol
Yanmar all the way owned 2 100s so far great machines👍
Just took delivery on a 305. Absolutely love it. Exceeds all of the expectations.
That 308 is a good machine for its size. Very fast and responsive.
Nice machine Tim, that 308 would definitely get the job done, look forward to seeing the new piece that you have, thanks for sharing 💪🇺🇲

It’s a progressive link.
Great machine for it's size, cat great products, Ac is a must down here the south.. keep looking and you will find the correct size /power machine for you..

Nice video Tim..On Cats website the 310 is still considered a mini excavator... The 310 is about 22k with all the add on..
What is the vinegar treatment? What does it do?

the kubota are accully the cheapest and affordable product on the market
Check out the 306cr we love ours. Strong machine plus very easy to haul around!

Was he just dredging that out or making the pond bigger?
He was building the whole pond.
Hope your arm feels better and heals up nicely.... Yanmar dealers down your way?
👍
Tim I don't know if your aware of this or not but Deere does all of their excavators they spilt with Hitachi.
I know that this was about the 308, and you chatted about the size of the machine. That's why I made the comment on the 310 still considered a mini excavator.

Stick with the Kabotas

That machine made in China?
You should come run my 60d sometime.
U can't go wrong with a cat .

Something is not right with the cat excavator becarefal
Glad you got out of prison. It was great to meet you at your chainsaw class
Way over priced parts and unit get into a yanmar great units

308 is a mid sized machine in my opinion. It puts the Kubota, Yanmar, Tekauchi, Bobcat mini’s to shame.
Im using a yanmar sv100, a 21k lb. machine. It is stout as hell and has good power but its the ergonomics and small things that really show the difference from cat. Not as refined which is another reason for the price difference.
