    The innovation is pretty amazing - I'm wondering if we'll see a 6 gallon 2.4+ SCFM 120V version next, that can take a wall adapter like the 12" FlexVolt miter saw.

    No AC power option is game breaker for me. Would be great if it did (with a built in charger). A car 12V outlet plug in would sweeten the deal. As you said, more options are better.

    • @Roffepuck
      @Roffepuck Рік тому

      Just buy a Flexvolt ac adapter, and you'll have a "battery" with a cord to plug in the wall.

  • @justind6039
    @justind6039 7 років тому +4

    Yep, I want one. I can't count the times I've had flat tires on running gears out on the farm no where close to air. I suspect a bare tool model is coming?

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews 7 років тому

      Here's hoping! If they do sell it for bare tool, I'm guessing it would be $180-200, which is an absolute steal. The FlexVolt 7-1/4" one battery kit retails for the same $300 price as this compressor kit, and that bare tool option is $180 for just the saw.

    At 70 psi( minimum rating for my nailer) I was able to get 32-36 1 1/2" 16g nails into standard door casing. All were countersunk with no issues.

    • @WorkshopAddict

      Brett Kowalewski before the unit turned on?

    • @brettkowalewski9535
      @brettkowalewski9535 7 років тому

      Yes. The higher the outgoing psi is set, the less shots it produces before recovery. Pneumatics always have the max recommended psi printed on them. If you check the manual for the gun, the specs will usually give a range(70-120) which is the sweet spot range for optimum performance. It's rare I ever run a nailer at max recommended psi, especially with trim which is MDF or pine 90% of the time. Even framing guns are used mostly for new pine lumber. I think they only print the max psi number on the tool because most guys toss the manual in the trash and they want us to run the tool at the max settings. They sell more tools and parts when tools are used at the max settings, especially when most nailers are also oil less.

    I wish dewalt offered an ac adapter like they do for the miter saw I’d even pay extra for it.

    • @adamyaw
      @adamyaw 5 років тому +1

      I think part of the issue is that the miter saw is dual 60v (54v) batteries so it’s already running at 110v basically where the rest are running at 1/2 of that. I have the Flexvolt table saw and use is all day on one battery typically but I agree that having that option would be great

    • @ionstorm66
      @ionstorm66 5 років тому +2

      @@adamyaw it dosent work like that. 120v ac rectified to DC is 170v. So they already have to regulate the power to 120v. I be the issue is the single battery tools draw a lot of peak current, so the adapter would have to be fairly beefy.

    • @WorkshopAddict
      @WorkshopAddict  7 років тому

      With any compressor that holds oil, it will be in the manual to break it in, similar to allowing the pistons to wear into the cylinder wall. Oil free units usually told you to break those in similarly. This unit will get very hot in the break in and that will help get everything seated and sealed well.

    Some say that Flexvolt is failing and won't make it but uses like this prove there's plenty that can be done with the extra amps. Like it. #workshopaddict

    • @WorkshopAddict
      @WorkshopAddict  7 років тому

      You mean the extra volts? The battery is a 6.0 Ah 20 volt or a 2.0 Ah 60 volt. I like the flexvolt system, but using the flexvolt batteries on many of the 20 volt tools does not work for me. The flexvolt batteries are very large and heavy and do not fit, IMHO, in a drill, impact driver or impact wrench.
