An obvious favorite for me and my wife is Splendor Duel as well as Forest Shuffle. But a few hidden gems that we enjoy include Noch Mal!, Shifting Stones, Masters of Renaissance - Lorenzo il Mafnifico - The Card Game, and Trails of Tucano.
@@MeeplePhD whether it’s the old-school retail or the Uber-deluxe version…. It’s a super fantastic game that plays wonderfully at 2. A crunchy euro that plays in under an hour at 2pl
I feel like I really need to check out Ark Nova. I'm really into nature/animal theme games so it might be up my ally. One game we have been playing a lot at two players is Forest Shuffle. It is a lot of fun in a fairly small box.
Most of my adult gaming is done 2-player (due to a lack of friends!), and my favourite epic 2-player game is War of the Ring, while my favourite lighter 2-player games are the whole Mr. Jack series of games (which ought to include Le Fantôme de l'Opéra).

Splendor Duel is a great choice! I've eyed Shifting Stones at the game store sooo many times -- I'll need to finally give it a try.
I’m a big fan of Castles of Burgundy at 2 player.
Oooo! We don't own it, so I've only gotten to play at game nights...and only with 4 players.

I haven't tried Forest Shuffle, but it's on my list to try!
Have you played targi my favourite 2 player game
I haven't tried that one yet! But I've heard really good things about it.

I haven't tried any of those! I fear that War of the Ring might be too big a game for me, but I've had Mr. Jack on my radar.
