World | Immunity ruling in Donald Trump's favour

The US Supreme Court has ruled that former President's enjoy absolute immunity from prosecution for official acts while in office in a blistering decision that split the Court along idealogical lines. The 6-3 decision overrules lower court decisions that rejected former President Donald Trump's effort to shield himself from criminal prosecution involving attempts to undermine the result of the 2020 election which he lost.
