Thank You Emily for sharing your story about your son Caleb and his Mission President. My son is on his mission right now & that's how I feel, that Jesus Will reach our reaching but We have to have enough faith to take the first step. I also love that you mentioned Peters buddies may have been cheering him on because he did walk on water and we do tend to gloss over that part so thank you for that.
I’m far away serving a mission with my husband in Trinidad, but I appreciate being able to access this! There are no LDS bookstores, few materials, and few members here, but they have the fullness of the gospel! I was drawn to re-visit the beautiful song “Weepin’ Mary” (which also describes Peter a- sinking) sung on UA-cam by Fauneil Gleason Purcell, my nephew & his wife’s friend. It’s even grammatically correct here, when it starts “Are there anybody here” as the local Creole/Trine speech is linguistically different than in North America...
I love learning from you two each week. I feel as if I am sitting at the feet of Jesus filling my cup. I hope that the Savior knows the intent of my heart! I too will take the crumbs. Believer or Beggar? I choose to believe.
It's important to remember a few things about the dog and the crumbs. This was a very specific instance of challenging Christ's focus of his ministry. She was a Gentile. Jesus could not break his intended mission to the House of Judah. Judah was the child - Gentiles could not receive sustenance directly from Christ. She was insightful enough both to recognize and honor this. This is particularly significant as an evidence. It shows that Christ remained focused on his earthly mission to the House of Judah (it is only in his atonement and death that the rest of us are served). In this, their rejection of him cannot be blamed on somehow Christ's focus being distracted on others. He ONLY taught the House of Judah. The Samaritan woman presents an interesting exception, as she would have been a descendant of Ephraim and Manasseh (note the even greater significance of the rejection of Samaritans as they too will offer salvation to the House of Judah).
Thanks for the comments. I would not understand the significance of the dog crumbs without this video and then your comment on the savior's earthly focus
I've also thought about when the disciples go away and Jesus asks the apostles if they will leave too that he is giving them an opportunity to bear their testimonies. I find that when I bear my testimony the thing I am testifying about is cemented more and becomes more a part of me which is important when hard things come. Just a thought.
Haha! Self-reliance lesson! How many times have we complained we needed something we thought would fix it all. Instead of blessing the man with that thing Christ gave him strength to do it for himself.
Ok, so a few weeks ago, i left a comment that Bro Butler was doing too much talking(in a respectful way i said that), and Sis Freeman needed to voice out more, i see the difference* Not sure if it was my comment, but you guys are doing great* #LDSNATION
Would love the audio turned into a podcast so I can listen when I'm driving! Love your videos every week!
I listen while driving all the time via the UA-cam channel, so it is possible even in this format.
Do you stream it or can you download it on WiFi? I don’t want to use data
@@dresdenrobins65 you could probably do either. I never remember to download, so I guess I use data
I loved your story about the pictures of Christ and your son’s experience getting out to the mission field. Thank you for sharing that!

Come follow Jesus
Law of consecration- when we have to share our limited food storage ir other resources Christ will bless our donation to be enough and to spare.
Could you move out from in front of the board every once in a while or give us a shot of it
It’s on the study guide. You can print it before you start watching and follow along.

Interesting, I thought the other way though, that he needed to speak more, but didn't presume to say anything...
