Because of the Dalai Lama's association with the CIA, (credit MIT world history) and the US State Department's funding of the DL's compound in Dharmasula, (credit US State Department website), I'm careful what views I accept. My wife is Tibetan, because there were no roads, bridges, airports, trains, indoor plumbing, hospitals, schools, electricity, or infrastructure under the DL, she had to hike with her sick mother and family from Lhasa to the Chinese border as a 12 year old child. I love the entire region including Xin Jiang, but the politics sicken me.
I am from Himachal, India. Dharamshala is kind of like overrated by foreigners and is nothing beautiful according to Himalayan standards imo. There are more beautiful places like Manali, Parvati Vallley, Lahaul Valley, Spiti Valley, Kinnaur, Ladakh that you could visit. The landscape is more beautiful and the surrounding mountains are way bigger. Although if you do want to visit Dharamshala, try doing Indrahar pass trek if you can or you can go upto Triund.

Manaslu Circuit with Tsum Valley is a good one then! There is a circular route called the "Kyimolung Pilgrimage" that crosses through Tsum and Nubri valleys, and into Tibet. In April of 2015, I was booked to go from Qingdao, China to Kathmandu, Nepal. I had already rented a motorcycle, in advance, because scooters and motorcycles are not easily rented after you arrive. Wham bang, the 7.1 Nepal earthquake struck and there was no airport in Nepal. I called China Eastern and they suggested I trade my ticket for. a different destination. Of the choices, Taiwan proved to have the best connections. I enjoyed Taiwan but wish I could visit Nepal. I'm 73 in September and I may not make it back to Nepal. Win a few, lose a few, and a few get rained out. Satchel Paige.
If there are food and accommodation along the treek you really don't need that big of a backpack.. 6kg is enough.. never done this one but after watching the video I feel like I must.. my favourite is still the ABC treek.. no roads or traffic just pure nature, it's magic
The whole border area next to Tibet is more Tibetan than Nepalese. Actually the word "Nepal" meant only the Kathmandu Valley as recently as 50 years ago. There are many places where both trade and social contacts are mostly across the border to Tibet, not Hindu Nepal. Just think of Dolpo, upper Mustang, east Nepal like Olangchung Gola and Thudam region (they do not care about the hindu laws protecting cows there as an example). Even Khumbu is "Tibetan", even though the border traffic has been there suppressed and commercialisation has made the villages look like resorts. Also the languages spoken in those areas are actually Tibetan dialects.
But it's still in Nepal though..so what are you trying to say?!...Nepal can have tibetan dialects and culture too.... Nepal is not a culture, it's a country!

I trekked here in '99. You won't find many better places on earth. And you won't find any better people. They are what makes this place so special.
Very true. Thanks for watching 💛🙏🏻 More in the Himalayas coming soon 😊
Everything happens for a reason! I'm sure Taiwan was full of great experiences. Hope you can visit Nepal sometime. Thanks for watching 💛🙏🏻
For some reasons, this video was recommended by UA-cam and eventually watched entirely. Wholesome trip and documentation! Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad UA-cam recommended it! Thanks for watching 😊
If there are food and accommodation along the treek you really don't need that big of a backpack.. 6kg is enough.. never done this one but after watching the video I feel like I must.. my favourite is still the ABC treek.. no roads or traffic just pure nature, it's magic
Very true! The only reason I had such a large bag was to carry my photography gear. If you’re not filming you can do this trek quite minimally 😊
28.6.2023.First class, very good and best.🦓🦍🐕🦺.I am awaiting more videos like this.Thank you.
Thank you again 💛🙏
Thank you for sharing! I’m glad to know more about such a beautiful region. I hope to visit both Dolpo and Upper Mustang soon 😊
Cow is national animal of Nepal...last year police shot dead 2 Muslims for killing cow....
@@bijayabaruwal4968 In theory bringing beef jerky to Nepal for trekking snack could bring a long prison sentence...
@@tapioportimo2551 not really imported beef can be found here in nepal its just not aloud to slaughter a cow but you can import it
But it's still in Nepal though..so what are you trying to say?!...Nepal can have tibetan dialects and culture too.... Nepal is not a culture, it's a country!
Both of you are Incredibly kind that you shared this video, it’s an amazing place full of wonder and mystic age. Thank you with all my heart
Thank you so much 💛🙏🏻 Yes it is truly amazing 😊
@@NicholasEager your welcome you make incredibly real videos it’s easy to tag along, and it’s great work for the ages, documented for future reference it’s beautiful what ever it is your doing right thank goodness for that cos a tone of videos are way to manufactured. Thank you for your kindness 🌈🌻
Hi, nice video. I'm thinking of going to Nepal in Oct/Nov and I'd like to do this trek. Where did you find your guide? Also, do you think it's reasonable to do two treks in one trip, I'd quite like to do Manaslu and ABC during my time in Nepal but I don't know if that would be too much.
Hi! Manaslu is a great choice for your trek. Oct/Nov would be a great time to do so too. We found our guide through a friend. Send me a DM if you’d like to chat more. You can totally do two treks in one trip! We actually did that, but didn’t record the second one 😊
Well, if you were here right now. We have forests in the mountains red with rhododendron blooming. Looks really awesome.
Pristine beauty. Missed by so many. These moments should be treasured for their blessings of simplistic, yet awe inspiring creation.
Truly! Thanks for watching 💛🙏🏻 See you next time 😊

This place, the local people, springs, mountains, lakes and buildings have a transcendent energy.
