1980s - my mate and I marching down the streets and subways in top to toe black leather, suited and booted ,shades on, this song ringing in our heads. Top of the world.
I knew their road manager Peasy (now manager of Echo & The Bunnymen) and went with them from Liverpool to Leeds to play a university gig. They were supported by The Cranberries, yet to break through.
In addition to both Top and its song being great in this video, the video itself was great. I liked the occasional skewing of the images that I saw in this video. I also liked seeing the old classic buildings in the background as well.
Read about them in Select magazine back in 1992 I think? Hot Dallas summer. Loved their look and title of their debut single “No.1 Dominator”. Later that day I was listening to 94.5 The Edge radio station and they had a call in request hour. I called and got thru and requested this track just to hear the sound I read about that very day. The dj was taken back as they had just got the single and popped it on for the first time in and I was hooked. I knew it would be. Got the cd when it came out.
Heh. Club Trees was my spot. Don’t remember the Bomb Factory…I know there were several places around Deep Ellum. I also had like four summer jobs and didn’t have the free time I wish I had. Spent summers in Dallas working for tuition money then heading back up to OU in Norman for the school year. Good times.
@@kevlewis5163 Thank you. Not an Oasis fan, but that is band info, nonetheless. I would check out any band that any member is directly associated with.
This song randomly popped into my head decades after hearing it, don’t think it was even a hit. Looks like an American trying to impersonate British indie pop, am I right or totally wrong?
Think it was the industry playing catch-up; Tony Mortimer from East 17, doing an impression of Noel Gallagher, doing an impression of Shaun Ryder...☺ cool all the same.
Great Liverpool band. Paul Cavanagh vocals, was also in Smaller and Gloss. Sadly, the drummer Alan Wills died in 2014 after a cycling accident at the age of 52. He was original drummer in SHACK and founder of Deltasonic records (The Coral, Zutons) etc.
Was looking for Dominator (Human Resource). Haha... Totally forgot about this one. Might even add that it's a pretty solid track. The Human Resource is pure cheese... But then it was when it was released too.

I think I saw you guys in "A Night At The Roxbury"

Late 80s/Early 90s were a magical time
Spring of 92' all over again. 21 @ the time! :D
Right on. Loved this song back in the day and its holding up well. I really like their song "I Want You" as well.

Thanks. I've missed that song. Always reminded me of early Psychedelic Furs.
Que buen música con toque de rock alternativo o britpop.
Great song! -- Really slipped through the cracks!
Queens hall Bradford 1991 with a band called cranberries supporting only about 100 there if my memory serves. Me right . Happy memories

Have loved the album since '92. Can't find any band background or info. Where in England are they from? Thanks.
They're from Liverpool. Paul the singer was bassist in Smaller fronted by Digsy Deary who the song Digsy's Dinner by Oasis is about.

RIP Dave Courtney
I remember this absurd song. It’s like it was written to be a theme song to Godzilla or some anime crap was not good enough
Yes, exactly. I often find myself saying in utter disbelief, "This song was actually played on the radio. Yikes!"
