@@smagusmc7436 No paint job is perfect not even on brand new cars......if not corrected ceramic coating will magnify the smallest defect area

I know a lot of people swear by ceramic coating but IMO after I clay bar the car then apply beadmaker it has a brilliant shine so I see zero reason to spend $3000 on ceramic coating. Fact is it doesn’t last for years so it needs to be reapplied at some point.
And no, it does NOT protect the car from rock chips. Anyone who says or believes that has no idea what they are talking about.
Your money is better spent on PPF because the new stuff from both XPEL and SUNTEK has ceramic coating!

Rick wonderful as always. My C8 will be built this week. And my wife and I are doing a museum delivery. I will film some of it and show all the aftermarket mods I am doing and tell about each one. Thanks you for all the wonderful information you keep me coming back. 😀👍👍👍Ken

Great looking ceramic finish Rick. I did mine like in 4 days with steps Avalon King required came out great maybe not a professional job but it looks great and easier to keep clean and a fantastic shine suppose to last 3-5 years. I use Meguiars Ceramic detail cleaner on it to keep the finish looking great and cleaning it at the same time don't wash it at all kept in the garage. Have a great day Rick. Tom from SC

Great Tech Tuesday! It was interesting what Chuck had to say about some of the maintenance that people should do but try to push the limit of the oil or DCT. It's NOT worth trying to save a buck. Great vlog (as always!). Love the V8 in the Front and the Rear! 😂

As a detailer by hobby....ensure you paint correct before coating. Make sure you hire someone who can correct and dial in your ride prior to applying coating. Best Rick!

I have all my cars ceramic coated and PPF’d…a must have to keep the car looking it’s best with less effort to keep clean! I hope Chevy offers a red intake for the Z06 like the pace car has on it 🙏 The RSC car in the rides segment is 🔥 Always glad to be featured during the segment…first time for the folks car…they’ll be stoked to hear 👍🙌👌

Who handles the PPF 3M? Picking my new Carbon Flash 70th Anniversary this week. The dealer also pitched me on CC said they spray it on the exterior and interior which I’ve never heard of before? Please advise further I’m in Northwest Indiana needs some leads on responsible vendors that can help with the after purchase necessary add on’s. Thank Y and God Bless!❤
I changed the oil and Trans filter at 3000 miles will change them again at 7500.just being over cautious. So have 3m wrap a d ceramic coating over that.best thing I've ever put on. A car easy clean
Hi Thomas, is that normal for people to wrap the car and then coat it? I am expecting delivery of my car in the fall and I'm trying to figure out how to protect the paint. Just curious how it has worked out for you.
@@danielrushing2795 you. Can just coat the car like Rick did. But to protect it from chips and scratches you would need to wrap the car.you can wrap parts of the car or the entire car.it is expensive but worth e ery penny.yes the wrap should be ceramic coated it will look awsome and easy to keep

Hey Rick, another great Tech Tuesday. I just talked to a company that will do a full PPF and then a ceramic coat. Since I keep cars for 15 or more years that’s the way to go. By the way your looks good, may have to change my color now.

When the car got road rash, did the ceramic coat help protect it? How did you get it out?
It’s not armor. It may help block fingertip swipe type scuff but it won’t stop scratches. It’s more of a hydrophobic coating making it easier to clean ppf is a piece of plastic that blocks the paint from light scuffs. Ceramic cleans easier

Honestly, compared to other sports cars, the C8 does not have complicated maintenance. The car even reminds you when critical things need to be done. Amazing vehicles!

The question I cant get a clear answer to and maybe Chuck can answer this. My 2020 HTC has to have the filter and transmission oil changed very soon. Now putting fresh oil in do I ask for the extra two quarts to be added but I don't track the car? Or do I ask for the same measure of oil that was in the car? Or do I compromise and just add one extra quart of transmission oil? What doe s Chuck do when changing the transmission oil of a C8 non tracked Corvette? Thanks.
Thanks for watching , we have talked about this before - as per GM if not tracking it you do not need the extra two quarts , me personally it gave me piece of mind having the extra 2 qts in I guess just for overall protection hilly roads any aggressive driving . Many feel knowing there was a void of the fluid better to have it added than not but GM tells us not to worry …most of my clients add it regardless

My dealership here in Canada (Jack McGee) has pushed back twice on me about the DCT filter saying it isnt covered...going to find a new dealership!

If I check my paper work how will I know if the dealer changed the DCT cartridge? Will it be listed on the sheet as such?

Rick, once again very informative today.
March 9th was the one year anniversary for my 2021 with 1100 miles, the "change oil soon" alert came on around 1050 miles. So I called the dealership to schedule the appointment when the
service Mgr said it would require a over-night stay.
I questioned that and was told "its also time for the DCT Filter change".
Oil changed, DCT filter and state inspection would require 6 - 7 hours.
All said, what triggers these service reminders Mileage? Or Time?
Is it normal protocol to change the DCT Filter at 1100 miles??

Seems to me like I should save my money on the ceramic coating because there is a long list of things you can’t do if you have it. Better off PPFing your car to keep swirls off and wash your car however you like with it’s self healing properties in sunshine.

How much does it cost to PPF the front bumper? I have been thinking about getting mine done because that's where most of the paint damage will come from with bugs etc.
I did whole front end , mirror caps, side rockers and door handles just under $2000

touchless car washes use hydrofluoric acid to do the cleaning.
Check state law on color of light. Some states don’t allow blue lights because the police reserve them

The Corvette with a Great car I do have a common question in my research of Corvettes and most GM products the problem fuel management these engines or creating problems for GM ,Cannot get parts there’s companies now that offer a piece to put in your computer to deactivate this are you experiencing any problems in your Corvette from the fuel management I just can’t get pissed why would a supercar like this what I want to go from 8 to 6 cylinder from the activation it doesn’t really save anything with the Cadillac Escalade the Tahoe many vehicles They have a big time engine problems because of the system talking about buying a new vehicle with 2000 miles you’re doing an engine job already
$3k? People must have stupid money to burn. It’s totally a waste of money. Spend some of that on a good ppf product.
