- Earlier this summer i took a trip to an incredible place that is a must visit for any wildlife or photography enthusiast!
I went to pembrokshire for 3 days with the aim of visiting the island of skomer to photograph its famously friendly puffins! As well as other wildlife in the area.

And that everyone is how to be a good parent !!!!! taking an interest in your children, wonderful mother
I passed on your comment and she was chuffed to hear you think that.
I happen to agree with you of course :D. Even if she is a little too enthusiastic sometimes :D ;).
Thank you for your lovely comment :)
Great vlog buddy 👌😉👍
Cheers, glad you enjoyed it :)
I enjoyed the video. Your mom is a real trooper, and pretty handy with the video cam.
Very entertaining. You’re mums a natural. Love your relationship and the storytelling. Great puffin shots well done.
Ha, yeah she really is very entertaining 😂. Thanks for watching! 😊👍
I hope to get to Skomer island as it us the best venue for puffins in England and Wales. Love the fine art editing Matt which is my style as well !
Especially enjoyed watching the interruptions, the puffins were good too!
Just found your channel, and glad that I did. Excellent video of your trip to Wales.
I love Skomer too, although not been for a few years now. Good that you made it though, as you have some excellent images to show. I particularly like the Puffins and absolutely love that Seal shot, calling into the air with the waves crashing in the background....awesome imagery.
I do a lot of Wildlife photography too, and have decided to video my own little adventures soon with various species and subjects, you have inspired me to do that! :-)
Anyways, I have subbed you and awaiting more adventures from you.
Your an excellent photographer with a talented eye for a shot, and I wish you all the best! :-)
Wandering Wolf 2 thank you, glad you enjoyed the video. Planning more and more. The next one I do will be a trip to Bushy Park. I just have to finish editing the photos 😊
Some great shots towards the end. Not sure I could live with that sort of weather again.
Happy you got there, in the end!
Matt, I'm thinking our respective mothers are twins, just separated by a few thousand kilometers and a few decades. Good job taking your mom.
Ha, well I am not sure if two of them is a good thing or not ;). Thank you though, she is a legend to be fair. :D
Loved the folding chair! My sister who is an artist has one and I'm jealous. Sorry about the No Boats. But turned out ok. Really like your black and whites. The puffins were great.
Sadly that chair has now broken... gutted. Thank you for the kind words, glad you enjoyed the video.
Amazing puffin shots. Your mom looked like she had a great time.
Glad to see you got there in the end bud! Your mum was more keen than mine, that's for sure!
Cheers :), Hopefully I will get there again next year in better weather :D
Subscribed! Was right there with you through all the struggles mate! But worth it in the end, that shot was intense. Don't let the rain put you off though, look forward to seeing you back down this way
Catching up on your older videos. Good to see a vlog about wildlife. Where abouts did you stay?
Well, I like to think I have improved slightly :D. But I hope you are enjoying them!
I am terrible with this stuff but I think somewhere near Haverford West? That rings a bell at least :D
Great video. New to channel. Keep it up mate 😎
Daniel Webb Photography welcome dear sir, thank you for the feedback 😊
Matt Gould are you on flicker Matt...
Haha that opening with your mom is hilarious! Typical mom. Pretty sure mine would do the exact same thing.
Caleb Wilson it definitely mixed things up a bit having my rather lively mum with me 😂
Pretty sure its harbour porpoises man, anyway, lovely video!…I have to go to skomer sometimes in the future! Being a young wildlife photographer like you, im so jealous that your mum is willing to drive you all the way down to wales!
Ha, yeah skommer is a must! Its an amazing place!
Ha, she is a legend, but i drove for the record :D. I can't let her have all the praise ! :D
Really need to learn driving soon!
Don’t understand the negative comments, great vlog. Have just subscribed so keep them coming. Cheers Mark.
Thank you Mark ! Glad you liked it :)
Got a few tips about Skomer if you ever think about going back.
Thank you, thats really kind! I don't have any plans to return at the moment but I will keep that offer in mind :). Thanks for watching!
This might be a longshot since this video is old, but how did you edit the thumbnail shot?
Cheers!
Well done for sticking with it. I live near Haverfordwest and have to say you were lucky that any of your days were dry. Rain is the price we pay for the beautiful lush green countryside. You should try coming down in September/October as the Seals have pups on the beaches all around Martins Haven where you were taking pictures of the Gannets. Sometimes the weather is quite nice then :-)) Thanks for the video
Hi Elaine, firstly I have to say how jealous I am that you live in such a beautiful wildlife rich area. Secondly, I plan to do just that, but next year when the budget allows again :D. I will be sure to put up a video purely on the seals in that very bay I visited :). Thank you for the comment, I am glad you liked the video :)
Looking forward to it :-))
Those were porpoises mate (mom & calf pair), lovely video btw, subbed! :)
Thank you Jillian Greenfield. I thought so, but I wasn't 100% cheers for confirming 😊
Is that canon 500mm lens mark one or two?
The IS mark 1 :) So, technically the mark 2 500mm F4.... Confusing a little :D
I love the photo at 21:07. It's amazing. How did you get the black background? Sorry, I am a beginner.
Well, i have taken a few like this, most were using manual exposure and spot metering. This one however was done mostly with lightroom, an editing software :). And we all have to start somewhere :)
we are expecting new videos
worst thing ive ever watched
Ha, but you did watch it... :D
couldnt you be a good man and talk to me like shit? now i have to feel bad about my comment.
:(
Sadly, that is not the way of the british gentleman dear fellow! :D
