they look so cute Izzie!! the dough seemed a bit too dry, I would suggest using a spatula to cream the butter and sugar next time! instead of flattening before putting a thumbprint in, you can roll a ball of the dough and press that in first and then adjust it if you need. I've made cookies like that using a different recipe if you'd like to use it.
