Hi Andy
Thanks again for taking the time and effort to produce this and all the reviews that you upload, I totally agree that you have to hold this gun in order to really appreciate it. I actually visited my local gun shop with the intention to buy the Luger P.08, however I spotted this in the display cabinet and asked if I could have a look at it. Although I really like the Luger I ended up buying the Colt 1911. Its is indeed a very nicely made gun, my only (very small) gripe is that I wish that they had engraved the lettering and then applied the surface finish over it as per the real steel. Having said that the writing on mine is more of a dull chalky colour rather than brilliant white and its all specification based rather the often very annoying warning signs.
Again thanks for the review Andy from the Wirral UK.
Good review Andy, thanks. This looks identical to my Tanfoglio Witness 1911, which is manufactured by Taiwanese company KWC. My gun has had 1000's of BB through it over the years, and is surprisingly accurate for a BB shooter. Spare magazines can be had for around £25, which is ideal for non-stop shooting action.
I have the Swiss Arms version of the 1911 it is practically identical to this one but without all the ugly white writing on the slide. The 1911 is such a great replica, it is a classic.
I enjoyed the review Andy, thank you.
Me too bud, can’t stand the white writing.
Me three 😂 love my 1911
@@mrb4408 The prettiest version is Silver with Black grips :)
I have always loved the look of the 1911's. The smooth look of these ones are amazing without all the fancy rails and stuff, but those ones are cool also. Love your show
thanks Andy, have been hoping you test the Umarex 1911s and you’ve delivered with style as always
I well remember shooting the real thing prior to the ban. A wonderful and compact pistol.
I agree that it's a wonderful pistol, but I don't think it's accurate to call it 'compact' - the thing is 8" long and weighs 2.5lbs!
It is quite thin compared to modern double-stack pistols though, so perhaps that's what you meant.
I too remember shooting handguns in the UK before they were banned.
Not many people in the UK now who have even seen a handgun in real life, let alone shot one.
@@cedhome7945 Yeah that's true. Glad I no longer live there. I can shoot my real 1911 in my backyard.
@@thepenultimateninja5797 I owned a 1911 before they took them away. was fun to shoot and surprising easy to handle. Still one one of the best guns ever made
@@cedhome7945 40 odd airsoft RIFS and 10 airguns here. I just let my neighbours know I shoot and let them and their kids have a go. End of issues. Just don't shoot when there are helicopters about 8-)
The 1911 is my favourite 'modern' pistol... I have little hands and the slim grips suit very well. Mine is in .45ACP as here in NZ we are allowed to own the real ones. Lotsa fun. That BB gun looks like a well made thing, and great fun....
Thought after that mosque incident you had your guns taken away??
I really wish they'd make a replica of JM Browning's other creation, the Browning HP.
Im waiting for this too. Would buy it straight away
@@brianswan3559 Would that have an Airsoft?
@@Apd_6464 Absolutely I'd buy one.
The 9mm version was the first non-airgun pistol I ever fired.
@BedsitBob WE does make a 6mm airsoft HighPower, even 2 versions of it
Kwc must have made a fortune from all the different iterations of this "new" gun that have been released over the years
I'm lost how this is "new" it's an identical copy of the Swissarms/KWC unit that was most folks' first blowback.
It certainly was mine 😊
It might be the first with all the proper markings?
And I hope they are stamped or moulded not painted on.
@@kylethedalek yes I do prefer the stamped markings HATE white painted writing an markings but saying that I've never heard anybody say they like it 😅
Yep it's just an old design airsoft gbb reworked to use .177 bbs which will give you worse performance because it lacks the hop-up of it's airsoft counterpart. Are Umarex even bothering to make anything themselves anymore? All these new pistols are just cheaply made tat. I think there could be a real market for a CO2 powered pellet (not bb) pistol that shoots around 3--5ft lbs with a decently accurate rifled barrel (not a part rifled abomination like some of their revolvers....). Perhaps an updated version of the old 586 they used to make?
Pretty sure both of those are made by umarex too.
This may just be a rerelease or potentially cheapened version of those designs.
I have the Swiss Arms 1911which is completely stripable.I also bought the Tokyo Marui 1911 Mk4 Series 70.Both are very nice.I prefere the Marui as you don't have to fiddle with those Co2 cartridges.I had a bad experience with the Umarex,so i stick with TM from now on.I have the XDM and the Hi-Capa 4.3.Both are TM.All are blowback.
Umarex's own designations aside, it's actually a replica of a 1911A1, but with a flat mainspring housing instead of the arched version that was on the A1.
The obvious telltale signs are the scalloped areas on the frame behind the trigger, and the short trigger, both of which were added for the A1 spec.
Ironically, the non-blowback 1911A1 also featured in the video has a longer trigger like the original (pre-A1) 1911.
Very very nice. I like that, Andy. Well done Umarex. Good review 👍
I have the A1 model and it's good, although I would like blowback. I got as far as "BB".
Yep…me too. I don’t do BB guns
Why?
My club does not allow BB
Yup
After being pellet only for many many years .. I broke down and got a "Springfield" 1911 Mil Spec (KWC) BB pistol, it's pretty much the same as this one and to be honest, I had a sh** load of fun popping tin cans. Still not a lover of BBs but it's a very good replica of the real thing (which I've used ) that has some fun factor thrown in.
This is a 1911A1 replica , you can tell by the cutouts behind the trigger and other details. The 1911 was the service pistol for WW1.
I just made a similar comment before I saw yours. The only original 1911 feature I can see is the flat mainspring housing.
TGIF!!! Could only mean one thing..... another entertaining AAR review!
Nice looking gun but just a shame it's another BB again and not pellet!!!
Nice review, Andy, as always. The blow back version looks like the one that might follow me home some day. Ever see a Umarex Race Gun? That pistol looks like a hoot, reminds me of the IPSC gun I shot more than a couple of years ago. Naturally I can't find one on this side of the pond. Might be a good reason to take a plane ride. :)
Shot the original when we were allowed to, on a course for my practical pistol license to shoot in Europe. Many debates over stopping capacity vs magazine capacity compared to 9mm. People with Glocks in our club we used to call the Tuppaware club :)
I have my own, thanks Andy for the inspiration :)
It has some details of the m1911 as opposed to A1. Some of the A1 features were gradually introduced. I'm definitely getting one.
I want one, it looks very good!
I love the 1911 A1, but was £100 & now £250
A lot of us like the blowback model,
But there is a power loss for the blowhack type 3>
But need only short range, but can shoot indoors
Hello, and thanks for this video!! I loved the markings, but not being a non-blowback, and the frame has no recesses behind the trigger guard, like the real steel does. The main spring housing is ok. The grips are a good idea being that way... Well I will try to see one...
I have a good collection of quality rifles and pistols but never really understood the replica side of things or the fascination. I was recently down my local RFD and my mate who works there gave me a go on the Walther PDP .43. I was amazed at the realism and weight and it was just pure fun and experience. I get it now, I purchased the Walther before I left and will no doubt add some more to form a collection. Great review Andy, thanks for your effort and good luck with the project. :D
1911 replica Brownie awesome. Definitely love it ❤
Damn you Andy there goes my bank balance...... again ! Luckily it will be easier to smuggle home past the misses than another rifle . Great review again . All the best to you and the fellow shooters.
Ah yes, the best handgun to ever exist.
Glad it has an air gun replica as I thought I'd never get my hands on something that shape. 😂
Yeah. I might have to get this 😊
swissarms, kwc, and remington 1911s identical to this one have been out for a decade, though?
Posted 10 days ago!?! Woohoo finally a 2024 review!
Andy, give me the pellet version all day long, great looking pistol (stressed model), thanks for the video
I have a umarex m45 which I suspect has the same internals as this. I hope umarex have beefed them up because the plastics wore out very quickly and getting spares was a chore.
Would have loved for Umarex to make a paintball t4e version of this.
Keep asking for it, and they might just. I'd defo get one.
I prefer the worn aged look of the pellet version. Shame they don't offer that finish. The bold white letters let it down.
Then just buy the Cybergun Parkerised version with full trades. I have 2.
Nice. I fancy a 1911 now i used to have a blank firing replica years ago that fired the 8mm shells. i do think id go for the pellet version
Springfield Armory Mil-Spec has the same thing I know because I have one 😅
A replica being a classic 😆😅🤣😂
Please do a review of the best co2 pellet pistols. Thank you 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I hate the white markings. I wonder if this could be scrapped off or removed in another way ?
❗️I was in the area (Lincoln) the other day and should've stopped by.
Have you ever been to 'City Airguns' in Lincoln? I understand it can be a novel experience...
@EngineerEdLifeform: No, I'll have to pop in next time I'm in that area.
it's actually a very fun gun to own. I wonder if they has suppressor for the gun just as cosmetic.
Manufacturing cost's aren't cheap but they've built something as nice as that & can sell it for under 200 quid well done
Fun little porch plinker.
Nice copy !! But will stick with my section 7/3 1911A1 WW2 Issue ❤❤
I've got a Krownland made 1911 replica - the John Wick style hi-capa. It similarly looks and feels awesome, great detail all over and full metal. But, I call it 'Bob Marley' because it's always jamming :(
1911s are great guns but the Springfield Armory 1911 Mil-Spec is cheaper, excellent quality (has very realistic faux wooden grips) and none of the horrible large white writing along each side of the slide. Just discreet very small warning in one side. Shoots well and quite accurate.
Agreed the uramex 1911 pellet looks superb.
I have had one for years....made by Remington It is blowback and shoots BB's. It is identical to the Umarex you have just reviewed. I would imagine Umarex have got a licence to build them ...OR...Remington are making them for Umarex with the Umarex logo. This has been around for years.
or they are all made by WinGun in China and rebadged,.....
Why bb rolling out of barrel, on "6:17"? I saw that on some other review of Umarex 1911.
Why do companies insist on making a quality replica then ruining the pisol by slapping all that writing in it. looks rubbish, is there any way of removing it?
No, sorry, the 1911 and 1911 A1 both used the same 7 round magazine in .45ACP. The differences were actually quite minor around the trigger, the mainspring housing, the hammer spur and a few other minor little things.
Could have shown the pellet version gun as well, tired of seeing the BB version guns.
👍
Because there isn’t a pellet version of this gun.
@6.16 your BB rolled out of the barrel... Seen this in a few other videos about this gun as well. Might be some kind of issue Umarex should look into...
A nice replica but prefer 92fs . Good video all the same 😊
Does that colt gov 1911a1 you were comparing to in the beginning come weathered like that? I want something with that finish!
Good morning one and all
Bout the high power browning?
Good morning everybody and our host Andy , Wow i want one , a true classic to get the blood boiling ? ... Fab review ANDY thank you ... Have a fab day everybody
Thank you!
I have a question,
On the box it says
Need some of them wooden grips on the remington version
Yeah would be great, l have the Remington version, great blowback, but l would love the wooden grips.
Must be able to buy them as spares.
How do you stop the BB's from leaking out of the barrel?

Umarex have issued a product recall on their ReadyAir Compressor, Item No. 2.0048.
I’m not sure if that’s what you have in the screen left in your recording setup.
Just a heads up my dude
On first glance that mag looks the same as the luger mag ,are they inter-changeable?
the Swiss Arms tac 1911 is superb and cheaper...add G10 US marine corp special ops grips (£10) and a red dot (£25)...
Are these legal to own in Scotland for pleasure and plinking?
Wold be nice if they had used the "caterpillar " pellet system then you've got the best of both worlds
Bout time Umarex!!
Still no 1911 pellet blow back pistol 😢
Do they do a pellet version that blow back?
Can you do a review a the m16a1 bbg
It has the proper Colt markings. Another replica that will probably not be sold Inthe US
I have a Tangfilio Witness marked one of these, the extractor wore out very quickly and with no spares available it left me with an expensive paper weight.
I can't help be cynical about the way this pistol keeps popping up with different markings every couple of years.
250mm is 10” thanks.
Dear umarex, can we have everything in pellet blowback going forwards please,
Thanks
Majority of customers
The white markings and the matte black makes it a no for me sadly 😢
Can you do target pistols please ?
Should of skipped this one there all exactly the same just different skins 😅 just buy the brothers in arms 1 its a kwc comes with spare seals bottle of oil and £110
Another cracking video review. 👍🏾
Another to add to my collection 💥
I had a Real one of these when i was 16 i swapped my BMX for it ,my friends grandad brought it back from the war ,I Didt tell my mum or dad ,my dad found and ask were i got it ,he let me keep it but took the bullets out of the clip ,I sold it for 50 quid when i was 17 ,wish i kept it now a was a war relic then later on in the uk they took are guns away because of some Lunatic in Scotland
In the US, the war relics start at about US$2000 and go up quickly from there, depending on condition and manufacture.
@@brettneville2351 the one i had was very worn but really cool
@@paintitblackblack9910 I love the battle worn look, especially when it's authentic.
@@brettneville2351 yeah it was the real deal ,gutted i got rid of it i didt realise what i had
Molto bella anche se la piu potente e bella rimane la swiss arm satinata❤❤se non fosse che la umarex a messo i loghi originali e la scritta cal.45
That is a replica of a 1911A1 and not a 1911 except the mainspring housing is flat and not rounded.
Not for me but might be good for others
Thats how it goes. 🤔
Where can I buy this
Nice.
It's a shame that most CO2 Colt 45's have either added White lettering, or moulded differences from the WW2 Colt, such as the angle of the grip lines on the receiver, and extra lines in the metal.
Most people in the market for a Colt 45 simply want the WW2 version, no White painted letters, and the correct details. A perfect replica.
They do it with other guns. Glocks, Lugers, 92F etc.
Why not with the WW2 Colt?
And why no perfect replicas of the Browning Hi-Power? One of the most desired automatics, and nobody makes a perfect replica.
Year as a replica the white writing spoils it for me
Morning all
morning , how are you ?
@@simonnoble7589 fine thanks and you?
@@sergentcolon1 yes iam good thanks ... Nice day here again ... going on my 25yrds range in the garden today ..
@@simonnoble7589 quite grey here, bit of moisture in the air. It might rain.
Hey could anyone point me to where I could buy this in the USA
If not found there right now, then it might take a while to arrive. Sometimes has taken up even to a year (for some models) to be released in the US. Probably due some small changes, such as the warning prints on them and the cardboard box been changed into a plastic clamshell. Nothing really that makes much sense to me, but I've seen it happen before. As an example which I remember really well; the Umarex dual-ammo Glock 17 was out in the US well over a year later after it was out on the European market. But some do though come out much earlier. I know the Umarex blowback HK USP also got minor labeling/print changes - and a clamshell packaging when it got onto the US market.. So it may just not be found at all in the US yet.
@@brorjordas1979 thank you so much and thank god for imports
It's built by KWC which means it's identical to several branded models here in the USA.. I have the "Springfield Mil spec" version, identical except the grips are plastic not wood, the specs are so close to original that any after market 1911 grips will fit with a little modding to accommodate the co2. I like this one better as it has a blued barrel whereas the Springfield's is chromed.
@@BoggWeasel thanks but I’m a collector
@@elijahmehrkens901 It'll be interesting to see the price point on the Umarex if and when it's released over here. I also have the Barra tactical (another KWC foundation) to illustrate how the 1911 has changed and managed to stay relevant after over 100 years of use. I have a few other replicas too, it's something I've only recently started to do over the past year or so and as usual, my timing sucks as models like the Makarov, P38 and Mauser broom handle have been discontinued....😁
I have 2 Fake Replicas and Fake Replica Ammo as well. Thanks for the show.
Can you recommend a good practical pellet pistol with blowback, don't like bbs
Umerex cp99 pellet pistol , muliti shot ... would suit you
Many thanks
@@rayingles1 anytime
Out of all the guns they could've made, they decided to go with a gun that is so common and easy to find. Great work, umarex..... 😴
Doesn't look like they put a notch in the loader slot to hold the plunger, so it does not have to be held down while loading BBs.
Fun
The trouble with BB pistols is they are worthless when you try and trade them in later, shops only seem interested in pellet guns
awwwesome😊
Nothing new here, this pistol is years old, I have had the swiss arms forever and this so called new one looks identical other than the grips and branding. They are really milking it. I want that pellet one but they are mega expensive.
This is not an accurate representative of a 1911. Parts of this pistol are all wrong. The Trigger , Hammer and Grip Frame are A1 Style. The Thumb Safety is of the modern type. Reference; J.C. Harrison book on 1911/1911a1. Umarex please live up to your high standards and produce quality accurate replicas. Reviewers please thoroughly research the subject of your review.
hammer not fully depressed into battery - unlike swiss arms version...
Shame it's bb.
👍🙂
