In my childhood, vastu Shastra literally shivers me... That movie gives me nightmares for many days .... Even I wokes up in screaming randomly at nights those days.. that time I was 9 years old... Not only Vastu Shastra, but also Bhoot, Phoonk, Darna mana hai, Darna zaroori hai, 1920, Raaz, ( raaz movie kabhi dekh hi nahi paaya bachpan mein, uss ek gaane wajah se 😂) the last film that I enjoyed and gives me chills that is haunted 3D... So many nostalgic.

IMO, 1992 released Raat (directed by RGV) also should have been on this list. It was the first time such a slow burning horror film got success. Raat showed that horror movies don't always need over the top bhoot/creature with a loud music in background. Horror can be subtle, eerie and creepy.
BTW, my unpopular opinion is that Raaz is just a too much overrated film. None of the scenes scared me. The plot was needlessly raunchy and erotic (may be it was director/producer's fetish). The horror scenes were also subpar for me. Instead, 1920 (from the same production house) proved very effective with its horror scenes.
