Hi Josh and Rachael!....We ate there twice while staying at MGM in Sept. It is funny because we tried the exact meals you guys did and i agree with you both entirely. I got the Southern chicken which i thought was very good. The mac/cheese was good. My wife got the Meat loaf and we both agree it was pretty bland. We got the Chopped salad with Balsamic Vingerette dressing which was out of this world. That is the reason why we went there a second time. Also the owner was in the house so she came over and talked to us for a few minutes. My daughter loves The Jonas Brothers so she suggested we get some pictures of the boys wall gallery. We asked if she would let us get some pictures with her ...which she was more than happy to. The decor of the restaurant is very nice and puts you in a happy mood when you enter. Sorry for the long post but just wanted to give you our 2 cents. Thank for another great review. Keep them coming
I ❤Nellie’s Southern Kitchen. There Mac and cheese also there Catfish Menu is so so very Delicious. Plus there Banana Pudding is so unbelievable. There restaurant is the best place in Vegas. I really love how there restaurant is so beautiful 😍. The servers are wonderful and there hospitality is great. I cannot wait to go back in the near future.
Thanks for you honest review. For those prices, you should get a 100% experience. Meatloaf is soooooo easy to make flavorful-in many different ways. As I recall, Blueberry Hill diners in Vegas had a great meatloaf.
Oh geesh!!! I'm glad Rachael asked if the greens were salty b/c Hattie B's at Cosmo has those and they are so salty. I will try this place. Thank you!!!!
Great to see these kind of restaurants and thanks for the honest review. Too bad it all wasn't a hit. I love collard greens, they're usually made with ham hocks or turkey let but I have seen th made with bacon. The banana cream pudding looked really good.
Thanks Coco! Hard to go wrong with the fried apps and banana pudding. Decent drink menu and fun setting. Maybe its a better start, then eat dinner elsewhere kind of spot.
I would give this place a try for the appetizers. They looked delicious! My hubby & I love watching you guys, you keep it REAL😊 We did like you guys and separated our Mlife accounts to see how it goes.
Thanks for the review, guys! Sorry to see that the meatloaf was just okay. One of my favs is actually from the Cheesecake Factory of all places. lol Now you see what happens since having Willie Mae's, they set the bar to dang high on fried chicken.
Hmmm, Looks like they just made the plates at the Grand Buffet and brought them over to Nellie's to serve. I think we would pass on that place, thanks for trying it so we don't have to
Fried okra is great cooked very well, good chicken sizes pieces ,the meat loaf looked over cooked and they tried to cover it up with gravy ,the chicken plate and the Mac cheese, the green beans looked great, the bread pudding looked delicious.great job, where is the place’s.
Curious about the drunken collards. In SC, on New Year’s Day we cook collards, black eyed pas and cornbread traditionally. That is my all time favorite meal and I could eat it at least weekly.
I ate there shortly after it opened in June. The biscuits were not great for $9 though the jam was incredible. I had the chicken dinner with Mac and cheese, which was well cooked but overall everything was under seasoned. My friend had chicken and waffles, which he said was okay but under seasoned. The restaurant is really cool looking, but that wall with the picture blocks views of the performer. It’s a strange setup; too loud to have a conversation, but if you can’t enjoy the entertainment, then it’s strange. I don’t recall there being banana pudding the last time, as I definitely would have had that. Overall I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re really craving Southern food and staying on the South Strip.
Haha, the rest was decent but that Meatloaf kinda ruined everything for us. Would definitely do the cheese fries and okra again, decent beers and banana pudding too, fried chicken was fine but not memorable
What’s your favorite Southern Dish? And favorite place in Vegas that serves it?
Sweet potato fries 🍟 at Burger King😂🤣

Thanks for the tips!
Nothing better then an honest review from J&R. Always keeping it real 👍🏼
Thank you
Stumbled upon this place by accident, had the basket of biscuits and shrimp and grits. Both were very good, will go again
Love when that happens! Thanks for sharing!
Oh geesh!!! I'm glad Rachael asked if the greens were salty b/c Hattie B's at Cosmo has those and they are so salty. I will try this place. Thank you!!!!
We have enjoyed getting better at asking questions while the other one eats, so glad it helps.

I can totally get behind that. Apps and drinks. Cool area to check out
Those fries and okra! Yum!
They do know how to fry things up right in the south

Thanks guys! Willie Maes is both a blessing and a curse for sure. Best we have ever had and nothing can compare anymore
Bummer on the meatloaf. I'll check out the rest of the menu and possibly make my way there. Thanks 😊
Good call!
Hmmm, Looks like they just made the plates at the Grand Buffet and brought them over to Nellie's to serve. I think we would pass on that place, thanks for trying it so we don't have to
😂 thanks Steve
🤣😂🤣
Big portions and decent prices. Just don’t get the meatloaf 😂 thanks guys
What's wrong with the Meatloaf? Haha. I just started the video.
Bleh…
The thunder thigh chicken looked good. Mindy loves okra especially since we live in Okrahoma.
😂 🤣 😂

Thanks Brian!
It’s located in the restaurant row area of MGM Grand, back by Craftsteak & International Smoke!
Thanks again for watching!!

We are by no means experts but they were tender, moist and flavorful
Hey Guys doing some day drinking at Southpoint try the steak and eggs after midnight 🤣😂
Seems to be a good plan if you make it to midnight after day drinking 😂
good job once again can't wait until the next one
Thank you Tracy!
Nice and thick... love me some gravy😂
Was this one a Josh or a Rachael
@@JoshRachael Rachael lol
We need you at MGM DETROIT like right now.
Sounds like fun, haven’t been there

Nailed it!
I like fried okra
😋
Curious why you didn't like the Meat Loaf? What was wrong with it?
Basically no flavor at all and the texture seems totally off. All around not good from us
Rachael doesn’t like banana pudding?
She does like banana pudding!
Thanks for watching!
@@JoshRachael sharing is caring.
Not attractive meatloaf. Chicken good though
The French fries are actually what I remember most
looks cheap and awful
Not a favorite of ours for sure
Oh man, I was wondering why the comments said not to have the Meatloaf, bummer. 🫠
Haha, the rest was decent but that Meatloaf kinda ruined everything for us. Would definitely do the cheese fries and okra again, decent beers and banana pudding too, fried chicken was fine but not memorable
@@JoshRachael I'd go for the banana pudding. Haha
