Sorry if this has already been answered somewhere else but I've had a burning question. When you buy Monstercat albums on itunes, you get money; the artists, Mike, and itunes all get money. BUT WHAT ABOUT spotify? The music is free to download and is basically the same thing as the itunes album. I feel like to be able to download this music without any contributions to the artists is just like pirating songs on obscure sites on the internet. Why do you have your tracks on this site and where do the artists get paid in the whole process? BTW, I am not trying to bash Spotify users in any way, it just seems wrong to not pay anything to people who expect money for music that they worked hard on. Thank you for taking time to read this.
spotify has paid for all of the items that it redistributes, just at a lower price. every download a song gets, a small fraction of money is transferred from spotify to the producer. and if you have a spotify membership, the money they make that way goes to procure more music. so you aren't robbing the artists of thier money.
