2.2hdi 136hp aka dw12 is designed from scratch and with 16valves, while dw10 TD90/ATD110 is an evolution of the dw8 which is itself an evolution of the xud, hense 8 valves in its first generations. Both of those direct injection engines are euro3 or 4 and lack dpf in their earlier generation making them amongst the most reliable direction injection engine built in with a turbo.
