I think the reason people underrate Yorozu so badly is because of her position in the story. I believe if she was introduced in a more natural way rather than being the one to take over Tsumiki's body people wouldn't take her as lightly. But alot of people can't accept her strength because of their own personal biases and hate. Personally i didn't like her character at all but i have her at like 6 or 7 in my top 10.
I wouldn’t even say it’s her position that makes people underestimate her. It’s more so her lack of screen time similar to Kashimo in his Amber Beast Form. I’m sure the anime will make Yorozu stand out more, as for Kashimo unless his fight gets extended he’ll most likely stay the same.
4:00 yoruzu incarnated into a modern day scientist is literally welt yang from the honkai series,he has the exact same ability as yoruzu but he was eventually able to create shields that could block imaginary attacks and recreate things like nukes,entire unarmed armies and divine keys (basically special grade cursed tools) that could create black holes if she had gotten an incarnated vessel with modern day scientific knowledge (pertaining to physics) she probably would've had the tools to beat sukuna and gojo by herself
It would've been highly unlikely for her to do so even with more knowledge from the modern era. Her technique is explained have inefficient CE consumption hence her reliance on creating constructs that were supposedly efficient to maintain and control (this is kinda weird here, I dont think gege understood that the various mechanisms that allow insects to perform seemingly unnatural feats were mostly reliant on how small they are. E.g. carapace or exoskeletons that are human sized would be astronomically heavy and unwieldy). Additionally she relies on constructs like the liquid metal that can be reused again and in different configurations, so making complex armaments with expendable payloads like missiles and nukes (which likely wont work on sukuna) is likely to her disadvantage. She likely cant create massively complex and autonomous structures like armies, machines and special phenomena like cursed tools without severe drawbacks (its implied that yorozu creating kamutoke is what actually killed her in the end via binding vow plus mai also had a similar experience with the soul-splitting katana). Also her ability only pertains to creating materials with certain properties NOT reality warping like welt yang. So making black holes which is a phenomena via an astronomical amount of condensed mass would likely be either too difficult to achieve/maintain or simply not possible without dying like mentioned above. The sphere was likely her best bet and she was already bleeding from her nose, something that we now know means the CT capabilities of the user is being stressed to the max Regarding her combatants, they still have multiple ways of beating her. Domain amplification and RCT is likely to either neutralize her constructs (the latter has been shown to do so via round deer) or lower its effectiveness. There's also DE from Sukuna and Gojo which would place her in an infinitely worse scenario, all her constructs would be instantly demolished by shrine (since it uses cleave on CE objects and not dismantle) and theres no guarantee hollow wicker basket would even be sustainable in a highly polished domain (she likely cant win a DE battle against either 2 anyway). So in general she likely did her best against sukuna, she mightve been more creative with a more knowledgeable vessel but it would still be a nearly impossible fight against sukuna especially the moment Mahoraga fully adapts to her technique

It might be a hot take, but i think perfect sphere is genuinely more powerful than hollow purple. Contrary to popular belief hollow purple isn't a black hole, you can survive it at range with enough reinforcement like sukuna did. Reinforcement against the sphere probably wouldn't do anything.
Hollow purple is immaginary mass which should be more lethal than perfect sphere if gege actually finished high-school,you can probably use DA to negate the ct itself and make it just a strong ce blast.
This is just my take but I think Ryu and Yorozu are on similar enough levels to where the winner is up for debate, but were dealt with differently because of Sukuna's objective. Sukuna wanted to take his new 10 shadows for a test run against Yorozu and Ryu picked a bad time to confront Sukuna since Sukuna was on his way to reign in his host body, so Sukuna saw him as more as a fly to be swatted away until Ryu tanked dismantle.
It wasn’t really about a test run it was making sure to kill megumi’s sister with his own “hands” but yeah they are similar, I wouldn’t put Ryu above her personally because he cleared a whole squad equal to Uro’s group and Uro alone was pretty close to him, but they are comparable especially if you just consider stats and not abilities

There no way you saying Dhruv who got one shot before Yuta even used his full manifested Rika is on the same level as Uro and Ryu the reason he was there was because he was a great counter matchup. So don’t use Sendai as a point of relatively it was just counter matchups
@CertainlyCynical It's impossible to tell since Sukuna used the world cutting slash which has literally one shot anybody it hits, and Yorozu's fight was set up from the very beginning to show off the difference between Megumi's 10S vs Sukuna's 10S and he was purposefully dragging out the fight so adaptation could occur in order to crush Megumi's soul
You're power scaling while ignoring the narrative in these videos far too much. Saying shes stronger than ryu because sukuna killed ryu blah blah blah, completely ignored what sukuna says and what happened. Sukuna LITERALLY couldn't even take him out with his normal slashes. He needed to blitz and catch him off guard with dismantle, by touching him directly and IGNORING durability. Ryu was insanely strong and requireddddd sukuna finish the fight quickly. He was treating him as a THREAT at the time. It's different circumstances against an opponent with different win conditions. That doesn't make Ryu weaker. At all. Jjk doesn't power scale like dragon ball. It's not that simple. And raw base stats are inconsistent at best in the series. Everyone's vulnerable, everyone is trying to outsmart the other.

Sukuna told Ryu he was sorry and nuked him because he wanted to get to Yorozu. If it was someone on the level of Kashimo Sukuna would've stayed and fought since he wouldn't pass up the opportunity to fight someone strong. Not everyone is the same level of vulnerable because CE reinforcement makes people have different durabilities on top of RCT regen. Even without limitless Gojo could eat shots from a big portion of the roster ALL day just because of his reinforcement + RCT. Yorozu is very much stronger than Ryu. She killed a whole squad of people on the level of Uro, she would punk the fuck out of him. Yorozu is legitimately strong enough to be a mid-diff fight for people on the level of Yuta since she was fast enough to blitz 15F Sukuna in her bug armor. JJK Stat-checking definitely exists especially because Maki and fucking Itadori exist and their whole gimmick is having good physical stats.
