I loved the Total Team Control, usually when you asked a teammate to work with you, they were a few cars back. You could take over their car, move them up behind you and they could then work together. It was so much fun.
I feel like the EA games just kept getting more and more arcadey. AI got worse, car handling got dumbed down, and swap car glitched a ton. So to me it's just a good game, like an 8/10.

06 and 07 were good. The only problems with 06 were the double points glitch, the KHI/Chance 2 glitches in career and the new engine making it seem like you aren’t going fast. But all these problems were fixed in 07, and it’s an overall better game than 06. 07 seemed a little bit too easy compared to 06 though. Everything after 07 unraveled pretty quickly for EA.
This was my first nascar game, funny thing is I went backwards every year, went from 07 to 06, 06 to 05 and on even playing nascar 99, I bought a ps3 in 2016 and Nascar 15 was ok. then in 2018 I got a ps4, Heat evolution was sad, but I could still play it, I think Heat 4 was a good game played it a ton, My top 3 nascar games are 1. Dirt to Daytona 2. Thunder 2003 3. Heat 4, Nascar igntion will be the last console game I will buy, I have kept my ps2 and went to iracing
It was indeed the best Nascar game on console i ever played (i said on console, nothing will ever beat Nascar Racing 2003 on PC IMO) The swap car function was really nice as well as the team orders. I had a lot of fun with this one!
In nascar 05 you got skill points for leading, passing cars, and share drafting. You lost points for contact with cars,scraping or hitting the wall and dirty racing.
@@ShawnCustoms well hey if you had the Wal-Mart version of NASCAR 06 on fight to the top and say your name is Wal-Mart money it gives you 10 million dollars and can race in any series if you want to and buy a team.
I've started hearing this game brought up recently in the conversation with 05 & 06 as that second best tier of nascar games, and it baffles me. I remember the game launching and everyone, myself included, being disappointed that the only real new feature after years of massive innovations was motion blur of cars as you passed them
What i miss in these old nascar games are just two things (real cars and real drivers) and sponsors. I watched Richmond today and got to watch the full race just as a tradition for me that grew up watching nascar, but i say that it has been a real torture stay 3 plus hours in front of my tv watching midgets like Larson or Chastain driving cars that came straight from a toy store, wall riding and watching mistakes that even an alzheimer dude would not commit it. Next one will be at bristol, pretty sure i will be packing something alcoholic to help me out to watch the whole thing.

It was actually the 1st time skill points while driving was featured, as it was not in 06 nor 05.

My biggest gripe is only being able to choose 100s for custom cars
Especially with Carl Edwards not being in the game, numbers 4, 13, 15, 21, 99 would have all looked great on a custom car.
