totally agree on the self guided demo rides, 1000% better that way. We don’t have a demo day in our area til like Oct so I’ll ‘patiently’ wait… lol
honestly, you are really inspire me to save money for my first motorcycle, i always love it but people around me still say "what, you want a motorcycle ?!" and the parents still dont want to agree. I am 16 and on this holiday I work instead of having fun because I want to make my dreams come true and people like you remind me of how much I love motorcycles and that my effort is worth it ❤

Cameras don't really do it justice. The Black Hills and Western South Dakota & Western North Dakota are beautiful, but schhhh! Don't tell anyone lest it be overrun.

Looks like a nice bike, I like the blue paint. Close bird strike, I actually had a bird fly into my chest when I had my old bike without a faring. Glad I had my riding jacket on that day.
Pretty nice features on that bike! I'm a bit too short to ride a a lot of ADV bikes which is a bummer because they look like SO much fun! I still can't get over how beautiful it is out there.
If you have a chance, try a Tiger 900 Gt low…it’s lowered from the factory. I can totally flatfoot that thing (31” inseam).
Stability control with IMu standard. Lean abs and lean TC is great on that bike. Electronic suspension is a magic carpet ride. I love the tiger!

Those UFOs ( unexpected flying objects ) always make the ride more exciting , especialy with no windshield ! Never hit a bird before , but ran into a swarm of huge grasshoppers once , really put a damper on the brunch run . Not lookin for a new bike but I still enjoy watchin the demo rides and seeing whats new out there . Great to see you havin a good time , glad you got to do Sturgis this year 👍👍
I’m looking at the 2022 Triumph 900GT Low. It’s wayyyy easier to sit on. I never thought I could have an adventure bike until they made the Low version plus the seat can be adjusted even lower
fyi, i like when you have the wind\engine noise in your videos. It's like we're really there on the ride with you (but get to also sip our coffee). My 2022 rebell 1100 is almost always in custom\user mode around town so i don't "accidentally" maxwrist at the lights!
Thanks for the ride Jess. Good thing you took it back to the dealer as it looked like there was a display malfunction there for a minute when the speedometer was blurred out. That could be dangerous when riding. 🙂

That bike looks awesome!, and I'm a Harley Road Glide rider. There are so many great bikes to choose from these days, If I started researching it could go on for months and I would never pick! It's not just the bikes though, the dealership support is a bigger deal than most people think.
Triumph and BMW have great TFT screens. Jumping from a Harley to a regular naked bike, the view is like comparing a SUV view vs car view. I can see the traffic forever.
Triumph is a fine motorcycle brand. Really well built, with great features and very smooth. If I could have two bikes, I would definitely get one.
Love the cockpit view on that bike. Looks like a bike you can ride forever. Had a similar close call with a bird, except it was a turkey!🦃

I was on the Spearfish Canyon ride and I had one of those birds swoop down in front of my RGS and sure enough I ran into it!! Luckily no damage!

Was torn between this and BMW, which is what Triumph is gunning for with this bike so it's working. I bought the GS last month but did really enjoy the Tiger demo.
What was the determining factors that made you pick the BMW? I've never owned a BMW but have owned several Triumphs.

Heck I'm 5'11" and this bike's seat height is barely short enough for me. Props Jess.
The only bike I own I can flat foot is my Road King with my 30" inseam. As long as I can get the balls of my feet down (toes plus a bit more so you can move the bike around), I'm ok with it. I've got used to only having that much. Any less and backing out of a driveway gets REAL sketchy.
BTW, one thing that can help with your reach is changing out the seat to one a little narrower (if possible), Also, I can touch ground on all my bikes and only 1 of them has a seat heat under 30". How's that? As long as you can get your leg over (ok, I cheat and use the foot peg as a step, which will bend cheap kickstands... you hear me BMW?) the bike will sink down on its suspension. Ideally, you want about a 30% drop if you were able to sit and balance perfectly with no feet on the ground. So for an ADV bike, let's say it's got 9" of travel, it would drop down 3". Setting your suspension to get that proper amount of sag requires adjusting the preload and possibly changing the springs out. But once you get a suspension sprung right and adjusted for you, the bike will ride SO much better.
By today's bloated standards for ADV bikes, 540lbs for a 1200cc+ bike is pretty much typical. IMO, too damn heavy. Pick that sucker up a couple of times when you're out doing a BDR and you'll wish it was a lot lighter. Of course, crash bars, etc do add a fair amount of weight.
I don't like the tinted fluid reservoirs. Makes it hard to tell if your fluid needs changing.
I suspect the GoPro Bluetooth connectivity would allow you to control the camera. There's a huge screen, maybe you can get a viewfinder to help aim your camera? That would be nice. I hate having to pull out my iphone before I ride and aim my cameras. It's be nice to just power them up and nudge them into the right position on the fly right before I'm ready to record.
Dual front disks is IMO a requirement on any bike 500cc+
When I get my license, I can't wait to ride around on other bikes as well. And sheesh that was a close call with the bird. XD

First big group ride I took a couple weeks ago, I caught a bird right in the visor. Enough to make you about jump off the bike.

i wouldlove a tiger but honestly one its way out of my price range two thats alot of bike for the few trails i could ride it on here in pennsylvania and lastly ive heard they are bloddy murder to work on by yourself as special tools are needed and some jobs require disassembling the bike. so yes they are beautiful but maybe its better for someone with a greay job that lives in the western npart of the country.. makes more sense to just get a cheap dirt bike for me but its more nbut jewelry

there is a woman that rides ADV bikes and she is shorter than you are so you could ride that other one. i get that you feel better with both feet touching though. that lady is fun to watch though. i think Doodle did a vid with her. i love that the bike has cruise control and a adjustable windscreen. i wish more smaller cc bikes had those things. good vid
Yep. Well aware of her bad assery. This was just a test ride. The last thing i wanted to do was be extra uncomfortable on a bike i don’t own for no reason lol
