Spaces elevators work by balancing the forces between the anchor, in this case Trantor Station in geosynchronous orbit, and the tether latched to the ground. The tether is constantly at exactly balanced tension, movement, gravity etc. that balance keeps it aloft and steady so long as the tether remains intact….or this happens. Any real world space elevator would have a tether either designed to disintegrate if broken or be seeded with explosives internally designed to ensure it broke apart.
Yeah! I felt very Game Of thrones, Especially with all the different factions and all the different main characters we have! It also doesn't help that its a big political drama lol
Also what reminds me of GoT and separates itself from all the star wars shows recently, is that they actually shoot on locations or physical sets for many of the scenes.
I feel like the recent starwars show have been quite one note wot basically staying in one location. With Foundation, there's multiple factions, in multiple unique locations, it keeps it interesting and makes the world they built bigger and better imo
Space elevators for earth cannot currently be built with well studied and practically available material. The forces involved would require specialized carbon nanotube materials which don’t exist yet. You could, however, use modern science and engineering to build one on a planet with Mars’ gravity.
what gets me to believe they are almost impossible to build in general is that it would be very hard to have is stay in place with the anchor point. Not that its impossible, it would just be extremally difficult, I don't know how you could have suck a big structure stay essentially in a satellite position staying in place. idk if that makes sense lol
@@AGuyNamedChayse it’s not actually stationary. The orbital anchor orbits just like anything else, it’s orbital speed is just synchronized with the rotation speed of the planet itself. Assuming you were to do this you’d build the anchor first and a assemble the tether downward, attaching it to the ground last. Some designs don’t even bother with a ground attachment and it just hangs there. All of this is engineering not quite possible as yet, but theoretically the idea is sound, but as you say very difficult.
Star Wars actually borrowed a lot of ideas and influence from Isaac Asimov's Foundation books which released in 1942-1966. Dune also took a lot of inspiration from them, love them all tho, all great stories.
I think it's not till the 7th or 8th episode that I kinda realize it's based on a novel, and got that idea Atleast about Dune, mainly cuz I'm reading the Dune series and realize a lot of SciFi has been influenced by it lol I'm very much loving the show so far!
Oh, when I'm not recording, I'm full binge mode, able to pump out seasons in a day or so, but recording seems to drain me faster, I think it has to do woth the lights, and needing to keep commenting lol iv watched up to season 1 epsidpe 8, it's all on my patron
@@AGuyNamedChayse oh thats great, take your time, Im worried since I cant find almost any reaction to this show, I was worried apple was being too harsh on the copyright and you decided to leave it to patreon only. Regarding your question, I would absolutely watch the whole thing at once. BUT, I think its better to do episodes, because people (including myself) watch reactions to fill the gaps between episodes/seasons, so its better if I can watch the reactions over several weeks instead of it being a 1 sitting binge. Also, if you get copyrighted, there might be a episode or two missing from your channel, not the whole season

I thought I was the only one thinking this show was like Game of Thrones in how it makes me theorise and makes me interested with varying plotlines

@@AGuyNamedChayse so you are not uploading it?
I will be, it just takes time lol I edit my own videos and have multiple going on at a time¡
Let me ask you, would you prefer to see like a 20ish min of each episode as an upload or 1 like 1.5hr long video of the entire season in one video?
