Everyone is all "swap this, swap that" just do whatever ya'll want. Just know there is a TON of Honda swaps that have full support, from H series, B series, K series, J series, and even enhance D series. Hasport/VTEC Academy is a great place to check what can go where and maybe how to find it. Enjoy!
get the budget brembos on the budget Civic. This is a bolt (with one small adjustment) brake setup for any 5th/6th Gen civic and DC chassis Integra running 5lug. Brembo caliper: 2010-2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Track front calipers. Rotors: Nissan Rogue w/3rd row seat i hope this is useful for you guys
I like the Wilwood setup better, and its only $650 or so new. I was surprised how long the stock ITR brakes were good for though, fine until i hit over 250hp.
Yo, I just looked at those brakes. Thats good for maybe bling, but those are havy af for a civic. You don't need all that. Can you lock up all 4 wheels? You have enough brakes. Bigger ones will just make everything heavier, the last thging you want in a honda. edit: Might be good for a big car like a CRV with upgraded wheels. Looks like it's 5x114, so wouldn't fit civic wheels anyway. Only the integra type-r and CRV had that bolt pattern until the awful 2001+ civic era, the rest, like the one in the video, are 4x100.
on any build, a great way to mark the feet of a cage before hole sawing the floorboard is to spray paint around the tube. It makes a perfect mark without messing up a sharpie!
I really hope you guys keep this up! I'm a huge rally guy and a Civic guy. If you guys want to do actual rally let me know, I'd love to see more big names in US Rally.
This is the absolute funniest thing I’ve ever seen a bunch of good old boys playing with things they don’t get priceless. Just remember you don’t put backer juice in the oil.
what's wrong with them learning something new and taking us along for the journey.........I mean they have to be bored with the same old Camaro and Mustang projects.
@@aaronbuck7265 I do know in rally to be "legal" you must obtain a fwd license before you can compete. I've wanted to enter for a few years but can't just get the awd license. You have to go through stages.
Did you actually look at the rule book for the series you want to race in? Your cage isn't even close to being in compliance in either ARA or NASA, meaning you won't be able to get a logbook. This means you won't get to enter a real stage rally with the car without significant cage modification. All this means you are stuck in rally cross, where the cage is just unnecessary weight. The next point is that adding a turbo puts you in Open2WD, where you are competing with pro built Fiesta R2's and BRZ's. All your work will be to race for not last. It's still fun, but gets old after a while. The take away here is to READ THE RULE BOOK before you start your build. Cut out the cage, gut the car to make it as light as possible, and thrash it in Modified Front in rally cross. The car will be pretty competitive and you'll have lots of fun.
Maybe I wasn't paying attention why did you have to drill the hole through the floor? Did you go underneath and weld around the hole to the plate? Seems like you could have just welded the plate without the holes.
Always loved the idea of a low budget rally style commuter car that could play on some gravel country roads. All the kids wanted a poser Fast & Furious fart can, cheap spoiler, Auto Zone aluminum gas & brake pedal cringe Honda mobile instead.
Should have bent some plates 90° to put under the cage so you can weld to the thicker inner rocker panels cause flat plates on those thin floorboards ain't enough if you roll that thing at 90+ mph
Hey guys I really enjoy all of your videos and I keep watching in case you come across with the issues that I'm dealing with. I recently put a 383 stroker in my "88" Jimmy. And I'm still running the stock throttle body on it. I'd love to know what I could put on it to help it get more performance out of it. It seems like it just doesn't want to give me more of the horsepower that it should have. Thanks you guys for the videos that you share with me.
you could probably put a 800cfm on it ... they did do a engine tune where they stepped through the different sizes of carbs for some type of engine probably a 350 i forget and you can go over some and its not a problem but you don't want to be under or you lose power.. you could even go with a 1000cfm and its overkill but its not going to cause as many problems as if you went with a 650 which is too small... the deal is the carb is acting like a restrictor plate and once you go beyond what it needs then it just doesn't use that extra cfm... I would guess you probably could do with a new intake too... now what you eventually will get to is using a holly EFI electronic fuel injection which will tune its self to your engine and then you get optimized fuel and air mixture... they have a lot of dyno shows where they show the difference between a carb and then adding the EFI ... it comes with its own computer so you are good there.. thing is all of this costs money.. so maybe you skip the carb go right to the EFI but its up to you... it will mean some changes and cash.
BTW that was a torque mount that was behind the ac pump ;) / eg ek platform only has three actual motor mount rear t bracket and two side post style mounts :)
I understand why y'all are just boosting the d series, but hopefully in the future you can do a k swap or even j swap on it. So much easier to make power and much more robust.
I've seen the "single jingles" pass 500 quite often. it's more about keeping boost levels consistent, afr a lil rich, and keeping intake temps low. E85 seals the deal. The killer is detonation (aka pre ignition) once the engine is hot. Sure it doesn't run forever, but it's a race car.
my little brothers ebay turbo d16y8 on 10psi makes 220whp and cost less to build than a k-swap. Why pay more money for same power? Very common for vitara builds to make over 400whp with the sohc and honestly that is plenty for a street car and very cheap to do. Saves you from having to spend extra money for an engine swap and you still get a 10 second car.
No love for the single cam?? You can get plenty out of a SOHC d series... I'm just worried as to how they'll do it.... B series is not the do all of end all.
I have issues with your cage construction. Was hoping you didn't make the typical mistakes and while you somewhat avoided the most common one you still made several I see over and over again.
if you're having wood splitting problem using sheetroot sheetrock type screws you might just want to take a hammer and tap the point on that sheetrock screw to make it blunt like your nose and then it'll maul its way through the wood instead of slice will not split into the wood at the end or split it to the end and you don't have to drill a pilot hole only a uninformed person would do that
Jokes on yall, they’re building 3 Honda Civics with Spoon Engines
Yup....I saw Hector!
Hector is.
And a motec exhaust
I think a Gallo 12 is best turbo for a skyline fellow tuners.
Let’s not forget the motec exhaust systems

Chances are this is already planned out or even complete by the time the episode is even posted. Comments/suggestions are pointless here...

Yay! Boosted D! Would be dope if they went AWD haha. It is a "rally" build after all right?
100 percent. Throw a crv trans on behind it, and see how she goes.
@Jack Russelle Lewis not when built right 🤷♂️
The CRV trans is a 4wd not awd trans, not good for rally.
what i like about powernation they always power wash there build
Wow that guy is a magician. When he lowers the roll cage to finish welding it lol
Put a y8 head or z6 on that y7 love the d series favorite platform glad you're keeping the single jingle they don't get enough love 💪
Thats because they suck

You should do a Honda CRX or Mazda Rx-7 Rebuild :D Bonus points if you throw in a turbski. especially a turbski on a rotary.
I miss working on Hondas, but I had two stolen/stripped, so I acclimated to Mazda.
Be sure to have plenty of ventilation when working with dry ice!
My god the metric system is so much easier to calculate with 😭
6 and 7 8ths 😂😂

Debatable

Loved and still miss my little boosted D
Using the D16a6 instead of at a minimum swapping in a D16Y8? Are you guys insane? That thing would sing with a turbo B16 or a LSVtec.
Really wish they'd at least do a vitara build and send it
HASPORT makes. A V6 kit that is a Direct bolt in. It uses any Honda or Acura V6 drop right it
You need custom axles, and to do the wiring iirc. but it's not much work for a radical swap.
Maybe I wasn't paying attention why did you have to drill the hole through the floor? Did you go underneath and weld around the hole to the plate? Seems like you could have just welded the plate without the holes.
I hope you have a Civic wagon AWD transmission and rear diff to swap into it.
Now it's time for turbo upgrade ❤️
Awsome
You are welcome
if they make more cars of this type they will get more views, because they are cars sold worldwide not only in the US
holy smokes, what's with the hate on the d series? it may be suck but hating it gotta be some personal issues.
Miss my EK9. Hondas are like Legos. Mix and match parts for quick and easy horse power.
I can see the future. This ek hatch will be k swapped.. Maybe not on this channel and maybe not soon but it will. Mark my words
More more!!! 😁😁😁🙌🙌🙌🙌👍👍

Should have bent some plates 90° to put under the cage so you can weld to the thicker inner rocker panels cause flat plates on those thin floorboards ain't enough if you roll that thing at 90+ mph
They’ll be fine even if they turbo that d16 it’ll take forever before they can go 90+mph

I just finished the first one then this popped up posted 31 minutes ago
That wood probably cost more than truck sized jackstands.
whoever thought of the dry ice trick needs to be bought a slice of pizza
The suspension needs tuning. Also Id super charge the unit
Why dont you put h beams and pistons in the block, then swap a d16y8 vtec head ?
It is a Y8...
Love the civic content!! It's so much faster and easier to drop the entire drive train out the bottom...
Really should replace that engine with a modern Honda motor from a scrap yard. You get so many benefits over the 90s tech.
just curious what type of mig and tig welders you use.
Add a ecu pop tune
dope
You should just drop a si motor in it.

go with a single plane with injector bungs(and injectors obviously),a big ass throttle body and run it all with a holley efi rig...
On the cheap, junkyard vortec heads, dual plane, HEI distributor, 4bbl carb, and headers. Easy 300.
Try a fuel injection kit you might be able to pull some more power and efficiency out of it
Welding without sleeves, and not using post flow=AMATEUR!
come on!!
Should of k swapped it and awd it would of been a better show like a real rally car
Lsv that beast then boost it. That d16 is gonna disappoint horribly , love the idea tho
