Some of us are drive our cars daily and are weekend track warriors so bucket seat are too much of a hassle to get in and out of plus in a street car reclining the seat is necessary. Recaro speed reclining seats are what I’ll end up getting.
I don’t believe you were the target audience for this video. And once you gain enough pace on track, any non bucket race seat is not good enough to improve lap time. The Racetech rep says that. It’s been my experience.
Not 100% sure what you're point is there Ronald, you can 100% fit whatever seat you like, and that will come with a compromise for either safety or convivence. If you get it horribly wrong, probably both too haha Running a reclining seat isn't a legal requirement for most people, so it isn't actually necessary, it's a choice. No judgement or anything here, just don't wrap the choices as anything other than what they are =) - Taz.
I ended up going with a Tillett B5 seat for my Mazda RX7. It's a small interior and other seats were too tall and had too wide of shoulder bolsters. For a stock-ish car, with stock shifters you're going to strain your elbow and shoulder fighting against those wide shoulder bolsters.
You're not wrong, size is a consideration for the chassis you are dealing with. Those racing classic Mini's must really struggle 😅 That said, there are a range of sizes when it comes to the seats, some people are running the RT1000's in MX5's without any trouble shifting etc, although there is a 4000 series model that is a little smaller and would fit better. Note, I don't sell these seats, just passing on some info. Ergonomics are important though and you should set your car up correctly, noting many people run their seats much further back than they should which actually limits their pedal engagement and feel. Hard part is you don't know you have this issue until you take the time to check it out! - Taz. www.hpacademy.com/blog/3-things-wrong-with-your-car-and-sim-ergonomics/?
@@hpa101 I couldn't agree more! Older cars have the disadvantage that a lot of them only have tilt adjustment in the steering wheel, or not at all. That limits what one can do when trying to get more head clearance to fit a helmet while maintaining other ergonomics and still being able to see out the car as well. And the options can be limited when talking about mixed use cars where one may not wish to remove the steering wheel or other "race car" mods. And the unfortunate reality is you sometimes have to make compromises. 👍
I need a good seat for my sim racing rig the one that came with it sucks, I’m gonna be sitting in this thing for 6 hours at a time sometimes doing 24 hour races
Yes it can be hard to find the perfect seat, however, don't overlook creating a mould as you might never find something 'perfect' off the shelf. The kits are cheaper than a new seat too - Taz. www.hpacademy.com/blog/the-perfect-racing-seat-precision-driver-control-tech-nugget/?
Probably more a little shock, it makes sense when you look at the math but off the cuff those numbers are higher than most would guess at the local pub quiz - Taz.
I don't have that sorry. I had a quick look but couldn't find it off the cuff but if you fire them a message on Facebook or email etc they should be able to supply you with something to satisfy your needs: www.racetech.co.nz/shop/information/contact You can also watch some of the content out there on HANS vs no HANS to see how drivers (and co-pilots for that matter) heads really are along for the ride in an accident if that's just want you're interested in too. You can image his head going to the side with and without a bolster instead to visulise what is being discussed in our interview: ua-cam.com/video/g40YatgE_CE/v-deo.html - Taz.
It depends on the model of seat. We don't sell them and there are international resellers, but here is a link you can use to find pricing info: www.racetech.co.nz/shop/ - Taz.

Is there a link to the testing videos ?

None of this fake bride stuff🤣 value you life people
Its funny, trying to find them at the moment (for a sim rig) is impossible. So people are still using them. Scary.
I hate my life
