This may be a stupid question but what is better with ss frets beside the obvious?

1. Steel frets are much harder than nickel frets, so they last the life of a guitar, practically.
2. Because steel frets are so much harder, special luthier tools and techniques are required to work with them, and so many luthiers do not do work on steel frets.
3. A PLEK machine is a luthier tool that can handle steel frets, so if you locate a PLEK machine, you have located a luthier who can at least level, crown, and polish steel frets.
