Once I went Launchbox I've never looked back. New features and bug fixes every single week. Direct communication with the developer and ability to easy track requested features and report bugs. A gem of a frontend that just keeps getting better and better :)
1st comment on your channel......Simple, and plain. You're, so freakin' awesome for helping dudes like me. Been a casual EMU user for a.....well.....we'll just say '05, but got a little more serious in '11. Now, I'm just like........you're awesome Austin. Thank the Tube!!
The depth, time and detail you put into all these videos is to be commended. I don't know many people that make the conscious effort to consider everyone in their audience and present it all in such a fascinating no nonsense way. Many good things ahead for you Austin. You keep "pushing it to the limit" as you say ;D
Started watching your videos yesterday to setup my PS1 and PS2 emulators, there's definitely no lack of information in any of your videos. The only thing I had an issue with when setting up anything using your guides was that ePSXe doesn't select an option for CPU overclocking and will crash upon launching a game unless you manually select x1 speed. Thanks for your guides man, subbed.
+Simply Austin Dear God I can't wait to watch this one mate. but yet again you release a video when I'm busy at work. it's gonna kill me waiting all day to watch this lol
LaunchBox does do it all for you - minus downloading the files. Using RocketLauncher as the "additional" or extra front end is an optional addition requiring some effort and understanding. IT ISN'T NEEDED - just adds some (really) nice features. When you get to the part about adding emulators where Austin shows adding RocketLauncher, you'd just choose the emulator you want to use. Even easier,if you just add the folder of ROMs - say Sega Genesis like Austin used as an example - you tell it that these are Sega Genesis games and LaunchBox will tel you what the recommended default emulator is, give you a link to download it, and configure it for you. All you have to do is click the hyperlink to the recommended emulator, download and extract/install the emulator it pointed you to, and tell LaunchBox where you extracted the emulator to. No configuring - it's done by Launchbox. In the time it took to type that, you could have MAME, Sega Genesis, SNES, and PS2 already set up in LaunchBox. :)
+Simply Austin so much tidier than having it all individually set up. I prefer to have all the fade and bezels as it makes it feel more uniform thanks again. I loved hypersonic but launchbox has come on a treat. much flashier as I van put it into my kodi setup
Thanks for putting this together. I'm sure you already figured that a long-term problem with more than one front end is media duplication (400+GB in my case). There is a way to solve this by someone with better scripting skills than me, and that is with a recursive mklink (or junction) script: you can pull out the media folder from Hyperspin (or RL pause) and create a link to it form within the HS (or RL) folder. Once you have that (which btw, you can do with emulators and system roms too) you have de-coupled the media from HS or RL. HS has a system centric media folder structure while RL and LB has a media centric one (images, video, music, manuals, etc) so a script could be run to go through the list of systems, and create links in the LB media folders to the respective folders in the Media folder you extracted out of HS. This should be a) FAST!, b) bandwidth and disk space efficient, c) easy to re-run if you add systems to HS or LB, c) able to "merge" HS and Pause media...
As Always GREAT VIDEO! one piece of disclaimer, when you try to emulate games like SNES Super mario kart you need to have the dsp1b.program.roms and the dsp1b.data.rom available on the Systems folder if you're using retroarch, otherwise games using the DSP chip don't work
Hey, question for you Austin. Would you be interested in doing a tutorial about getting rocketlauncher and launchbox set up from the start without previous front end setups? I'm looking to use this setup on my arcade cabinet and I don't have a previous rocketlauncher setup. Thanks!
Oh also very excited to see your video on the dolphin google cardboard. I have a headset lying about from me playing a few of my pc games on it.. If this is something you find you like its a area that's not very well coverd and as with most lead by mostly false information.. Head tracking was my biggest issue when trying to make my pc games run well on card board.
I hey mate! Long time no see ;) How you been? Yeah seen it mate, was told it would have been out by now. But added a note in description for those lost until it does update hehehee
+Simply Austin just helping out. ps. im around, i have to say your making life easy catching up on the news. but did you have to show your face on the 50.000k vid! haha, my dreams are crushed, haha
I've got a question about this conversion. As you know, I have a very customized setup via hyperspin; non-standard naming schemes and box-art etc. Because of this, there's no way that the auto-download for the art assets would work for me. (Honestly I wouldn't want it to, I have to micro-manage) Are you aware of a method for just pointing LaunchBox to the media folder for HyperSpin? Also, I really like the way you have your frontend directories setup, with RL as a seperate frontend tool... I might have to redesign around that. Right now RL sits INSIDE the Hyperspin folder on my setup haha.
Hey Austin. A couple of things you might wish to share about this combo (Launchbox and Rocketlauncher) Some systems do not "fall" into Launchbox properly (Sega Model 2 in particular), and have to be installed rom by rom if you want the graphix, ect. Also, Launchbox names some of the system in such a way that Rocketlauncher fails to see then (NEC Turbographx, Model 2, a few others...yeah, I'm installing all of my systems on it). If you rename them after the fact, you lose all the graphic tiles, descriptions, ect (because it creates new folders for media rather than renaming the originals), so be aware. Also, RocketLauncher seems to require resetting the active system before switching between the front-ends -- or you can use multiple Rocketlauncher installs. That said, Launchbox is very nice if you want a Windows-esque environment for your games. Its better for my older kids (who appreciate the descriptions and screen shots) -- the younger ones still prefer Hyperspin. All in all, a great front-end. Please, please keep the videos coming. Yours are the best emulation related videos on the web -- my opinion.
Hey great video again Austin just wanted to ask, as i have mine set up in a custom cab i built, i am thinking of adding launchbox so i have a choice of hyperspin and this, but does that mean i have to have 2 seperate lots of media, as i already have all my artwork and videos setup for hyperspin, or is there a way they can SHARE media or else i'm gonna have to add another HD.... Cheers
You should have no worries with this mate. Basically in the new build they have updated how you link RL to LB to make it easier for everyone. I expect it to get even easier than this TBH, but its an amazing start!
+Simply Austin yah I have used the new build and it's so easy now. I meant I would look at the video or future videos for settings I didn't know about.
Hi there, thank you for the tutorial. Maybe I missed it but if not. It should be pointed out that: “ in order to use the existing “systems” from hyperspin, for example PC Games. Within Launchbox you should go to tools, and select manage platforms. The name of the platform, should match the exact name of your system. I had a specific system for pinball games. So I added a platform with as root (Computers *not mandatory) with the name pinball games. And added my pinball game there. ( make sure within launchbox the imported game is part of this platform ) What the launchbox plugin will do. It will add the system to rocketlauncher for the “launchbox” frontend. ( it will also search for the matching foldername within rocketlauncher/system/pinball games . And update the plugins setting file with some launchbox config in addition to the hyperspin configuration that’s already there). Because the system and configuration “pinball games” already existed. It will just use the existing configuration and all is done. Then within launchbox I exited the game. By clicking on it and press edit. Went to the emulation tab. And selected use an emulator. And then select the rocket launcher emulator. It will now execute via rocketlauncher. ( my only question to you is. Can this be done on a platform level. I don’t want to edit every game and tell it to use the emulator. I want every game within the platform to use it. ( but for now this will do ))
very nice i like this channel although i'm not big on very old games but i like ps1 and ps2 games so thanks for helping me out with them :) btw do you know of any working ps3 emulator
thanks mate... yeah scen has advances a fair bit. Now emulating Wii, GameCube, 360, PS3 and Wii U and more! Check mt TOP 5 Next Gen emulators for more info. Its dated, but you can see whats going on
Hi Austin! You said Launchbox 6.7? I've got the version 6.5 at this moment. Should I update it before using Rocketlauncher? Btw nice tutorial. I've using indépendent emulators for each platform. Could be nice if this solution runs more faster than my actual emulators. Nice job! Cheers from Luxembourg.
Excellent guide as always. I have a question though. If you already have another front end set up (such as hyperspin) and have all the media already downloaded for that, is there any way to have LaunchBox use that media instead of redownloading it all over again. In my case I used HyperSync to get all my media and everything looks great in HyperSpin. When I set up LaunchBox using your guide and I import my roms for the different systems, it looks like LaunchBox is downloading all the same media that I have already downloaded through HyperSync. For those of us with a lot of systems and games and not a lot of hard drive space, downloading the media twice isn't an option. If RocketLauncher is going to be the central program which will launch all of our games, is there a way to just have all the media also in the RocketLauncher directory and just point every other FrontEnd to that? That way it would truely be just a one time setup and just point everything else to RocketLauncher. That may be something that's above you but since you seem to be "the voice" for everything Rocketlaucher and Frontend related then maybe this is something you can bring up to the "powers that be" that have control over such things. Thank you.
Hi! thank you for your videos I already subscribe ,Can I ask you something? I have an arcade running hyperspin ( I dont even have it open it yet) My question is... When I turn on my arcade it starts as a Pc but it after 2 sec showing the taskbar after that the hyper spin start running right away.... does launchbox can do the same? keep in mind that i dont want to have keyboard /mouseconnected to my arcade for any reason. thanks simply Austin. Best regards from spain.
Austin. Will this video help in adding Rocketlauncher to my current LaunchBox/ BigBox setup? Never used rocketlauncher. I have bigBox 3tb wolfanoz setup. Will it affect it? Thank you for any help you may have.
What would you say are the key advantages of using rocketlauncher instead of just configuring the emulators directly in launchbox? Is this mainly of interest to users that where using rocketlauncher before or does it have some benefits for other users as well? (I'll check out your other RL vids later for more info but would appreciate any key points of interest ;) )
Main one really is... Some systems will only run in RL due to the advanced features. More functions for launching, closing games Information held for each launch, gametime, games, etc etc each time you play In game features such as Bezels around screens that dont fit, Pause games, show maps, instructions, art, music, media etc etc mate. Its too much to name. If you want an advanced setup its a must. If you just want to have a luagh on some games casually its prob better to keep to LB running standard :)
Cool. Thanks for your answer. Don't think I'm going to spend the time to set it up right now, but bezels etc certainly sounds interesting. Going to put it on my "check out later list"
Hi cool vid, I followed it and everything went as it did in the vid. RL and LB communicate with each other. But a piece seems missing. I'm trying to play House of the dead which can be played with Sega Model 2 emulator. So I've got RL talking to LB and I imported this game into LB, selected Arcade platform and RL as the emulator. When I launch the game from LB it says that no emulator is set in RL for HotD, which I guess makes sense. So that's the missing piece. Where does my Model 2 emulator enter into the fray? Or did I miss this somehow in the vid? Thanks.
I just want a good and easy frontend for the 5th and 6th console generations! Whats the best for that? I need something that doesn't require an academic degree to figure out.
I would say it is a matter of taste. IMO Launchbox is better especially since it is updated DAILY, unlike HyperSpin. I recommend you try them both yourself.
Long time hyperspin user here. It's great but your work is never done. It relies a lot on themes and there's no such thing as a concise theme set. You also need a bunch of 3rd party utilities such as rocketlauncher, hypersearch, and startupscript. Launhbox is easier for first times and doesn't rely on themes. Every system has the same look but displays box art and game info beautifully. It also downloads most of your artwork for you. Launchbox however still has a few issues with some systems like Amiga and Taito and Sega Model 2 and 3 but that should be fixed soon. I moved over to Launchbox and love it. Make sure you buy the premium to get BigBox because that's what makes it look really good.
hey austin i have a problem when ever i try to sign up in hyper spin website it tells me that the admin will gave me a link to activate the account in 10 min it's been 3 hours now and nothing happened
What I find mostly interesting is settings in RL it's easy to set up but there's so many options in RL. I still don't know how to get RL to show release year when not coming from a Hyperspin setup
Is there a way to have Rocketlauncher bring over your default systems to the newly created launchbox profile? i clicked make default, and make active and every time it turns the system list to blank with no add system icons or anything.
Do you have a video on just setting up RocketLauncher. It seems like all the videos I find are for configuring Rocketlauncher with another system and the focus being on the other system. I am looking for a video on setting up RocketLauncher as a stand alone. I know allot of people came from Hyperspin so they know the basics but I came from Mala, Attract-mode, EmulationStation so RocketLauncher by iteself seems appealing but want to understand just it. Please and Thank you! PS great work as always.
ALSO,, ANONTHER QUESTION. DOES THE LAUNCHBOX DATABASE METADATA INCLUDE THE MOVIES FROM EMU MOVIES? IM JUST WONDERING? OR WOULD I STILL NEED TO GET A EMUMOVIES ACCOUNT TO GET THE EXTRA BOXES, BOX ART AND MOVIES???
usernamemonopoly Yeah true. But, Emumovies also has alot of custom box art that you cant find in most places. and the sync option is amazing. I will probably get the month subscription get everything I need and then cancel. No Biggie
I've been using a setup with Hyperspin/HyperHQ/Rocketlauncher and I want to switch over to LaunchBox. Will this still work in 2022? My Hyperspin stopped booting up after a recent Windows update.
Is their no way to use the ARTWORK already added to HYPERSPIN as just adding Sega Genisis the LauchBox folder swelled fronm 500mb to 2.3gb and thats without VIDEOS which I already have in HYPERSPIN ???? just seems a waste of space ;)
That's exactly what I thought this tutorial was about. It just seems pointless now that I'm most of the way through it and he's only telling me what I already know how to do.
In Launchbox under the Tools option is Manage Platforms. Choose whatever platform your working on and select Edit. Once the platform specific window opens select the folder tab at the top. In there is every image and video folder. Just point it to the existing folder that has your artwork or videos. As long as the rom files have the same name as your images/videos you should be good to go.
followed this tutorial exactly but no images were downloaded. I've got the ROMS imported but no box art appears though, this was for Sega 32X though, others systems seem to show. I'm always getting default_emilator not found each time I launch a game, is there something I've missed?
What does RocketLauncher actual add to LaunchBox though???. I use RetroArch for all my emulators and i dont see Rocktlauncher adding anything extra over just using Launchbox on its own???
It adds a loading screen when loading games which hides all emulator startup and rom loading processes, it gives you support for bezels and shaders so you don't get black bars when keeping aspect ration, it has a pause menu so you can pause the game and access a panel with a save/load state manager, view manuals, maps, cheat codes and walkthroughs from within the game, easy cd switching for games with multiple discs and a lot more of other cool things. It's a must have.
If I've never used rocket launcher before does it have any advantages over just setting up the individual emulators and directly launching them via launchbox?
if you just want to keep tings simple and basic, the normal way is just fine. However some systems and some advanced options can only be done if you use RL. Its all down to what you want to run and how you want to run them mate :)
+Simply Austin Brilliant, never figured out best way to import amiga games in launchbox, so maybe I'll try to setup rocket launcher for amiga instead, and launch that from launchbox , cheers :)
for example lets say im search for batman(mame) i find the game but i need also the media file (mp4) to play in background of hyperspin so my question where can i find the media filles?
... (A bit more) RL pause adds manuals and music, for example... The script would not create folders not supported by HS or RL, allowing LB to downloaded them as the user sees fit, or, links could still be created by the script so this new media is still placed in the central media folder for other FEs to use... If no motivated souls get to it, I may try to give this a shot in a few weeks.
What if your rocket launcher setup is new ? How do you set up the emulator ? My Launchbox is fully setup with all emulators and everything. But I have a fresh copy of rocket launcher. How do we setup the emulators like in Launchbox??
ooohhh errrr :( watching your guide connecting rocket launcher to launchbox. i never updated to rocket launcher still using hyperlaunch hq v1.1.13 :( cant find any way to update? all links are broken?? should i just start over?
Why does RL have separate emulator setups for each front end? The emulators don't change- just the front end does. Considering how long it takes to set them all up, it should only have to be done once. Why does LB have you set up a platform and then immediately download for 4+ hours? If you want to set up 32 platforms, you have to do them one by one, letting it download between each one. If you're letting it download overnight, this could take 32 days. Why not set up all 32 in 15 mins and then let it download overnight?
The setups do save mate. So once a system is enabled, if it's already been setup it knows and uses the configuration, I show this in the video. As for the full transfer, I know this is underway. They are configuring it so it can take a full setup from one front end and import it in. Just takes time mate. The debs of this are not familiar with RL so they are playing catchup:)
Buy the premium version if you haven't done so already so you have Big Box, then download any of the following themes, extract them to your launchbox themes folder and select the theme in Big Box Options. forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/1124-unified-ultrawide/ forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/1080-unified/ forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/1295-unified-redux/ forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/1506-unified-refried/
I migrated over from hyperspin but for some reason the details I was getting in my fade screens for hyperspin such as game ratings, year, etc..are missing from my fade screens in Launchbox. Does anyone know what I can do to bring those details into my fade screens for Launchbox?
I figured it out, I changed my default command line parameters to: -f "%launchboxorbigboxexepath%" -p RocketLauncherUI -s "%platform%" -r What defaults when setting up rocketlauncher in launchbox is: -f "%launchboxorbigboxexepath%" -p "LaunchBox" -s "%platform%" -r The change made my fade screens work and now populates the ratings, year, and other info.
sorry mate, they must not have updated their stable build yet. If you go into options you can enable BETA Updates... tick that for now until they do :D
Excellent timing, Austin! Just put out the official 6.7 release! :)
Pro trick: watch movies at Flixzone. I've been using it for watching loads of movies these days.
@Christopher Franklin definitely, I've been using flixzone} for months myself :D
Once I went Launchbox I've never looked back. New features and bug fixes every single week. Direct communication with the developer and ability to easy track requested features and report bugs. A gem of a frontend that just keeps getting better and better :)
So tru mate. I wish other FEs and Devs would take a leaf out the same book :)
Thanks! Hyperspin was pretty much done -- so now I get a new toy to tinker with. Keep the videos coming, they are most appreciated!

hahaha... I been there myself mate :D Damn slave drivers dont understand about GAMES!!! hehehe
Great video Austin. Yet another weapon in the LaunchBox arsenal, might give this a go at the weekend. Cheers mate

AMAZING! I LOVE LAUNCHBOX SO MUCH! I WILL DEFINITELY HAVE TO LOOK INTO ROCKET LAUNCHER WITH LAUNCHBOX.GREAT VIDEO MAN. AS ALWAYS!!!

Simply Austin simply the best tutorials 👌
heheh thanks mate :D

I'm sorry Mr. Einstein there is a new Genius in town and his name is Simply Austin.
Thanks for the video Dude, great job.
Heheheh thank you mate :D Just trying to help out :D
just what i was waiting for ! Thanks.
No problem matey... most of the hard work goes to all the devs involved to make this happen :D
Austin, It's me. Great vid, buddy. I hardly comment but LB is on version 6.6. You need to upgrade to the beta to be able to select RL as an Emu in LB.
Hehe yeah mate... had to let the cat out of the bag at some point ;) So much going on right now it's hard to keep up hehe
I've been waiting for this!

Been waiting for this thanks! Will you do a kodi with rocketlauncher in the future?
yes mate :D
This is great! I had to add LaunchBox.XML to LaunchBox install location root folder to be able to launch a game.
I will working with launchbox this weekend it looks easier than the hyperspin and rocketlauncher combo.
Question: Is there a way to import your systems and settings from Hyperspin to Launchbox through RocketLauncher?Love the videos, keep them coming!
Yah been waiting for this one. I have it set mostly but I expect this to have some details I don't know about.

good work austin! where did you get your wallpaper from? pretty swanky
Hehe thanks mate! I made it for the video... I wanted something Launchboxy hehe
haha u flash git! aghhhhhh man
Great vid.! Keep"em coming
thanks as always mate
Nice I was waiting for it.. I have discovered mgalaxy a week ago and it looks pretty good, will you do a video about how it works ?
yes mate, trying to get at least a review out for every FE at the moment. Nice choice BTW
Hi. Can we use other front ends like batocera, emustation, retrobat, etc etc? Thanks. 😎
If I have never used rocketlauncher, shall I assume I will not want to us e it for anything? I have only ever used launchbox as a front end.

( but for now this will do ))
very nice i like this channel although i'm not big on very old games but i like ps1 and ps2 games so thanks for helping me out with them :)
btw do you know of any working ps3 emulator
thanks mate... yeah scen has advances a fair bit. Now emulating Wii, GameCube, 360, PS3 and Wii U and more! Check mt TOP 5 Next Gen emulators for more info. Its dated, but you can see whats going on
ok thanks for replying :D
no worries mate :)
Thanks matey :) Yes, you may need to tick the BETA option until the push the latest build out. Looks like I am too fast for them hehehe.
+Simply Austin Well done. I will try out and will let you know how good this RL is. :-)
What theme were you using that was displayed on the video?
Is there any way to get a pack of roms so u don't have to download each one seperately
Check out my "where to find games" video... its old but still current. For cart systems, just google "NoIntro Fullset roms download NAME OF SYSTEM"
+Simply Austin thanks
no worries mate
very good mat
Thank you.
thanks this will a big help
Always happy to help mate. Good luck with it :D
thanks for this vidéo ! very interesting !
Yo Austin! Has the automatic migration tool been released yet?
I played more with it. Its not bad if you bring all your roms over with no media. Then just go to tools and update all of the media at once.
Hi! thank you for your videos I already subscribe ,Can I ask you something?
I have an arcade running hyperspin ( I dont even have it open it yet)
My question is...
Did this ever get released the program that can get any front end running?
has the new import from rocket launcher come out as mentioned at the end?
Any chance you could do a video tutorial showing how to take a hyperspin setup using rocketlauncher to the attract mode front end
Thank you Austin!!! :D
thank you mate :D
Did that tool ever come out to take the game DB's from HS RL to LB RS?
More functions for launching, closing games
Information held for each launch, gametime, games, etc etc each time you play
In game features such as Bezels around screens that dont fit, Pause games, show maps, instructions, art, music, media
etc etc mate.
Thanks.
how make it work like this in your video ?? my list view on free launchbox is only titles....how change it to logo emulators ?
@SimplyAustin is the PPSSPP a front end? i dont see it on my list
It's more of an emulator mate... but it does have a nice GUI :)
Ah ok, thank you. and I agree it sure does have a nice UI
Can I setup rocketlauncher and launchbox to run as portable Apps on a USB disk?
hi i refreshed my os and now rlauncher ui wont open can you help me please
Hi Austin can you make a video on alternative emulatoe mapping for hyperspin or rocket launcher
how do you mean mate? As in using Emualtors not in lists?
I just might switch after failing to setup the hyperspin startup script. my joypads are important to me and hyperspin doesn't like them.
I just want a good and easy frontend for the 5th and 6th console generations! Whats the best for that? I need something that doesn't require an academic degree to figure out.
hyperspin vs launchbox is it a matter of taste or is one system better than the other? just trying to figure out what system to use. thanks
Do you have to have hyperspin installed and setup to use RL w/ LB/BB?
hey austin i have a problem when ever i try to sign up in hyper spin website it tells me that the admin will gave me a link to activate the account in 10 min
it's been 3 hours now and nothing happened
heheh can you write a ticket on the site (top right corner)
Simply Austin thanks mate
No Biggie
Dude. Tobad you didnt do this before.
Any update on this ?
what if you want to use just joysticks after its setup.
Hi, I am trying to understand how JoytoKey changes profiles with certain games. Any videos that can help?
I've been using a setup with Hyperspin/HyperHQ/Rocketlauncher and I want to switch over to LaunchBox. Will this still work in 2022? My Hyperspin stopped booting up after a recent Windows update.
Is their no way to use the ARTWORK already added to HYPERSPIN as just adding Sega Genisis the LauchBox folder swelled fronm 500mb to 2.3gb and thats without VIDEOS which I already have in HYPERSPIN ???? just seems a waste of space ;)
did you ever work this out?
That's exactly what I thought this tutorial was about. It just seems pointless now that I'm most of the way through it and he's only telling me what I already know how to do.
In Launchbox under the Tools option is Manage Platforms. Choose whatever platform your working on and select Edit. Once the platform specific window opens select the folder tab at the top. In there is every image and video folder. Just point it to the existing folder that has your artwork or videos. As long as the rom files have the same name as your images/videos you should be good to go.
Thank you very much!.
@@racinbf thanks alot for that helped me loads .
followed this tutorial exactly but no images were downloaded. I've got the ROMS imported but no box art appears though, this was for Sega 32X though, others systems seem to show.
I'm always getting default_emilator not found each time I launch a game, is there something I've missed?
can launchbox be made portable?
rocketlaucher or retroarch? what is the best case to use in cd games emulators like pc-engine cd, sega saturn and others with cd games?
i use individual emulators for systems that use cd's
Great Tutorial
MEGA SYNC SHIT
Would love to see some epsxe related stuff in future videos, make it happen :)
+Konno thanks for the info
If I've never used rocket launcher before does it have any advantages over just setting up the individual emulators and directly launching them via launchbox?
if you just want to keep tings simple and basic, the normal way is just fine. However some systems and some advanced options can only be done if you use RL. Its all down to what you want to run and how you want to run them mate :)
+Simply Austin Brilliant, never figured out best way to import amiga games in launchbox, so maybe I'll try to setup rocket launcher for amiga instead, and launch that from launchbox , cheers :)
yes, you can actually use my HyperSPin tutorial for that using the files and RL setup. But obviously configure it to launch through LB
Now im no expert..... but you may have RocketLuncher spelt wrong in the title ;)
hahaha yeah!!! good eyes mate... my terrible typing :D Thanks mate!
wondering where to find media for hyperspin games
how do you mean mate?
for example lets say im search for batman(mame) i find the game but i need also the media file (mp4) to play in background of hyperspin so my question where can i find the media filles?
Emumovies is the most popular mate
thank you :)
This worked for me for all except mame. And I cant figure out why. Please help
Hey Austin, whenever I play a game on Hyperspin, it takes like 14 seconds to load. I don't know what's wrong. I disabled my anti-virus but no luck..
Are you using rocketlauncher? Must be something in your setup.
Konno Yes I am.. I have everything configured.. I run it on RocketLauncher, and it works just fine.. Only when it's HyperSpin, it is slow
As a test if you have bezels enabled disable them. Also turn off all logging and troubleshooting options
Simply Austin Bezels have always been disabled, so no luck there. I do not know how to disable logging and troubleshooting options though..
Tab in RL with the notepad on... in there
ooohhh errrr :( watching your guide connecting rocket launcher to launchbox. i never updated to rocket launcher still using hyperlaunch hq v1.1.13 :( cant find any way to update? all links are broken?? should i just start over?
Ive got the latest version but mine doesnt have "rocket Launcher" in the manage emulators tab... so thats me out straight away
Keep watching the video. He mentions how to add RocketLauncher there.
Thanks david Yep ive clocked it, have you managed to connect to the database yet though or emumovies ?
Yes. I have already been using LaunchBox/BigBox for a few months.
is there a website where I can download all hyperspin mame game themes all at once
HyperSpin mate? Sure they now have packs to download?
Where can I find the packs thx
not sure mate, I not been on there for a while. Guessing the Downloads section? Maybe some in the Forums too
Thx mate
no worries :D
hi mate, i don't have rocket launcher in the add emulator list. what do i do?!
you may have to update... even to BETA if they havnt pushed out their latest update (6.7+)
thanks for the reply mate! i got it working now :) btw loving the videos keep it up!
no worries mate... glad you got it sorted :D
Welcome Back to Earth.....Damn Alien's abducting Good People LoL
Great Work Man.
Any news of that all RL systems-in-one app master Austin? Would be sweet as pie! :D
how make it like the hyperspin shows the games ??
Buy the premium version if you haven't done so already so you have Big Box, then download any of the following themes, extract them to your launchbox themes folder and select the theme in Big Box Options.
forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/1124-unified-ultrawide/
forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/1080-unified/
forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/1295-unified-redux/
forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/1506-unified-refried/
Looks good but I prefer hyperspin ... My opinion dude , still as a quick starter it's cool
All down to the user themselves and what they like :D
just downloaded the RoketLauncher.zip is password protected now? the one on mediafire as also the version from Mega C ??
for a compilation wheel map a whole bunch of
different games from different systems on one wheel
ahhhh... now I get ya! Yeah, that may be something really interesting. Hardest part is making a god XML for it :D Nice idea mate!
Hi Austin yes like all mario games on one wheel from different systems and different emulators
I migrated over from hyperspin but for some reason the details I was getting in my fade screens for hyperspin such as game ratings, year, etc..are missing from my fade screens in Launchbox. Does anyone know what I can do to bring those details into my fade screens for Launchbox?
I figured it out, I changed my default command line parameters to:
-f "%launchboxorbigboxexepath%" -p RocketLauncherUI -s "%platform%" -r
What defaults when setting up rocketlauncher in launchbox is:
-f "%launchboxorbigboxexepath%" -p "LaunchBox" -s "%platform%" -r
The change made my fade screens work and now populates the ratings, year, and other info.
That won't work for most folks unless they have a LOT more set up through RocketLauncher.
austin help me rocketlauncher modules not ınstallation
How do i download the version 6.7 beta 4?
sorry mate, they must not have updated their stable build yet. If you go into options you can enable BETA Updates... tick that for now until they do :D
