As good as Spider-Verse? Not for me. But I can say it's the best Transformers movie (and I love the newest live action ones the most). The 86 movie will always be the most iconic of the bunch but I think this is the best one for the story, plus it's always something I've wanted to see in a movie since I watched Transformers Prime earlier this year and heard the retelling (same composer as this movie and he even used a song from it in the film).

Optimus was amazing to me back then and I remember loving his care for humans which made him my favorite character before later sequels ruined him completely for me. But all that being said I feel 2007 still holds up and is a great movie.
What i love most in this movie is the fact that the writers treated the already existing lore with respect, and used to build their own world/story from it. They took several lore elements/storya arcs, themes form diffenrent continuities, and built into the movie. Like Megatron's D-16 low caste miner origins came from the IDW comics. The cogless bots, unable to transform during the Quintesson's rule was taken from thee G1c series, just as the Quintessons themselves. TF One's Sentinel was inspired by his TFA counterprt. Starscream's backstory took inspiration from his aligned continuity one. XD

I was so happy to attend an early screening last week. Genuinely still obsessed especially as such a huge TF fan. Just the way they handled delivering the lore, the way they handled the characters, the brotherly bond slowly crumbling apart, down to the more political social cast system aspect they weren’t even afraid to shine away from, it’s all so well done. Like it’s not only just a great entry for newcomers, but also just a great transformers story. Oh how I love this and TMNT mutant mayhem exist.
I went to a Fathom screening of The Transformers: The Movie in 2018 that had a featurette for Bumblebee preceding it. It convinced me to see Bumblebee and unlocked my investment in the franchise. So to get to an early screening of Transformers One felt right. And it was a fantastic movie. It moved so briskly too
What D-16/Megatron did to Sentinel Prime is brutal by tearing up his body into pieces but to be honest he definately got what he deserved anyway since Sentinel Prime is the main antagonist of this movie.
I've been a fan of this franchise for most of my life, and I am so glad that, in its 40th anniversary, it gets a movie this good to add to its roster ^_^
I tried as best as i could going into this movie blind (seen the first teaser only) and when Starscream spoke and it was old timer how you doin fellow kids voice it was THE BEST THING IVE SEEN IN A VERY LONG TIME…pretty much sums up the movie
This movie did Optimus Prime justice, in Micheal Bay movies Optimus was always portrayed as a stoic warrior who will always do what needs to be done but they never show his empathic side in those movies. Transformers One handles both aspects of Optimus Prime's character in a balanced way.
I've seen this movie today with my friend. As a transformers fan since birth, I absolutely loved it. The explaining in this movie is so good that my friend, who didn't know anything about transformers francise (except for the fact that movies made by Michael Bay) and he said to me, that now he wanna to dig deeper into francise and lore. Absolute cinema, 11/10
We had 2 out of 8 Transformers movies from Paramount Pictures that were well received 2018's "Bumblebee" and 2024's "Transformers One". In my opinion alone I cannot decide on which one of those two is the best.
This is The Best Movie I've Ever Seen Just Like Cloudy Chance Of Meatballs Movies, Spider-Verse, Puss in Boots 2, and TMNT Mutant Mayhem Movie Type Good.
I just watched this movie yesterday and I loved it! Been watching and reading a lot of Transformers stuff to prepare for this movie to see what inspo they took. And its very apparent they did their research/people who worked on this movie are already fans of the franchise. They even got the composer who did the wcore for Transformers Prime.
I'd like your review of the movie but not of Orion. There was no call at all for what D-16 did to his true friend. A friend who went to bat for him and was building him up for greatness. Orion truly cared for D-16.
well, I have to think making him a miner like Megatron in this version helps make them have more in common, and therefor sell their strong bond of friendship (and make their breakup all the more tragic). Since in earlier depictions Optimus and Megatron became friends over their agreement that Cybertron needed to change for the better, but even that early on they had disagreements about how to go about it, with Megatron wanting to overthrow the system and Optimus wanting to reform it peacefully
I have pros and cons with this whole thing. Pros: obviously transformers one is goat af, the ending made me tear up a little bit. Good animation, optimus and megatron friendship was great, bumblebee can be a bit annoying but it aint a big deal since he can also take some situations seriously, everything about this movie, epic. Cons: yeah, i'm not scared to say this but i also like the 3 bayformers movies, and because of that people will probably bring me down and harrass me to oblivion for liking these movies. Its like bumblebee all over again, great movie btw, but my god the harassment that the bayformer fans recieved were awful at the time.
It dealt with mature themes like corruption, death, enslavement, worker solidarity, greed, betrayal and more. And there was a lot of...killing. Yes, many Cybertronians...died. This movie was marketed towards children but MADE for adults.

I dunno, I think the Main Villain was done swimmingly well. And what do you mean he didn't have a lot to make you hate him? Spoilers: Not only did Sentinel Prime like to Optimus and Megatron, throwing them into the incinerator job after promising them upward mobility (A dick move). He shows this isn't his first time lying, betraying and then butchering the other Primes, and as Alpha Trion poses it, Took away the miner bots' chances to become real transformers.
