Very interesting. Like natural ears, but am not able to get used to the curl tails. Dewclaws and tails are removed at 2 days old, thank you. Used to be a vet tech, and had many injuries with dew claws and thin tails getting broken. Eventually, they were removed. Better to have it done at 2 days old.
These Dobermanns are tanks. Better than the fine boned US show Dobes, But I think these have gone beyond the nimble agile working breed they were meant to be. I'd like to see these doing schutzhund. Don't like to see that stupid American show stacking going on. IMHO.
But in all fairness they're a hell of alot better looking then American dobermans. I saw a couple at a show a few months ago and they look like miniature pinchers I even had to ask to make sure!!

They look more like European Dobermans. They are typically larger. This one looks very bulky and muscular compared to the leaner yet muscular American Doberman.

Take whatever breeders tell you with a very big grain of salt. They will always tell you their bloodlines are the best. Health testing is very well accepted in the US. Dobies are genetically predisposed to health issues. Actually the US Doberman Pinscher Club of America is doing a great job of genetic/DNA testing with the breed and they have a pretty good website. I've questioned a few show breeders in the US, so am toast with the show crowd in the US, but the DPCA is a very good and progressive breed club in the US. I'd gravitate more towards working dog clubs rather then just conformation clubs. That's how it is in the US. Best of luck. Dobermanns are the best.
I love the structure of the Europeans dobies but they are more aggressive because of their sturdy breed but america dobies do have a dif structure but they are family dobbies and they are agressive to strangers but overall I love dobbies

Those dogs aren't even that big. Are you sure your feeding your dog enough. I have a Doberman as well and I take him for runs for an hour a day and feed him a good amount afterwards. He is pretty ripped.

European Doberman are good looking the style of showing needs a great deal of development to present the dogs better not that they should do it like AKC shows but it needs a lot to be desired to make a dog look good in the way they do it does not represent the dog to look it's best
Euro Dobermans are not allowed in AKC nor are American in Europe dog shows. They have different standards. American Doberman is a watered down version.
what are you talking about? The "standard" in the US is pathetic now, with dogs looking like greyhounds. They are too small and skinny. The breed, yes, was meant to be athletic, but they were also meant to be intimidating in size.
***** I agree with the square build, but some of the dogs in the video maintained this, while still allowing for a more powerful build, without crippling performance. Dog show standards are a bit silly anyway, and any dog going away from that standard should still be considered apart of the breed.
