The 2022 US Open runs from August 23 - September 11 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 142nd time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Daniil Medvedev is the men’s singles reigning champion and Emma Raducanu is the women’s singles reigning champion. Last year, both players claimed their first Grand Slam title, with 18-year-old Raducanu becoming the first-ever qualifier to achieve the feat. This year’s tournament is set to feature a range of greats and future stars looking to add to their records and cement their place in tennis history. love the slow motion recording of garcia hitting a forehand with her semi western grip at 7:50 and the way she's changing it to continental grip immediately and stylish one handed after her swing to prepare for the upcoming volley.... of course shes's not even thinking about it, it just happens naturally, but it looks cool - reminds me of spinning a revolver in between shots.
I only wish I could just switch grip without thinking during play 🙃

I play at a high intermediate level and I think I do the same, just not as fast and fluently as Garcia.
Let's not bring gun play into tennis, por favor.
Caroline is totally in the zone right now. She and Iga are just playing super aggressive.

Garcia has upgraded everything in her play.
Gauff needs to add more mph to her serve, esp that 2nd serve. Garcia waited inside the court knowing her 2nd serve is weak 😣
Gauff can serve up to 128mph and usually serves around 110 to 120 on average. She was slowing it down I think because she has a continuous problem with double faulting. She said earlier in last week “some times I try to hit them as hard as I can other times I just try land it in” today was the latter.
Gauff needs to be more respectful to her opponents, and to people in general. Her father should be responsible for that. Personally, I wanted her to win, but not sad that she lost. Why didn't she put her finger to her head, as she did after winning against Madison? She HAS got to be humble.

@@eff943, in all her dealings, she MUST be humble! That's the trend of the youths these days. Very disrespectful! Maybe, you are one of them.
Gauff is only 18. She will add more of everything if she stays focussed. It may not be enough ATM as other players don't stand still. Would not bet against her getting a Slam or two as she polishes her game and adds the steel.
